Hotel vacation rentals in São Martinho

The accommodation offered by Elisa, a house of character, is ideally located about ten minutes walk from the old town and about twenty minutes walk from the port. Everything is easily accessible (tourist curiosities, catering points). The bedroom on the first floor was very nice (comfortable beds, window to the courtyards). Communication with Elisa was fluid. She gave us recommendations and responded promptly to any questions we had. Thank you so much Elisa!!

The MoRe Guesthouse is a lovely place in Machico. All rooms are beautifully designed and each has it's own characteristic theme. Ruben, the owner, is a really nice and helpful guy with awesome tips of what to do and where to go. Hopefully we will find the time to visit this place again!

Anna's hotel was a very nice place to stay. Breakfast with a 5-star view included, and incredible service. We enjoyed the food and slept well, even though it was a very cold week. The view from the hotelroom to the mountains and see is beautiful. All in all, for the price you pay you get everything you need, plus the knowledge and kindness of Anna. Thank you! We will be back ;)

really nice peaceful place in the mountains. the decor in the room is a little dated but everything worked and was clean. Anna is a fantastic host with a lot of great recommendations of what to do. also the restaurant across the road serves delicious food at a reasonable price. It's nice to have it so close to spend an evening when in such a rural location.

The view is stunning, the hotel is very nice, the staff is friendly, the bed is super comfortable, the bathroom is great and the A/C worked perfectly. Can only recommend!

The place was exactly like the pictures. The room was very nice, equipped with everything you need and clean. The highlight of the accommodation is the pool with the beautiful view directly to the sea. Jorge and Rosa always responded very quickly to our messages and gave us tips for the area/excursions. We were able to check in earlier than advertised and everything went smoothly. We highly recommend the place☺️

I had an incredibly relaxing solo stay at this beautiful Airbnb in Madeira! My hosts, Yves and Julie, were warm and attentive – they thought of everything and answered every question I had. Thanks to their great tips and genuine hospitality, I felt welcome from the very first moment. The accommodation itself is an absolute dream: modernly furnished, spotlessly clean, and decorated with charming details. The view from the terrace is simply breathtaking and truly one-of-a-kind—whether it’s watching the sunrise over the Atlantic or the glittering Funchal city lights at night. It was the perfect place for me to unwind and recharge. All in all, a superb feel-good retreat that I wholeheartedly recommend to any solo traveler heading to Madeira. I can’t wait to come back!

Peaceful location with unreal views. Ideal to spend some days in a quiet area with a car

The room was very clean and the view from the balcony a dream!

We had three fantastic weeks at this beautiful hideaway. The flat was not modern, but it was so clean and cozy, and the view is superb. The rooms are of good size, and the beds is quite comfortable with soft pillows. The pool is big enough to get some laps done, and had a gorgeous view over Funchal. The staff made us feel welcome, and they were so helpful. We felt safe and we’ll taken care of. We like to walk, so we walked back up from the city everyday, but a taxi is only 5 euros🤓 We are coming back for sure🎉

We chose accommodation in Villa Maria Quinta, which is located in a quiet village, because we don't like the hustle and bustle of the city. Once you get used to the very steep and narrow island roads, it's easy to get with car to any part of Madeira from here. There are numerous hiking trails nearby, as well as a sandy beach. Also nearby are many restaurants with delicious dishes. Funchal is only 36 km away. The villa is very nicely decorated and has everything you need. It is excellent accommodation for larger groups because it has 6 separate cottages-apartments for a total of 12 people.

Outsite is a perfect choice for a week off in Ponta do Sol, Madeira. The room (for 2 people) was a bit small but with all the necessaries and the view from the balcony is amazing. You can eat well in the restaurants nearby, wash your clothes, go hiking and go to the beach to get a tan. Elisa, the community member and other guests were very friendly. I recommend it 👌🏼

We had a great time staying with Julie and Yves. The hospitality, conversation, breakfast, patio-space, etc... There was a lot to like. We wanted an authentic experience in Madeira, and that's what we got. Thanks again! Hope to cross paths in the future 😎

The human quality of Catarina, present in every detail of the trip; I arrived very late and they gave me all the info to access, I had coffee and cookies (a lovely gesture). Beyond that she was always attentive and allowed me to keep my bags a little longer; the place matches the photos, it is safe, quiet and with everything you need for a stay on the island. Highly recommended.

Pakoj wasn't big, but it was enough, especially since the hostel is close to the center of Funchal. Nice atmosphere, helpful and friendly service.

I had a great stay. The property was exactly as described and matched the photos perfectly. The bed was spacious, and the pillows were incredibly comfortable, which made for a restful sleep. The entire space was very clean, and the peaceful location added to the charm. A special mention to Javier, who was extremely responsive and easy to reach if I needed anything - his attentiveness made the experience even better. The only consideration is that you’ll need a vehicle to make the most of your stay, especially if you plan to visit Funchal frequently. That aside, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely consider returning if I visit the area again!
