Family-friendly vacation rentals in Santa Cruz

Stayed for 6 nights in April. The house, it's location and Seixal were all fantastic. The heated pool was a real luxury and brilliant to see it in included in the price.

The place was beautiful in a very quiet location with stunning views. Everything was clean and furnished with love so that you can only feel comfortable from the first moment. It had everything you need, we also loved the many kitchen utensils and the grill, which we used every day. The terrace with whirlpool, lounge, loungers and table were the highlight. We spent a lot of time in the accommodation because we felt so comfortable. The beach Calheta is 5 minutes by car easy to reach and highly recommended. We also loved the private parking. Bruno and Maria are very accommodating and also asked how we are doing and if we need anything. The location was perfect for us, very quiet, lots of privacy and yet we can get everywhere by car. It was a very pleasant stay, the views were amazing. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. The whole house was really well equipped, there was everything you needed. The host was very kind. One thing, but rather related to Madeira itself, that little caterpillars were walking into the house. Other than that the stay was amazing.

Leonel’s home was beautiful and exactly as pictures. Leonel met us at the property and shared lots about the area and had wonderful recommendations. The house had lots of space for 2 or a family and it is very close to lots of beautiful activities. We had a wonderful stay.

Carlos’s place was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay – the property was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect, and everything was well taken care of. The apartment is sublime and spacious. Crossing with sea view on both sides. Everything you need is available, including shower gel and hair dryer. The accommodation has a pool with sea views. The host is welcoming and flexible. She is kind enough to give us directions on things to do in Madeira.

We enjoyed the house very much, it has a perfect location, we would book it again anytime.

Great location for exploring Madeira. Very handy for the airport and going in to Funchal for dinner. Villa clean and well equipped with good pool area and fantastic views.

Maria’s 8th-floor apartment was perfect! Super clean, spacious, and the balcony had amazing views of the marina, Santa Catarina park, and the city. It has two bedrooms — one with a double bed, the other with two singles — both with private bathrooms and closets. There are three bathrooms total, all spotless. The kitchen had everything, plus a dishwasher and coffee machine. Laura, who welcomed us, was so kind and helpful. She messaged me before arrival, arranged parking, explained everything in the apartment, and even brought us a big bottle of water and fresh coffee capsules the next day. She also gave great local tips. The building has great security and private parking. Honestly, the whole stay was smooth and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Madeira — close to everything!

Highly recommend, excellent location!

It has been sometime since I stayed in a real home-y and cosy house like Betty's. Our whole group (two families with small children ) was very pleasantly surprised by this beautifully decorated home. There were many essentials as well as some offerings by the host readily available. The location(although not very close to the historic center) is fantastic as it is possible to walk to some famous rock pools and a beach, as well as many restaurants, a mall and a supermarket. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.

Beautiful house. The driveway is easy to miss if you're not paying close attention the first time. Well equipped kitchen. Next to a walking trail by the sea. Well situated to drive to other attractions around the island. Fanal forest, P Moniz, Santana, PR16, were not far away.

La Casita de la Praia is a real gem. Very well located, quiet and easy to access. Rocked by the lapping of the ocean and the mild climate in the heart of a green screen. We loved it. Thank you for this pleasant stay!

Very pleasant Airbnb, as described and shown in photos. Lino, our host, picked us up from the airport and took us directly to the Airbnb. Great communication before and during the stay. The apartment is really nice, well lit, and has a beautiful view. Very well organized kitchen with plenty of dishes, large fridge, microwave and stove, which is nice, living room with sofa, TV, bedroom with double bed, large closet, desk, air conditioning and unobstructed ocean view. Everything was perfect, we even got a small regional cake on arrival. I would highly recommend this airbnb

Excellent stay in this well-located apartment with perfect value for money.

This place in Madeira was hands down the most amazing Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly clean and thoughtfully organized. There was even an outdoor cabin with a washing machine, which was super convenient, especially when traveling with kids. But the highlight? The view. I’ve stayed in many places, but I’ve never seen a view like this from an Airbnb. Truly breathtaking — you could just sit and take it in for hours. The house is perfect for families, and the location couldn’t be better. You can easily reach every part of the island from here, making it a perfect base to explore beautiful Madeira. Communication with the host was also excellent — kind, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire stay. I can’t recommend this place enough. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

We felt very relaxed and comfortable at Antonio’s lovely house and the garden and views were impressive. We appreciated the interesting features in the garden with its nature feel and enjoyed the pool and sauna which we thought was a real asset for the place. The house is interesting and cared about and Antionio was an excellent and helpful host. We were glad of the car we hired to access shops, restaurants, beach and walking areas as without one would be difficult but it suited us really well as 4 adults who wanted a base from which to explore Madeira.

A great option for those who want to spend a few relaxing days in Madeira. A typical little house, with all the amenities. The area in which it is located is convenient for those who want to explore the island (by car), and is particularly sunny. Wonderful views. One of the biggest advantages is the availability of parking. Guests were helpful and pleasant. Nothing to point out :)

We enjoyed our stay at one bedroom villa. Garden with herbs, pool, view and the house were spectacular. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful here, we would definitely come back. Check in and all communications with Fabrice Ana and Shelom were responsive and helpful, definitely recommend.

The house was a wonderful place for us and our family. Plenty of room and the kitchen was very well equipped. The view was spectacular and the pool and patio were an excellent spot to relax.

This was a delightful place to stay. Very private and so many facilities for a small place. Beautiful views, swimming pool and honesty bar. A total hidden gem.

This was by far the best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. Antonio was so helpful from the very beginning (he sent lots of info ahead of our arrival), made sure we could check in in the morning after our early flight and welcomed us personally at his lovely house with pool and all amenities one could look for (specifically in the kitchen and bathrooms, where we found all types of equipment, shampoo, tissues etc). The beds were comfortable, the view was stunning. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed cooking together (particularly barbecuing outdoors), but the house offered many peaceful corners for each of us to relax in, too. We also really appreciated Antonio‘s recommendations for hikes and other things to do on the island. Thanks a lot for everything!!

We loved our two weeks at this location. Superb views over the ocean and the surroundings. All we needed in the house was present and clean. Very peaceful neighbourhood (although we were a little unlucky to have roadworks ongoing). Amazing private pool (with an extra bathroom)! Carolina was super friendly and always available for questions. Would love to stay here again in the future. Highly recommended!!

The Bauhaus-style house leaves nothing to be desired. We immediately felt very comfortable. The house is very well maintained and in mint condition. All necessary equipment is available. The house was the entire house and the terraces were very clean including the bathrooms. The pool was heated as agreed and the cover also kept the temperature very well. Fatima introduced herself to us briefly on the second day, she is very nice and we immediately had a very friendly relationship. We were even allowed to try some tomatoes from her local garden. If you want to spend a relaxing vacation with pool time and hiking, you are in good hands there. We will be back!
