Waterfront vacation rentals in São Martinho

It has been sometime since I stayed in a real home-y and cosy house like Betty's. Our whole group (two families with small children ) was very pleasantly surprised by this beautifully decorated home. There were many essentials as well as some offerings by the host readily available. The location(although not very close to the historic center) is fantastic as it is possible to walk to some famous rock pools and a beach, as well as many restaurants, a mall and a supermarket. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.

First, the place is spotless, and what to say about the view. Plus, they're great hosts. We had a lovely stay. Recommended!

We have had the most wonderful holiday in Beautiful Madeira. Yana's apartment is absolutely amazing and the view was something else !!!! After a busy day to arrive back to this apartment and sit relaxing on the balcony was all that you needed. The view was never the same either calm seas or amazing waves and also looking over to Funchal Town. Lots of lovely restaurants near. Forum Mall a short walk away with lots of shops and a great supermarket. The walk into Funchal Town was about 50 mins but we used local buses which were cheap to use. Amazing treks ..waterfalls..coastline..worth going on an organised tour. We would recommend Yana's apartment 100%..we will most definitely return.

It was as described. Very clean. Terrace to enjoy your coffee. No view. But right next to a nice park with lots of flowers. The towels were very stiff. Bed was comfy. Great water pressure in shower. Close to town. Tons of restaurants very close by. Patricia was there to greet me. Anytime I had a question she responded immediately. Overall great stay!!

We spent 4 weeks in Emanuels apartment. Walking distance to shopping, city center, and waterfront. Various bus routes just around the corner. We felt very welcome and the little practical issues that arose along the way were resolved instantly. Due to the location, there is a lot of traffic noise, but when it was too much, we closed the windows and the balcony door - and then it was ok. Emanuel is a great host who responded very quickly to questions. We were received very kindly and given great instruction. In addition, we got local tastings: -) We highly recommend a stay with Emanuel.

The apartment is spacious and very comfortable. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The location is great. It’s quiet. The stairs across the street gets you down to the town in 5 minutes- it’s a climb to get back up. Ribeira Brava is a good location to explore Madeira and it’s away from the hustle and bustle of Funchal.

We have just returned home from a wonderful stay here! Highly recommend! Felt like a true home away from home!Exactly what we had pictured! Steve was a great communicator from the very beginning. Wonderful location to explore the entire island. We had a car rental ( highly recommended) and always had a spot right out front. My husband and I were traveling with our adult son and the second bedroom was super private with its own bathroom. Loved having a washing machine for a quick load! The house is brand new.. every amenity you could want! Only regret was we were so busy hiking, exploring, and sightseeing we didn’t spend a whole lot of time at the house! Would definitely stay here again !! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!!

We stayed at Casa dos Francelhos, we were seven adults. The facilities were excellent. Antonio greeted us with kindness, guided us through everything we needed from the villa, but also gave great tips about Madeira's sights, shops, dining, and getting around. The week went smoothly in a villa with three bathrooms inside and a fourth outside. Fruit spreads, welcome wines, and beautiful flowers were waiting for us. Everything worked brilliantly. The outside patio and pool area was very cozy and beautiful. During the week, we also grilled on the outdoor grill. The location of the villa is great, the area is peaceful and the view of the sea is beautiful, we walked daily to the center. Backwards we often took a taxi, the youth walked back and got some useful exercise. Taxis were well received from the city center, next to the exit of the Pingo store, there were always several waiting for them. The bolt worked well too. We can highly recommend Casa dos Francelho!

Beautiful house! Amazing host, Paula makes sure everything is great. She even dropped by in the evening to bring new sheets when our baby threw up on our bed. Too sweet. Also the communication with her was the best ever. Big pool, great garden to have morning coffee in the sun, lovely village on walking distance. Good to know that the water pressure of the showers are a bit low, we were able to get a good shower anyway. Paula is super flexible, we were allowed to stay in the house until our flight left that day because there was not a guest coming that day or the next. All in all we would recommend Paula’s place 1000%.

This place was perfect. I will definitely be coming back for my next stay in Madeira. Filipe is exactly what we want out of a host and provided some incredible information that we took full advantage of. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Excellent, superb house with a magnificent panorama, very good swimming pool. Immediate proximity to Ribeira Braviz for shopping and restaurants. Very good location to explore Madeira. And in addition Gomez is very welcoming. In short, to be recommended.

Comfortable accommodation, well-equipped, in a good location to explore the island and enjoy the beach on the way back in the evening. Host welcoming and available as needed. The street leading to the accommodation is steep, it can be impressive if you're not comfortable with driving. We enjoyed picking oranges from the garden for breakfast. We had a great time!

Apartment with a particularly beautiful view, nicer than in the photos, located in a quiet area. Privacy and silence guaranteed, only the sound of the ocean can be heard. Equipped with all the necessary things in the kitchen and bathrooms. Very comfortable, large bed, comfortable pillows. Mosquito nets on all windows. Very good contact with Ana Sofia. I recommend it, I'll be happy to come back :)

You don't even know where to start. Absolutely hospitable and very, very warm family. The space is a dream. We were warmly welcomed by José's son Tomás with homemade banana cake from Sónia. What better way to start a vacation? The place was just as described. It is clean, well equipped and in a great location. We had a rental car and were able to reach all the places we wanted to explore easily and quickly from the property. Communication was always fast, clear and reliable. Whether it was about the arrival, spontaneous questions or recommendations. You can tell that José and Sónia really care about the well-being of their guests. We would come back any time and can fully recommend the stay! See you soon and thank you for this great vacation.

Great penthouse in the middle of everything. The harbour in front, the old town on the right, a park on the left and the shopping centre behind. It is a really big apartment with a great terrace. It has two bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Parking is available in the garage below the building. There are many very good restaurants within walking distance. It was a personal welcome and we were given an introduction to the accommodation. It was a very nice stay and we can really recommend this apartment.

This place took our breath away as soon as we walked inside. Very special to be able to enjoy coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening on the balcony overlooking the water. Location was great to explore this beautiful island. We made our own meals in the kitchen and didn’t feel like we were missing anything. Definitely would recommend :)

Very pleasant communication, quick response. Good accessibility by car, underground parking space included. Close to the city center, great restaurants nearby, also within walking distance. Great recommendations from the host. Very nice, spacious apartment, well furnished, has everything you could ever need. Very clean!

The apartment is in a great location. Tonnes of mixed restaurants nearby (some tourists may prefer if you want home comforts and others authentic Portuguese food) all just a walk away. A short walk to many local supermarkets too which is helpful when you need to quickly grab things. Private pool which was never busy and always quiet! We rented a car and the parking in the apartment is so accessible. We used the apartment as a base for many hikes so drove various distances from here to explore Madeira. Excellent host, great apartment and would stay in this airbnb next visit.

We were extremely comfortable and thought the location was perfect walkable to restaurants, grocery store, deus store and some shopping. Close to attractions in city.

Beautiful apartment, clean, very spacious and wonderful views. The terrace is an amazing bonus, great for relaxing, sunbathing and eating. It has plenty of seating options and even a BBQ. The inside was also very comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious with lots of storage. We spent 2 weeks there and found it the perfect base from which to explore Madeira.

This was the perfect place for my family of 4 for 5 nights. Roberto met us for check-in and guided us into the garage, easy to park and utilize the remote control. From there you access the elevator to the 5th floor. The condo is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Our 2 adult children were with us and the room situation was ideal. The weather could have been better, lots of rain, wind mixed with some sun. I chose this over some other homes because of the amazing patio with a view, we didn't use that much due to rain.We ate at Francos the second night, which is around the corner, it was good, but we discovered the streets closer to the water and hotels, and ate in that area the next three nights. We also found a great breakfast/coffee shop called the LOFT in the same area, super yummy and so reasonable. The kitchen was fine, and worked for breakfast on a few days. Good to know there is a washer, but no dryer, so you have a drying rack. We loved our stay here!

We had a very good time staying at Nelson and Paula's apartment. It is very spacious, very well equipped with everything you could need. But the most beautiful is the beautiful sea and mountain views. It is a lively location with a great hamburger tent in the parking lot in front of the apartment and plenty of restaurants nearby. We walked a lot in the area, but also liked to do the hike among the banana trees in Madalena do Mar. Communication was excellent. There is a new bed and that's fine! The apartment is definitely recommended!
