  • We had a lovely break at the cottage over half term with our two children. The cottage was clean and had the essentials needed for our stay. Only thing I would say is that the road to access the property had a lot of large pot holes which made it difficult to navigate- particularly in the dark!!

  • Such a lovely place to stay. The location was perfect with horses in the field and a guinea foul who visited our door. The kids loved it as they could wander up the path to the horses on their own. A great place to stay and we will definitely be back.

  • Clean and spacious. The hosts left us to our own devices and although the lodge is attached to the main house we felt like we had lots of privacy.

    Jana2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cleanest place we have ever stayed in as a family. Children had a fantastic time. Property was well situated for local amenities to the area. Plenty to do even in the winter over new year. Offered some fantastic suggestions on walks and places to visit with the children. Property was a lot bigger than expected from the photos. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

The property is smoke free and pet free. Please be aware the neighbours do have friendly dogs (they do not enter property). As this is a cottage we do have a dehumidifier, however, guests are more than welcome to turn this off. Tottenhill is a short drive from Downham Market and King's Lynn.

West Bilney is a small hamlet away from main roads amidst woodlands and farmland. We are surrounded with very friendly neighbours. The historic remains of an Augustinian Gatehouse which is one of the best preserved in the country is just down the road and there are beautiful scenic footpaths along the rive Nar.

  • We had a lovely stay at Matthew & Carolines’, they are great people to chat with during the very tasty breakfast. They offered some great tips on the local area too. The room was very clean, cosy and private. We had a very relaxing stay and would thoroughly recommend.

  • I've stayed at Matthews place twice now, each stay has been a delight. It's the perfect little get away one needs after a stressful week. The bed is very comfortable and the whole place is super clean. Has been lovely and warm on both arrivals and the diffusers give off a lovely scent when you walk through the door. Have only met Matthew once very briefly as was in a rush but he is pleasant and kind. Thank you for the wonderful stay, I think this location will be a regular for when I need to get away and unwind.

    Charlotte2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for the lovely stay, we would love to stay again when at our next show in Norfolk. Great location, lovely room and a very handy pub at the end of the road. Thanks again, Kimberley & Matthew

Shouldham is a beautiful village in rural West Norfolk, we are surrounded by fields and farms. Next to us is an ancient forest called ‘the Warren’. In the Warren there are walking trails, fantastic dog walks and mountain bike trails. It is full of birdsong and if you are lucky you might see a muntjac deer cross your path. They sometimes wander through the village too. Things to do In this part of West Norfolk we have two wonderfully maintained castles ( namely castle acre and castle rising) and a stunning national trust property (Oxburgh hall and gardens) as well as the historic market towns of Downham market and Swaffam to explore. 15 mins away is the Historic centre of Kings Lynn. 20 mins away is Sandringham the queens country residence and country park. Half hour away is the coastline offering snettisham RSPB , Heacham and the fantastic sandy beach at old Hunstanton. Hunstanton is a family seaside resort with fairground rides, amusements and a grand promenade past the candy floss, crazy golf and the new sea life aquarium and seal rescue centre. In the other direction we are 30 mins from Thetford forest’s ‘Go Ape’ high wires and Grimes Graves. There really is so much to see and do. Eating and drinking We have a fantastic (dog friendly) pub in our village that serves great food, in addition there are some great pubs close by including, newly renovated, The Hare Arms at Stow Bardolph. There is an excellent fish and chip shop in the neighbouring village. A great local curry house , Turkish, Thai and Chinese restaurants nearby, Kebab and pizza takeaways in Marham. There are Cafes for cooked breakfasts and hot meals and tea shops for coffee and cake. Please ask if you want to bring your own food and we can re- heat food for you as we are aware of the limitations of not having cooking facilities. We also sell our own free range eggs and local honey for you to take home with you.
  • Katie is a superb host and the accommodation is amazing. I would definitely recommend that anyone looking to stay in Norfolk should consider staying at Wesley House.

Lovely newly refurbished 2 bed cottage on a pretty West Norfolk village green. New kitchen, gas fired CH and woodburner, antique furniture and designer fabrics make a cosy all-season cottage. Garden with patio, and access to swings, trampoline and treehouse.
The cottage is set on one corner of a pretty village green, directly opposite the village pub, and is recently completely refurbished and redecorated to a high standard. It has a completely new kitchen, bathroom with over bath shower and sitting / dining room on the ground floor and one double and one twin room on the first floor. Gas fired central heating and wood burner make it very cosy for the chillier months, and the garden (with access to an even larger garden and unique treehouse) make it wonderful in the spring and summer. Antique furniture, vintage lighting and designer fabrics complete the look of a cosy country cottage. Guests should note that the cottage is 200 years old and the staircase is very characterful, tucked into the corner of the sitting room behind a door, but it is steep and almost a spiral (with strong rope bannister), but it can be challenging for those with limited mobility. Also, the only bathroom is on the ground floor.
The village is full of character and has a great community spirit (the pub/café opposite is West Norfolk's first community owned pub), and there are some wonderful historic properties close by, plus Norwich and the North Norfolk coast within driving distance.
  • A lovely little cottage in a beautiful village with all the charming quirks one would expect from a place of that age (wonky floor, tight staircase). Great garden with the best tree house I've ever seen! Would definitely stay here again.

    Robert2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Place was spot on for myself and my work colleague. Stairs are a bit tight so I wouldn't recommend for people with mobility issues. Overall, can not complain.

    John2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy cottage on a gem of a village green, a stone's throw from a lovely community pub.

    Timothy2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage. Very comfortable, pub over the road serves good food. Kitchen very well equipped! Shouldham is nice and quiet, overall we really enjoyed our stay.

    Katie2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely renovated period cottage with a large garden and a friendly pub over the road. Easy parking. Very fast central heating, cosy and warm. All the facilities for self catering - well equipped kitchen. Shower over bath, washing machine in out building. Steep half spiral stairs though, but this is mentioned in the listing. I would stay again.

    Anthony2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in a pretty village with a pub a stone's throw.

    Jess2019-08-26T00:00:00Z

    Hannah2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great couple of nights here. The barn is spacious and open, and incredibly clean. We had everything we needed and loved the thoughtful touches Susie had left to make us comfortable throughout our stay. We received great directions before checking in and found the barn easily. We will definitely look to stay again if visiting RAF Marham in the future. Thanks!

    Gemma2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place to stay. Wonderful personal touches, a very useful and very thoughtful hamper with all the things you need when you first get to the cottage. Susie was very helpful from the word go, and her communication was great, even though she was on holiday. The cottage itself is beautiful, bright and airy with so much open space, and it stayed so cool - even in the 32 degree heat! The bed was so comfortable. We definitely needed this break and I was so happy I chose The Barn. Thank you so much, will definitely stay again.

  • Lovely barn, in a beautiful area.

    Sally-Anne2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Susie's place was fab. Large, light and airy, tastefully decorated and well equipped. It was particularly clean and freshly decorated and very well maintained. Susie herself was a wonderful host; prompt communication, helpful information and a warm welcome when we arrived. We did not know North Norfolk and enjoyed exploring this beautiful area offering some of the most outstanding beaches we have visited in the UK. Thanks Susie (and for your sympathy re the car and helping to locate our keys!). We will be back...

    Kristina2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Susie is a great host and Barn Owl is brilliant accommodation. Light airy space, with everything you could ever need. Wonderful rural village location. I highly recommend a stay and hope to return again soon.

  • Very spacious, well equipped Lodge that's ideal for large groups/families. Nearby towns, pubs and attractions ideally located within a small journey. Recommended!

    Paul2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's place was amazing. The pictures here dont do it justice. The lounge, dining area, and kitchen are all open plan on the ground floor which was the best part. Especially if you have a big group. The bathroom is as big as a double bedroom. There was plenty of bedding and enough seating for 8 people. The nearby lake is a great perk. Check in/out was simple and easy. Communication was excellent. Would love to rent this place again.

  • Lovely place to spend with the family.. very comfortable and spacious yet cosy lodge. Lovely walks nearby and great place to relax and unwind.

    Jenny2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant house which was so cosy and calm. We had a very relaxing time and the location was great, it was quiet and ideal for walking in the woods and round the lake.. Would stay again for sure. The house is equipped with everything needed and was a great space to relax and have family time playing with all the board games provided, cooking and generally hanging out. Looking forward to staying again.

    Fleur2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful lodge in a nice quiet location, with plenty of room to cook, socialise, and sleep. The downstairs area is a lovely open-plan space that felt very warm and welcoming. The lake that the lodge is set on was great for an evening stroll as well!

    Harrison2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A very spacious cabin in a quiet location. Kiddies' playground on the complex met the needs of our little ones. The amenities within the cabin were excellent - books, dvd's, games galore! The beds were very comfortable, and the downstairs bathroom was large and had both bath and shower cubicle. Adequate parking for our three vehicles, and it was great to watch a water-ski enthusiast at her best on the lake!! We did an on-line supermarket shop which enabled us to be self-sufficient. A fabulous weekend. To be recommended. We hope to re-visit in the future.

    Kevin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was very spacious and very well equipped for our party of 7 adults and a baby. Everything worked (always a bonus!) and was very clean. I would definitely recommend this property for a peaceful, quiet retreat with comfort and a homely feel.

  • The property is stunning, furnished and decorated modernly with plenty of facilities. Very secure location that’s also peaceful and relaxing. Henry the pig is very sweet and there are plenty of places to visit nearby. The whole place was spotless and easy to navigate. Sarah and Dan where helpful whilst booking and with helping us find the property when we got lost.

  • Wow, what a place. Much better than I was expecting. Pictures don’t do it justice. Really spacious living space with everything you could ever need. With plenty of outdoor space which is a nice touch. Both the double rooms were massive with comfy beds. One had an en-suite. I’ve stayed in quite a few Airbnb’s now, most are always very clean but this was by far the cleanest. Absolutely spotless. In a very peaceful setting. Was only travelling for work but will keep note of this one to take the family.

The village has a church, park and pub serving both English and Thai food. There is a petrol station at the end of our drive with a small shop, selling papers, milk, etc. We are a short drive from Downham Market, from there you could catch the train to Kings Lynn, Ely, Cambridge or London King's Cross. This ensuite and bedroom is new. I decided to keep it light and simple for a calm and relaxing stay.It is attached to our house but a locked to our sitting room keeps it seperate. As we rarely use our sitting room it’s very quite. We are surrounded by fields and a tiny village primary school is our neighbour. We live by a main road which has a bus stop opposite our house. We are only 8-10 minutes away from big supermarkets and restaurants .Shouldham woods is minutes away, very popular for walks.
We have plenty off street parking and a large garden you can relax in. We also have a skandinavian BBQ hut where you can BBQ your own meal
Thereis a lovely pub and restaurant where you can eat delicious roast dinners or pub meals 4 min by car and also a favourite American restaurant/bar very near by. Kings lynn is a historic town with lots to see and within a 40 min drive to the north Norfolk coast. So much to see in Norfolk !
  • Had Stephen ( an employee ) stay here whilst working away. The thoughtfull touches are incredible, the accommodation is brilliant and edith is so accommodating. We are about 30 minutes from the Beautiful North Norfolk Coast Historic Kings Lynn is just 9 miles away. Castle Acre with Priory and Castle are 10 minutes from here as is the Market town of Swaffham. There are very nice pubs and restaurants Pentney and family-friendly activities. We are situated 3 minutes walk from the lakes where you can learn to water ski or watch the wild geese and swans. Fishing is very popular here and there are fabulous walks (we are 5 minutes from the Nar Valley Way)
The cabin is set alongside beautiful woodland and lakes, there are miles and miles of off road walks where children can run free and play. There is also a play park at the entrance to the park with swings and slides. Our cabin is a lovely homely space with lots of books and beautiful objects collected from my travels...we hope that it will feel like a home from home for our guests.it is cosy in winter with central heating and cool in the summer with lots of french doors and light flooding in....There are double beds in both bedroom one and two and a triple bunk (double on the bottom and single on top) in the third bedroom...there will be fresh towels for you to use and a welcome pack with ideas for walks, pubs, shops and details of the wonderful things Norfolk has to offer) When you arrive I will chat for as long as you require and give you as much information as you need to help make your stay a happy one. I also, always leave some croissant, orange juice, tea coffee and milk for you to use along with condiments from the fridge.
  • Christina’s place is cosy and unique. We loved it. Christina was helpful throughout and met us at check in. The location is quiet and rural, which we loved. King’s Lynn is convenient and there are some good walks to pubs.

    Emily2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful calm space to stay in a great location. Christina, whose home it is, has created a lovely calm place beautifully furnished and decorated and we felt privileged to be allowed to share it. It was perfect for a family get together, precious time with my elderly mum, me and my wife and our daughter, son in law and toddling one year old granddaughter. A great kitchen, eating and sitting together space, enough space for an early morning yoga session for one of us, gatecrashed by a curious granddaughter. Wonderful lakeside walks, a playground and bountiful blackberry picking within a short walk of the front door. Thank you so much - we hope to return and highly recommend this as a place to stay.

    Charlie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christina's cabin is beautiful, full of interesting trinkets and the decor is lovely. Really loved staying there and would definitely recommend.

  • We spend Easter weekend here and we could not be happier. Such a perfect place if you want to be in quiet, peaceful place with amazing surroundings.

    Lucia2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really wonderful time at Christina’s cabin. The cabin was a real home from home, with everything we needed and so warm and cosy. There is tons of space and it is located in a beautiful spot. We were there as a family of four, with our father in law staying as an extra guest for two nights. Our children (14 months and 6) loved the space, the double bed bunk bed, and huge bath. It is a real home from home and Christina was so thoughtful and left milk and eggs and bread. The location is amazing- we loved watching the robins hop across the decking, and we enjoyed lovely walks and bike rides and took up some of Christina’s tips for lovely pub lunches. A previous review mentioned the blinds in the bedrooms. It wasn’t an issue for us as we were there in winter, but the blinds are thin and let light in, so if you have young kids and you stay in summer you might want to bring your own blackout blinds. We managed to get very lost getting there (it’s actually very easy to find by the way... just us!), and Christina came and found us - she really went over and above as a host. I’d really recommend the cabin and we would definitely come back.

    Ellie2018-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Christina’s cabin is super cosy and made a perfect getaway for my multigenerational family. The size was perfect was us, and the living and kitchen space were cosy and inviting on the colder days. The cabin was also beautifully warm which was particularly welcoming on this cold weekend. We had a great time and would love to come again to stay for longer.

  • Superb stay at Cate’s! Beautiful house, spotlessly clean and some lovely thoughtful extras. The open plan kitchen area is really well equipped, nicely designed and a great social space, and the gardens are absolutely stunning! The lounge has a more traditional feel, in keeping with the building’s pub history. Bedrooms were very comfortable and relaxing with good quality bedding. Cate was a thoughtful and proactive host, check in was easy, and we are already planning our next visit!

The garden is huge and well established/maintained. The house was warm and welcoming with all the amenities you would need. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of thoughtful touches. The location is good for exploring North Norfolk and beyond. We would love to return and enjoy the space again

We did a long and circular walk and visited 2 local pubs which were very welcoming and cosy. Cate had left some goodies for us including beer and wine and plenty of wood for the fires which made the house warm and cosy. Very enjoyable weekend

Flint Cottage is a charming two bedroom home for four guests in the wonderful village of Gayton just a few miles south of Sandringham and twenty minutes from the stunning North Norfolk coast. We are lucky enough to have in the village, The Crown Inn, which is recently refurbished with an outstanding menu. The Cottage has been designed for luxury, ambience and fun stays.
The Cottage is chock full of features to maximise your comfort and enjoyment. There is an ice machine in the utility room, so you'll be able to have your wine chilling in the bucket on the antique stand. The chapel chairs have books in: fun dinner party ones for sharing around the table and short stories for bedtime. We have decanters for your tipple of choice and lots of games. There's a large telescope for a clear night sky and a pocket one for your jaunts. In the bookcase there are many books about Norfolk, as well as general fiction. There is an MP3 dock, large flat screen TV and an Amazon Firestick. We have a Clearview woodburner which has an easy to light facility. Logs are supplied for your toasty fires but there's underfloor heating too. For outdoors, there are rattan chairs with cushions and deckchairs. We have a traditional picnic hamper, camping chairs, a beach tent, bats and ball etc.
Gayton is a typical Norfolk village, peaceful but friendly. There's wonderful pub, The Crown Inn which gets great reviews on TripAdvisor and there's a fab butcher's/deli. Fish and chip shop too on the High Street and a shop by the petrol station.

Hosts were very welcoming and answered all our questions quickly. Tottenhill is a small village but there is a pub right next to the cottage and plenty of shops a short drive away. This was our first trip to Norfolk but we would definitely come back! Thank you!

  • I stayed here with my daughter and two very young grandchildren as it was situated minutes from my mother and sister whom we were visiting along with other family. The annex was just perfect, Charlotte provided a highchair and travel cot for the baby and the beds were very comfortable. The whole place was spotlessly clean, with a well equipped kitchen and brilliant shower. Charlotte provided us with a few provisions to get us going which was a lovely jesture.

This is an independent area of our home and is set up with all you need for your stay. It looks out over a lovely garden and has a your own patio area to sit with an electric awning because it is a very sunny at times. We are about two miles outside Kings Lynn and on a bus route in to town, but can also offer parking. The area has a lot of history to investigate and is only a short drive to the coast.
The Annex has its own front door and free parking. It is linked to our house but still has two bedrooms. One room has two single beds and the second bedroom has a double bed. Although we don’t have any en-suite we have a large family bathroom.

  • Lovely cottage in a peaceful little village. Close enough to Kings Lynn to access the shops etc. Recommend to anyone wanting a place to relax and unwind as well as a base to explore the area.

    Dale2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful chocolate box cottage, in a quaint village with its own ford and geese. The property seemed almost manufactured for the rental business, and delivered on every aspect. The owner has put a lot of thought into what is needed to make sure your stay is perfect. As said it was in a little village but only a short drive away from busy towns (Downham Market, Wisbech and Kings Lynn) and places of interest, including the coast.
