Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Schroon Lake

We had an absolutely magical time at Mary Jane's! From the spacious hot tub with comfy robes, the fire pit, well stocked game closet and a whole game room downstairs with pool/ping pong/darts/PacMan, while being surrounded by the beautiful Adirondacks for great hikes and adventures, we were never at a lost of what to do! The layout, amenities and location of the chalet were perfect for two families to unplug and be present with each other. The rooms were super cozy and the bunk bed rooms were the highlight for the kids. The separate cabin in the back also was a huge hit! Mary Jane was the best host, very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed to make this a comfortable stay. We can't wait to come back in the winter months for skiing!

The place was everything we expected and more! Lynn was super nice and helpful, we informed her that we were running early and she let us check in to the Airbnb 40 minutes early. We loved having all that space to explore with the dogs. It truly was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. I would love to come back in the fall!

We appreciated how pet friendly this place was! Fenced in yard. Blankets to cover the furniture to allow dogs on them. Close enough to many different ski mountains. Perfect to come home to the wood stove and hot tub.

I couldn’t say enough good things about this listing. The view, the amenities, the whole stay was incredible. Responsive host, clean and tidy upon arrival, easy and clear check in/check out, very thoughtful small things that help make your stay more pleasant and memorable. Would recommend this listing to anyone who is hoping to find a special place to relax and recuperate. Would definitely return if I was looking in the area again!

Don’s beautiful VanHoevenberg Ridge has become our home base in the ADK, and a “home away from home” where we return several times a year to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and lakes in all seasons. This is by far the best place we have stayed since we have been coming to the ADK for over 30 years. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you’ll be back! Don’s place has everything you’ll need, and is near to everywhere you’ll want to go. The views of the High Peaks are stellar, and the hot tub is relaxing after an active day outdoors. Don is a welcoming host who truly cares that his guests have the best experience, whether avid hikers or simply wanderers seeking serenity and renewal in the woods and waters near his home. He respects your privacy, but is happy to provide his knowledge of the area to find the best hike or paddle for you. This place is our North Star in the ADK: bright, constant, and a place we’ll always look to return to. We recommend it highly to everyone!

Nice place and the host was communicative and accommodating

The Chalet was just perfect. Listing perfectly described what you were getting with this little piece of paradise! The Sauna was easily workable. The hot tub was clean and ready to go. The whole house was immaculate and roomy yet cozy. Perfect distance to the MANY MANY WATERFALLS the boyfriend and I were chasing. Skiing at Whiteface will be happening in the future, and hopefully using Judi's gorgeous Chalet to ease my weary bones once again in the future. We had a a great stay! House and location was extremely peaceful. We loved the hot tub, wrap around porch and massage chair. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back!

This house offers great proximity to Gore Mountain Skiing. The pool and hot tub were also fun differentiators.

A fun winter break/birthday getaway! Sarah’s house had plenty of bedrooms for all guests. The game room, pool table, and wood stove/fireplace were great to have on these cold February days. Everyone enjoyed the sunroom and large dining table. The hot tub and outdoor sleds were used as well. The history of the house and beautiful views from the property were an interest to all. I bet this house is a lovely spot in the summer as well!

Great place to relax, enjoy nature and peace & quiet. Lovely scenery and while separate from any commotion, easy to get to anywhere you need to get to in the Lake George area. Host was proactive and responded quickly, cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. Definitely coming back!

We enjoyed our stay. Home was very clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked. It’s definitely designed for guest’s comfort. We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay! Victoria was extremely generous and accommodating, making sure all our requests were taken care of and that check-in was smooth and hassle-free. The house itself was beautiful—neat, tidy, and very well maintained. The rooms were clean, the washrooms were spotless, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Victoria was always quick to respond to any questions we had, which made the entire experience even better. Highly recommend!

There is not enough to say about the pristine beauty that is Loraine’s cabin. The instructions were helpful in navigating into the property and lights were turned on as it was dark to assure my comfortable arrival. The cabin feels like a nurturing home and is equipped with comforts and small touches. The bed was neatly made and felt like a picture walking in to see it. The stairs are cabin stairs and there is caution to take your time and step gently. Seemingly every question was answered with small notes around the cabin and a detailed welcome book. The care and attention to detail was perfection in a stay. I only wish I had been on a longer trip to fully enjoy the grounds and the surroundings. It was easy to feel at home and welcome with Loraine and Dean as hosts.

We had an amazing stay at Kristin and Dave’s cottage and cannot wait to return. The cottage was spotless, very well equipped, and supremely comfortable. Both Kristin and Dave were very responsive, extremely helpful, and provided great instructions and assistance. The location was beautiful and so peaceful. The outdoor space was such a nice option, and the porch and pool were so nice to relax in. We wholeheartedly recommend the cottage!

We had such a great time at Ashley's place and really appreciated the welcome basket & being able to bring our 2 kitties with us to stay that need meds. (We also loved the neighborhood porch kitty that visited daily.) Thank you SO much, Ashley!

Our second stay at Fox Hollow. Great location next to town. Beds and baths worked well for us. Access to trails and sledding out the back of the property was great. The front porch puts you in a special place and mood. J

This is a great house to stay in. There's a lot of space, places to sleep, sit and relax, eat, watch tv, play games, work, read, cook. Plenty of hot water.. Very private, although in a neighborhood. Nice back yard area when not covered in snow, looking up at the mountains behind. Sheri is top notch. Easy to reach, super friendly and helpful, easy going. We came at the tail end of a snow storm, but the driveway was cleared enough to get our car in and then Sheri worked with us to make sure everything was cleared before we had to go out the next day. Easy walk into the cute town of Bristol. Handful of nice shops (books, games, art, crafts, gifts, toys) and restaurants: Wokky's--ok Chinese/great staff; Minifactory--out of sight coffee/biscuits/sandwiches/fresh ingredients/lot of gluten free; Cubber's--locals' joint/excellent pizza/sandwiches; Farmhouse Chocolates--superb fresh organic truffles, bars, caramels/chocolatier is wonderful. Easy drive to Mad River Glen, Sugarbush for skiing.

Our first time at Lynda's home in the woods. Place was exactly how described! Was very cozy and we had everything we needed for our stay. Great location, very private and close to skiing and town. We enjoyed to sauna every day. We got to relax and really enjoy ourselves. Lynda was very quickly to respond and was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely plan to go back, we loved it!

Had a fantastic time. Went backcountry skiing before work and then worked from his place with multiple people doing zoom calls without issues. Perfect place for us

Nancy’s place was a great option for my stay in the area. The kitchen had everything I needed, and the couch was comfortable. As was the one bed I slept in. I was visiting for a work trip. Nancy was also incredibly responsive to any questions I had, and was offering suggestions for the area I found useful. I’m glad to have found this place. While on this trip, I did not bring my dogs, I will be sure to stay here on my next one to the area. I typically stay in hotels here, but I will do my best to stay at Nancy’s anytime visiting in the future.

Kimberley's place was the perfect weekend getaway, with plenty of space, a very responsive host, and exactly as described on the website. Had we not brought our own boardgames to play, she even has a nice collection to stay busy now matter what the weather is outside. Would love to stay there again next time I am planning a board gaming trip!

We had a great stay! Loved playing board games in front of the fireplace. The house is minutes to Brandon (an adorable town) but still feels away from it all.

Conveniently located close your on town. Plenty of space for all of us! We loved our stay at this place and will book again.
