Alpen Retreat 2Bdrm

A well appointed chalet (2 bedrooms + loft) on the Hirafu village border with a view of Mt. Yotei. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedroom 2 has a double bed while the loft space consists of two single beds. A fully equipped kitchen, WIFI are standard, as well as a washer and a dryer. Alpen Retreat offers excellent value and is a great base for any holiday. There is a TV with an HDMI cable for screening Netflix's etc (no local or cable TV). You will need to rent a car with this location.

Renovated to be open, modern and spacious our chalet is only 20 minutes drive from Nagano City, Togakushi and Iizuna ski resorts. It is less than 5 minutes walk to many cafes and restaurants and the new Nagano Forest Village. There, you can buy local produce, craft beers & wine, and walk around the beautiful area. We recommend driving to explore more around the highlands and snow tires (or chains) are a must have during winter.

**Ski Chalet in Hakuba** Our group had an absolutely amazing three-night stay at Chika’s chalet in Hakuba! From start to finish, everything was perfect, and we couldn't have asked for a better home base for our ski trip. The location is incredibly convenient—just steps away from the free Happo One ski resort shuttle, making it effortless to hit the slopes each day. The chalet itself is cozy, warm, and beautifully designed, offering the perfect retreat after long days in the snow. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook meals, and the bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained. Beyond the chalet, the proximity to downtown Hakuba was a huge bonus. Bars, restaurants, and grocery stores were all within easy reach, and ski rentals at SPICY ECHOLAND made gearing up for the mountains a breeze. Whether it was grabbing a bite after skiing or stocking up on essentials, everything was conveniently located.

The place was extremely clean and nice! The complimentary breakfast was a plus. The location is okay if you plan to use the local shuttle service but there is really not much to do around the area and shops and restaurants close early. The overall experience here was good except the host responds very slow. The first night there we were having problem with the hot water. We couldn’t figure out if we had to turn on the hot water or it was automatic since all the instructions were in Japanese. But with the help of photo translate we were able to figure out the water situation. I would definitely stay here again the next time I come. The place is worth the money.

The location of the map is correct, but to be honest, it was confusing.I called and said that when I was on google maps with shirokin, the location would come out, so I thought it would be good if you could post it like that. However, it was no exaggeration to say 100 points out of everything else. I'd love to stay again if I get the chance.

Incredibly beautiful cabin with a unique character and great atmosphere. Noriko went above and beyond to ensure instructions were clear; from directions, check in, in home instructions, and recommendations nearby. Bathroom was 11/10 and gorgeous. Place was cold when we got there but provided heaters warmed it up very quickly. For those going there, Google maps directions brought you right to the front and was easy to find. If visiting during the winter season, make sure to have at least studless snow tires as roads are very icy.

We had a great time in this chalet! It is in a quiet area at the foot of the southern Alps, surrounded with sakura trees, just nearby to some good trailheads to the natural park, but without being too isolated. The house was sparkling clean, confortable and functional - in particular the wifi was fast and I could get some remote work done. It felt great to have lunch on the sunny terrace in this big garden. The hosts were very welcoming, friendly, and easy to deal with.

A spacious and comfortable home with beautiful original features and decorations. The views in all directions were magical, especially the changing light on the snow, Mount Yotei and the surrounding mountains. Our children loved having the space to play in powder snow. Julien and Yi Ching went above and beyond to help us make our stay wonderful.
