Vacation rentals with a fireplace in San José Province

I would describe this accommodation using the words of my nephews, it was like being above the clouds almost touching the sky, the landscapes, the climate and the location make it ideal to relax and get out of the routine, the house is the perfect mix between technology and mountain warmth, every corner of the place is carefully decorated to make you feel at home. The host, María Laura, certainly made a big difference with her fluency in communication, which made the stay more enjoyable and my family and I really felt like special guests. I certainly hope to return to this place, and I recommend that if you want to create nice memories, don't hesitate to book here too.

We loved our stay at this Airbnb in Alajuela, Costa Rica. From the first moment we felt very welcome. The place is comfortable, clean, and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The location is perfect, close to the airport but in a quiet area, ideal for resting. In addition, the host was incredibly kind and attentive, always available to help us with any questions or recommendations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers.

We had a great couple of nights at Guillermo’s beautiful place! It was a special stop on our travels to celebrate a friends birthday and from the moment we stepped foot through the gates, made our way through the lovely gardens, and into the cool sleek apartment we felt at home. We were able to cook with ease (everything we needed and more), great efficient laundry service, and a comfortable sleep and nice hot shower! The decor made it all the more homely (small details like nice smells and soft towels), and being able to watch the birds from both front and rear balconies was a treat. We had a great time and I’d recommend to anyone. We were 3 friends, but this is an ideal family destination too!

Communication with the host was excellent. Very helpful and responsive. The cabin was great. Kitchen well stocked. Bed was comfortable and the view was beautiful. Note that the 5:30 am morning sun comes in and the animals get up that early. If you want to sleep in, bring eye covers and ear plugs. We had a lovely breakfast on the porch looking at the volcano. Overall, it was a good stay.

A absolute privilege to spend a few days here as a family. A gem of a house that felt immediately like a home. We loved the quirks and the passion for enjoyment. Top of our price range but to us it was worth every penny. Thank you Tucker.

Second time staying here, this time with family, there isn’t a person that doesn’t fall in love with the weather and the views from this cabin. It’s great, accesible and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Doug is very friendly and attentive!

Excellent, the house is very nice, clean and tidy, just for a quiet vacation outside the GAM.

Cindy’s condo is the perfect retreat for a family, or for a group. It is incredibly spacious, with more room than the pictures can show. The view of San Jose was gorgeous day and night. The pool was public to the condo, and was heated. The drive Into San Jose was a touch longer than expected, but that was no biggie due to all of the other amenities. Lots of balcony space, on multiple levels have great indoor/outdoor experiences. Definitely would stay again.

Great place to be close to all restaurants,clinics. Everything you need , very close the host very kind and communicative great place if you want to be close to everything, safe and comfortable, the apartment is very complete and warm as being in your own home. I hope to return soon

It's exactly as shown in the photos. Very cozy and a spectacular view. The only thing I might add would be a TV to connect the Netflix or the like. Since at night, there is not much around to have fun. The spotless and very cute place. I would come back 10 times more and I'm sure will. The main bed is a delight.

Probably the best AirBNB I’ve been in. Good gym + awesome swimming lanes (25m). Great views. More amenities than most people have at their homes. Great all around. Make sure to go on some of their trips - they are great.

The apartment is just as described in the listing. Easy to access. It is located on the same level of the lobby, and to go to the pool there is no elevator, it is practically 2 minutes walking. It has a very comfortable bed, and TV both in the room and in the living room. Well-equipped kitchen. When we arrived it was super clean. The amenities are super nice, although the apartment is comfortable, go up to the Azotea and have a coffee and enjoy the views and the different spaces, it is the best that Ncleo has. The hosts were always very attentive and responded very quickly to our queries.

The highlight for me was the beautiful Terrace , perfect for enjoying Costa Rica’s pleasant climate. The host was exceptionally attentive and responsive, providing valuable local recommendations and ensuring that all our needs were met promptly. It was truly a wonderful experience!!!

We had an amazing stay at this house! It was very spacious and perfect for our group of 13 people. We absolutely loved having access to two pools, which made our experience even more enjoyable. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, including matches to light our birthday candles, which was a nice touch! The space for three cars was more than enough, and we loved that the beach was just 600 meters away. We truly enjoyed every moment here, and we will definitely be coming back in the future. Highly recommended!

I’ll start with what you need to know. Yes, the airBNB is on private 4 acre lot. Yes the room was as clean and well designed as the pictures depicted. Yes there is lots of parking on the property. Yes the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, utensils, plates, cups and extras like sugar, cooking oil and coffee. Yes there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. Yes this property is in mountains, but Uber can take you anywhere for cheap. My family and I were lucky enough to book this place for almost 6months. Erika was very attentive and kind to us our entire stay. Sure this is her business, but every exchange felt genuine. My boys absolutely loved being here with so much room to play and run around. Weekly, Ilse and KB switched our linens, gived us fresh towels, cleaned the entire bathroom and swept our floors. Mr. Orlando and Guillermo worked swiftly to address all grounds related issues. This team of four worked really well together to ensure our comfort. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I booked this listing for a group of 8 women. We all needed time to get away from our busy lives in the U.S. The six nights at La Sombra were peaceful and inspiring! What a beautiful location and beautiful grounds. We were all stunned by the property, in a good way:) It was even better than the beautiful pictures provided. Each villa was appointed beautifully with quality linens, towels, robes, bath soaps, dishes, etc. We especially enjoyed the patio views and the design of the structures that incorporate natural light and the surrounding nature. We ate dinner each night on the patio of the main house, and found a spot for morning meditations on the bridge. Catherine and Ryan were available and responsive before, during and after our visit. And, I cannot say enough about the local cook, Marta. We all wanted to take her home with us! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Catherine and Ryan!

A Truly Exceptional Stay at Villa Serafina! From the moment we arrived at Villa Serafina, we were in awe of the stunning surroundings and the incredible hospitality. The villa itself is a true gem — beautifully designed with every detail thoughtfully curated to provide maximum comfort and style. The spacious rooms, the peaceful atmosphere, and the breathtaking views made our stay unforgettable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is the 4th different rental we’ve stayed in on vacation in Costa Rica and has been our favorite. The house was extremely clean and modern but still comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for a family of 5 to have meals and mostly eat in which is exactly what I was hoping for. The pool is a good size and perfect depth for younger kids. The house is close to everything we needed and we found lots to do, but the area felt very private. The area is very friendly with great beaches and restaurants. The views at sunset (and all day) are just incredible! We highly recommend booking this place and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

This place was stunning, peaceful and secluded. Now, keep that in mind when booking your stay, the place is remote and the nearest store is a short drive away, so plan accordingly. We coordinated a chef and massage services to come to the property, and the hosts were accommodating of this arrangement. There are a few lizards and geckos that come and visit the property. Overall a fantastic experience with this property and we would recommend to anyone visiting Costa Rica

Spectacular hosts, they quickly become your friend! Andrea, his family and his home are a unique experience. The view, training room and all utilities inside the house are worthy of a luxury home, the unparalleled security and privacy of the place allows you to enjoy the fresh air and the view of the entire city of Cartago. Note: They wake up in the early morning and go out to the balcony of the master bedroom! They will thank me
