We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb in Kyoto. The location is excellent — very convenient for exploring the city and close to many major attractions. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, always available to answer questions and offer recommendations. The accommodation itself was clean, cozy, and had a lovely traditional feel that made the experience even more special. I was fully satisfied with everything and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Juan was a wonderful host—kind, patient, and attentive. The house was spotless and spacious, with plenty of room for three adults. It’s about a 20-minute walk from Kyoto Station, located in a quieter, more secluded area, which was perfect for a peaceful getaway. While it’s not right in the middle of the nightlife or shopping districts, getting around with Uber was quick and easy. The surrounding neighborhood was beautiful and ideal for walking. Just across the train tracks, there’s a large park with a stunning garden—perfect for a relaxing stroll. Overall, it was a fantastic place to stay!

The staff is very friendly, Audrey,Mr.Hide and Ai were very helpful. It is in a peaceful residential location, 15 min walk to the train station, where there is 2-3 malls, cafes, restaurants, mochi shops nearby and a couple of beautiful parks to walk around especially to see cherry blossoms, also very popular park to see cherry blossoms few train stations away! This is 30 minute trains away to Osaka or Kyoto. The room has a good bathroom, comfortable beds and tables to study and stay, We couldn’t use the kitchen , as it is only open to long term guests, ( more than 3weeks, unfortunately we only noticed that after booking) but allowed to warm up food and free drinking water refills. We ended up extending our stay for a few more days to stay here! Would definitely come back, Thanks for the help, Audrey and the recommendations, Ai!

My 78 year old mom and a family of 9 came back from a great day. The stairs were hard for my mom, so we stayed with us on the first floor and went up before going to sleep. It's a very spacious house for 9 people. It was spacious, but there were a lot of heaters here and there, so I stayed warm. It's a pity that we arrived late and couldn't use various facilities. Also, I was surprised that the kitchen was so spacious. Thank you so much for your kind response and guidance.

Our stay at Yamashita’s beautiful 100-year-old Japanese villa in Kyoto was the perfect way to end our 2 week vacation in Japan. The house is spacious, very clean, and well-equipped, perfect for our group of 12. It has everything you need and more. It has a serene garden, jacuzzi, and sauna—the kids especially loved the jacuzzi! Yamashita is an EXCEPTIONAL host—very warm, helpful, and accommodating. She drove us to supermarkets and places we wanted to go and even picked us up for a small fee. She prepared simple yet delicious breakfasts. She was quick to respond to messages and even guided us on using local buses. Though the house is a bit far from the touristy areas, the peace and quiet of Yamashita’s home made it the perfect retreat. It offered a more authentic and relaxing experience of Japan. I highly recommend Yamashita’s villa to anyone looking for comfort, culture, and outstanding hospitality. And to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in a traditional Japanese home.

If you are okay with train passing every 15 mins, this is a great place to stay. Great amenities, clean and comfortable house, enough space and cute balcony. Everything around it close very early (5-6pm) but we are okay with it. Host is responsive and direct. I would recommend this place if you are a heavy sleeper like us :)

This was our favorite place we stayed in Japan. It was larger than expected inside with a dining table and two spaces for tea. The sleeping area was also spacious and relaxing with shoji screens on all the windows. The neighborhood is very quiet and private with a nice stone path inside the gate. It's a 5 minute walk to Kyomizu-dera template, and 20 minutes to Gion. Walking back at night through the side streets is especially pleasant compared to staying in a hotel downtown.

I was impressed by the attention to detail and the beauty of the place. The pleasant scents throughout the house added a refined touch to the atmosphere. Bathing and relaxing in the tub while looking out at the zen rock garden was truly indescribable. Sleeping on the futon bed was incredibly comfortable. There were clear instructions for everything in the house, and tea, kitchen essentials, and utensils were all fully provided. The place was extremely clean, well-organized, and exceeded my expectations. There was underfloor heating in the tatami area and kitchen, as well as air conditioning and heating in every room. I really appreciated having a vending machine and a LUUP scooter right next to the house, which made getting around easy. The host was very helpful and provided all the assistance I asked for, and I’m truly grateful for that. I stayed with Junko for 4 nights and it was such a good choice!! The house is a bus ride away from Kyoto station, the bus stop is very close to the house so it’s very easily accessible. There are many good restaurants and endless things to do around the house. The house itself is beautiful, the traditional garden and rooms were amazing. The two cats were also so cute and loving! Each room has a small kitchenette with everything you need and there is a washer and dryer available. I chose to take part in a tea ceremony with Junko and it was amazing, I couldn’t recommend it enough. The tea master was very knowledgeable and kind, I was even able to practice making my own tea! Junko is so kind, she always helped me when I had a question and she made my stay feel more like a home than a hotel. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone looking for a traditional experience, out of the main city centre, with a kind host. I would love to stay with Junko again in the future!

This place is absolutely lovely, had a refrigerator which is amazing to store morning coffees (I love the 7/11 coffees) but also supplied tea and coffee with a kettle if needed. Natalie was so great for check in even though I ended up being super late because of trouble figuring out transport. There is a large hill to get up, but it's not too much of an issue as it's small. It's right near Hirakatashi station which has so many connections and the Keihan line which will get you everywhere. I had a few issues with the wifi in my room, but it was fine outside of my room so I just ended up working downstairs. Also had very easy checkout which was wonderful

We had a wonderful stay at Icy’s place. She was easy and fast to communicate with. We were able to drop off our luggage and go exploring. The location was walkable to a lot of things we wanted to see. There was a wonderful bakery around the corner. We used the washing machine and discovered it was also a dryer. That was a nice surprise. The stairs are steep so I wouldn’t recommend for children, but this is a lovely stay for any couple.

Amazing Airbnb. It was very clean and tidy in a very quaint neighborhood, was perfect to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Quick walk from Kyoto station, so there’s plenty of restaurants and convenience stores near by. Yi Hsiu provided crystal clear instructions to get from Kyoto station to her place. She’s maintained the place very well and has all of the listed amenities. Loved sleeping on the tatami bed, unique experience. The backyard was very nice as well!
