  • Helen was absolutely awesome! It was my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend so we decided to have a get away in mount shasta and this was the perfect place. very cute and romantic. yoga mats, kettle and tea bags, incense, candles, and a fridge. when we went up it had snowed and we had a heater, a snow shovel, and umbrella, and cute mugs to put out tea in. we absolutely loved our stay and hope to stay there again soon💓

  • Helen is a wonderful woman with a beautiful family. I felt very safe! My car battery died all the way at the top of castle lake and she and her daughter came and jumped my car. It saved my life !!! Thank you Helen ❤️

  • Helen's place is nice and right off the road to Mt. Shasta

  • Helen’s place was very cozy and welcoming, like a home-away-from-home. Although I didn’t really speak to anyone, the whole home and the space I stayed in felt community-oriented. Everything had thoughtful touches, and was inviting, it seemed. Logistically-speaking, Helen was flexible in my situation - I checked in last minute, and late, and requested a late check-out, which she was clear about her stance on (in this case, she was ok with it). I was very grateful, indeed, as I had been car-camping for a few days and really needed a respite. This is a great place, and I would stay here again!

We welcome you to our guest suite near downtown Mount Shasta! It offers a private entrance, cozy bedroom with your own bathroom, a full kitchen and a breakfast nook, plus a rustic deck all to yourself! Free high-speed Wifi. Free coffee and tea. There is onsite parking for one vehicle and plenty of street parking. So, relax, renew and make yourself at home!
Our guest suite is an excellent choice for responsible, budget minded travelers needing a convenient location in peaceful surroundings. It is situated only two blocks from Shasta Base Camp (offering outdoor gear, rentals, and a climbing gym) and Berryvale (a sweet grocery store and cafe). It is an easy walk (4 blocks) to all the local shops downtown. The bedroom is a cool place to chill out after a long day of exploring. You can sleep well on the queen sized, platform bed with 100% cotton sheets and a quality memory foam topper that makes the mattress super comfy. There are plenty of pillows and extra blankets to keep you warm and the unit is heated easily with a space heater if needed. There is a wall-mounted, 32 inch, flat screen, smart TV with Netflix and Hulu. It has room darkening curtains too, just in case you feel like sleeping in. The cheerful, fully stocked, 80’s era kitchen is simple and easy to use. It has a range, built-in oven, microwave oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, blender, bowls, pots and pans, cutlery, a fridge and a sink. Everything in the kitchen is fully functional and clean yet it is older and not without it's charms. The refrigerator isn’t glamorous and the faucet is a little quirky but everything is in working order. Coffee and tea are provided to our valued guests! Enjoy the mountain fresh air on the deck under the old growth oak and cedar trees. During your stay it is exclusively for you. The yard is currently a work in progress but it is large and filled with sunlight and it offers amazing views of the mountains across the valley. We use natural cleaning products, soaps and laundry detergent. We do occasionally need to use bleach in the bathroom but the products that we use in the other areas of the guest suite are kind to sensitive skin. Our guest suite is perfect for solo travelers or for couples! It shares a common wall with the main house but it has a private entrance and it is completely self-contained and separate. Come and go as you please!
  • We enjoyed our stay at Stephanie’s, very welcoming and has everything you need.

  • Our stay was exceptional. The host was prompt and very friendly. All our questions were answered clearly and thoroughly. Check-in was a breeze. The unit was very pretty, on a quiet street, and had everything we needed. Honestly I wish we could have stayed a couple more nights. Located right outside of town, we were only 15 minutes from the ski park, and within walking/quick drive distance of plenty of restaurants and other services. Nice big bathroom, and a kitchen added a real sense of comfort. All around a wonderful stay. We will absolutely stay here again if able. Thank you, Stephanie, so much. Made our trip so much better. 10/10. :)

This is a rural neighborhood with no sidewalks and land between the homes. You can walk the mile or so to town, great area for bike riding. My private Lane is not on GPS devices so please use my directions found on your itinerary or call for directions once you have my contact information. In winter months all wheel drive or chains may be needed on my Lane which is 1/10th of a mile long (only if it hasn’t been plowed). I keep it plowed but there are a couple of small short grades that can be icy but this condition is very infrequent. My Lane is completely paved and a new fence runs the length on either side. PLEASE, do not turn toward the blue house respecting their No Trespassing Signs. Thank you.
  • If in Mount Shasta, look no further. This house is a slice of heaven, in a quiet area, with delightful host Jill and her friendly dog Emma. This is quintessential Mount Shasta, it has a feel of a gingerbread house, absolutely magical, super cozy, warm and comfortable. We love to return, if visiting Mount Shasta again in the future.

    Sibylle2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Because we are returning for 4 more days, I will write a review then.

Fish in the Sacramento River! Local fly fishing expertise can be found right in town. Stop into the historic hardware store. It is worth a visit! We have an excellent coffee house in Mount Shasta; Seven Suns, located in South Mount Shasta or Yaks downtown. If you are headed south try Seven Suns for a coffee and a homemade slice of vegan zucchini bread for the road! The local Oven Bakery is within walking distance. Try the whole grain sourdough, spelt sourdough or one of their enormous scones! (Share with your partner!) If they are closed you can take some home by stopping at the Farmer's Market or shopping at The Mount Shasta Supermarket-a quaint old time grocery on Chestnut Street. Mount Shasta Pastry has the BEST bear claws, but you need to arrive early before they are all gone! They are crispy and loaded with cinnamon-not your usual bear claws! Weekly Farmer's Market starting around Memorial Day (Monday) through mid-October. Great place to stock up on local honey, produce, locally made sauerkraut, pottery, seedlings, sunflowers and breads. Open Thurs.-Sunday, 4PM until 9, but they stop baking pizza at 8:00 PM. Great atmosphere! Open until October when it is too chilly. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck of the Mount Shasta Resort or play a round of golf. The towns of Lake Shastina and McCloud have courses for the avid golfer. Ask your host Randy for his recommendations or if you need a person to play a round with! The town of McCloud is an excellent day trip. Drive to the McCloud Falls-a series of three beautiful waterfalls. Hike the 4 mile round trip or drive to each fall's overlook. Stop in to the tiny town of McCloud to shop at the Mercantile. if the White Mountain Cafe is open, they have great breakfasts and lunch. A new tavern and meat market is open on the deck of the Mercantile. You can make a reservation for dinner at the downtown Inn and B&B. If you are staying for several days, the 1 hour and 15 minute drive to Ashland, Oregon is well worth the time! Wine tasting, fabulous restaurants, beautiful Lithia Park, wonderful shops and boutiques make it a day to remember. For a quick lunch that is very inexpensive and our favorite quick spot in Ashland, be sure to order the Baja Tacos at "Agave." Nothing fancy, just consistently delicious food! Guacamole with their homemade tortilla chips is a MUST! Try their lava cake and be sure to add the house made coconut ice cream! You can wash this all down with a premium Margarita! If you visit during the holidays, Ashland's downtown village is a fairy land of beautiful lights-a MUST see! Ashland is known for the Shakespeare Festival and has theater of all kinds throughout the year. Order tickets for the Cabaret Theater in an old church for an affordable theater experience! Brunch of dinner is served and the theater is quite intimate-a great experience! A visit to Jacksonville, north of Ashland is another fun adventure. It is an adorable, historic, mining town, famous for the Britt Festival outdoor concert venue and many historic homes. Jacksonville was supposed to be the Oregon state capital but the railroad bypassed the town due to the rolling hills. Fun shops and eateries are located in downtown Jacksonville. The Britt is a gorgeous outdoor music venue hosting well-known musicians and symphony during the late spring and summer months. Pluto Cave; a lava cave feature, is an interesting place to explore, located north of Mount Shasta City. A non-commercial, non-managed site so caution is required for your safety. Find details in our trail guide in the cottage. Shasta Caverns are managed privately and the tour includes a boat ride, bus ride and guided cave tour. Tickets available online. Best to book the first tour of the day in summer-avoid the heat and enjoy a nearly private tour most weekdays if you book the 9AM tour.
  • We loved our stay at Laurie and Randy’s cottage. First they are the best hosts we have experienced in all our Air BnN travels. Thought of all the little touches that make a stay wonderful. Great communication. Clean well appointed place. Lovely groceries for breakfast (organic too!). And truly caring hospitality. Can’t go wrong with this place. We plan to stay there again next time we are in Mt. Shasta if the unit is available.

  • This last trip might have been our fourth (at least third) trip. Laurie and Randy's place will continue to be a destination for us in the coming years. They're such amazing hosts!

  • Outstanding hosts! Laurie and Randy went above and beyond. Their local recommendations were fantastic and the thoughtful touches in their magical cottage made our stay incredible. Very clean and cozy. The stove fireplace made evenings toasty warm. And the fresh eggs and delicious breakfast options made the start of the day wonderful. Cannot say enough about how wonderful Laurie and Randy are :) thank you for hosting us! We will definitely be back!

    Clau2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie and Randy's place is a very cozy and inviting. It was very clean and nicer than expected. The small details found throughout gave it the feel of being at home such as home made granola, robes, fresh flowers throughout, water by the bed, wine and chocolate. We loved the hot tub and can not wait to come visit it again! Thank you!

    Jessica2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Laurie and Randy's place. It was as great as our first stay. The house is very nice and the hot tub is a great to return to after a hike at Mt. Shasta. Highly recommend this place.

  • Such a great experience staying here! So many thoughtful touches to make our anniversary trip feel extra special. The hot tub and homemade granola were two of many highlights. They even heated the house for us upon our winter night arrival. Would definitely stay here again :)

TheNest is a beautifully designed space off the beaten path in Mount Shasta. It’s the perfect space for a couple as a romantic intimate get away and is also great for artistic types who’d like to unwind, find inspiration, and focus in a comfortable cozy place. I am very proud of what I’ve manifested here, and I hope you love it.
Beautifully decorated and renovated, TheNest in Mount Shasta is the perfect place to spend a romantic vacation away from it all, or the perfect space as an artist or writers retreat. This place has hosted numerous spiritual seekers and is a great place to ground after any spiritual work. The place is located on my property, right above my jewelry studio, where I work. Don’t worry, I will be in contact with you before I go hammering away in there! I live and work on the property, so I am here most of the time in case of any questions or needs. Just shoot me a text! I designed this space from the ground up, and am very proud of how beautiful and relaxing it is. I am an avid traveler and have stayed in Airbnb’s all over the world. This space is exactly what I look for in a vacation rental, and I hope you agree. For entertainment I have provided a flat screen tv and record player with many records to choose from. The power switch for the Record player is on the back left of the player. You are more than welcome to sign into your Hulu, Netflix, etc account on the tv. Just remember to log out before you leave! Also, there is WiFi, but living in the mountains, it is not a super strong signal and can occasionally go out. I encourage my guests to ‘unplug’ as much as possible, however if the WiFi is acting up, do not hesitate to contact me and I’ll do what I can to remedy the situation. This is a peaceful space, full of positive energy. Enjoy the kitchenette to make full meals, or check the guest book for restaurant recommendations. The view from your private patio looks straight at stunning Mount Shasta, and is perfect to enjoy an outside meal or morning coffee. If the weather is not suitable for outdoor dining, there are two TV trays in the apartment to be used as tables. No matter where you are in Mount Shasta, you’re guaranteed to hear the train. My place is no exception. The train runs right behind my house. It’s a part of the history of the area and most people think it’s charming. However if you’re a light sleeper, you may want to bring ear plugs or a white noise machine. There are stairs leading up to the loft, and the sleeping area is only accessible by a ladder, making this an unsuitable place for anyone with limited mobility, or children. I apologize. For the safety of children and the comfort of other guests, I’m sorry to have to say, NO CHILDREN AND NO PETS ALLOWED. (I’m not screaming at you! I’m making it bigger and easier to see, so that we don’t have mistaken bookings!) My cancellation policy is strict, and I’ve had some unfortunate bookings where people didn’t see the part about no pets and booked anyway, causing headaches for both of us.
  • A friend and I did a girls' weekend getaway to Shasta and stayed at Jen's place. It was perfect - central to all of the places we wanted to go, and a cozy, clean, fun place to come back to. The space is so well decorated with incredible attention to detail and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay, plus some fun extras like the record collection! Jen was very responsive in our communications leading up to the trip. Highly recommend!

    Anne2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jenna’s place was truly wonderful. Her airbnb house is absolutely stunning, and it’s a perfect romantic getaway surrounded by the tranquility of the « magic mountain » which is Shasta. Highly highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit the area!

    Jules2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most incredible stay!!! The Nest is absolutely adorable and we had the best time ever!!! Jen was so easy and kind to work with!!! :)

    Kristi2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at.... oh my gosh! So worth it.

    Michelle2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I decided on a last minute weekend trip to the snow with our toddler and are so happy that we stumbled Yoon’s jen’s place and that it was available! She doesn’t usually allow small children and it can potentially be unsafe for a small child but we had no issues with our little one but we had to keep an eye on her at all times especially up in the loft. We had a wonderful stay, Jen responded to messages very quick and she’s put a lot of love into her studio! Such a beautiful and serene getaway! Definitely recommended and we hope to visit again!

    Aimi2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I gifted myself a solo getaway to “the nest” to simply relax, unwind and surround myself in the majestic energies of Mt. Shasta. Jen’s space is so thoughtfully destined, it truly is an artful masterpiece. Her space really does provide everything you will need. I feel inspired, calm & rejuvenated from my stay and am already looking forward to coming back with my honey. Thank you, jen for creating such a magical place for us to come to.

    Dayna2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Nest is everything you'd ever hope for! Beautiful and cute enough that you can't stop taking pictures but it feels perfectly like home.

    Curtis2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot gush about this place enough. Thoughtfully decorated, surrounded by beautiful trees, mountains and heaps of snow! This is hands down my favorite Airbnb experience thus far! Jen has poured so much love into this so space and you feel it as soon as you walk in. We cannot wait to return!

Nestled at the end of a quiet country road just outside of Mt Shasta, this lovely guest house offers a quiet, cozy, and relaxing space with Mountain View’s in almost every direction. The hand-crafted interior includes a full kitchen and gas range, full bathroom, queen size bed and full couch for extra sleeping space.
This quiet, private space is practically brand new and hand-crafted. It offers two full parking spaces off road. It also has a small deck and patio - great for outdoor meals.
Our space is at the end of a quiet, country road some traffic is minimal. There is a main house located further up the driveway.
  • Beautiful place, clean, stylish, comfortable, and peaceful. I love the decor as well. Highly recommend it for a short or long stay. My host, Lori and Terez, are very responsive and friendly. Their place made my trip memorable, thank you.

  • This little guesthouse was absolutely clean and had everything a person or couple would need as a place to stay in the area. Centrally located to lots of nice places to visit in the area and with nice amenities like reliable WiFi, a nice kitchen and a very comfortable bed. The air smells like pine trees and if you walk to the top of the driveway you can even see the top of Mt. Shasta. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

This newly remodeled cottage is light-and-modern on the inside, and cabin-in-the-woods rustic on the outside. It is perfect for someone passing through town who wants to be walking distance to the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, Yaks, Hedge Creek Falls, or the Sacramento River. Staying longer? Then chillax in this comfy and quiet 384 sq ft tiny & tidy home after a day of exploring the trails, lakes, rivers, and slopes of Siskiyou County. Small enough for one, but can sleep up to 4 chummy adults.
This unique space shows pride of ownership. Guests will find this "tiny home" to be clean and comfortable. Modern design, subdued decor, and lots of windows make this space feel much bigger than the 384 sq ft footprint. There is both shared and private outdoor patio space, and the cottage backs up to City of Dunsmuir owned forested property that provides access to the City Park, Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, sports park, tennis court, Sacramento River access, and trail to Tauhindauli Park. You can also access the road that takes you directly to Hedge Creek Falls (about a mile North) and Mossbrae Falls (a little over a mile North). Guests can use patio furniture, sports shed, and gas barbeque grill. Host lives in adjacent house and is available for questions or amenities to make your stay more comfortable.
Extremely safe and quiet North Dunsmuir neighborhood. Back of property borders City of Dunsmuir property with access to forested area and places of interest like the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, the Sacramento River, and Dunsmuir City Park. The hum of 1-5 is not that far off, but it sounds more like white noise than traffic.
  • Nice little place in a good location. Loved being able to walk to Yak’s for dinner down the street. The cottage has a little slope that takes some getting used to, but it wasn’t a big deal.

Peaceful, and lovely, the cottage sits on 3 1/2 acres amid organic gardens, woods, wetlands, pond and rushing mountain creek. Filtered views of Mt Shasta, 2 miles to downtown; close to amazing lakes, trails, waterfalls and mineral springs. Designed for quiet adults coming to the area for retreats, or to explore natural wonders & sacred sites, (no partiers or smokers). Chemical and scent free. Comfy, beautifully furnished, organic linens and toiletries. Private fenced garden area. Sweet & clean!
The Garden Cottage is a magical, cozy, stand-alone cottage that sits on the edge of the pasture, pond and gardens on a budding permaculture property. It is ideal for a single traveler or a couple sharing the Queen-sized bed. Appropriate for quiet, peaceful travelers who are coming to the area for retreats, to immerse themselves in nature, experience the energy of the mountain, and get away from city life. (We are not designed for travelers with children or pets, more than two adults, or partiers. This is a non-smoking property inside and outside. Prefer non (or very light) drinkers. ) It's the best of both worlds being just a short drive to downtown and yet completely off the beaten path, for a deeply restful and restorative stay. Rooms include a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, walk-thru closet, living room/kitchen combo and ensuite bathroom, (a curtain separates it from the living areas, rather than a door). The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. Kitchen includes mini-fridge, sink, and stove with oven. Full set of kitchen ware (dishes, silverware, pots, pans, blender, toaster, bakeware) provided for your convenience. For your comfort, the cottage has heat, A/C, and a mattress-pad heater for chilly nights. Your outside space includes a fenced private garden sitting area complete with outdoor table and chairs, garden bench, and a double hammock, which is incredible for star gazing after dark when weather permits. Sit outside and watch the mountain turn pink at sunset, (or watch from your bed through the window). At any given time in or around the pasture/meadow area, you may see a family of wild geese (they come every year to raise their goslings), deer, bald eagles, red tail hawks, osprey, blue heron, and many other bird species. Especially in summer months, the bird-song and bird watching is amazing. Occasionally we have mini-horses in the pasture too. The owner's home and a second Airbnb cottage are also located on the property, but each dwelling has its own completely private yard for seclusion. We're close by if you need anything, but we give you your space and privacy during your stay. Wifi provided, but this is a great place to unplug if you can! No TV. Cell service is great here, at least for Verizon and AT&T. There's a parking spot for your car next to the cottage. Even though we're just a couple of miles from downtown, you'll want to have a car if you are staying here because we're in a very rural location on the edge of a mountain wilderness.
Peaceful, quiet, rural, countryside. The property is on the edge of wilderness, yet only a five minute drive to downtown Mount Shasta. Very dark and quiet at night, and you can usually see millions of stars from the cottage porch. If you love nature, and you're seeking a clean, classy, comfortable and private space within a short drive to all of the magical sacred sites around Mount Shasta, you'll love it here. If you're coming for a workshop or retreat, you'll feel very nurtured by the energy of this property.
  • Great place. Clean, comfortable and extra added thoughtful touches were made. Private garden, great spot to see the stars and you can hear the nearby creek. It was peaceful and felt very welcoming! I will stay there again.

  • The Garden Cottage became was a warm and cozy haven, with everything we needed, during the coldest part of the year! On a clear day Mt Shasta was visible right outside our door!! We awoke on Xmas morning to a blanket of white snow on the surrounding fields and trees, with the sound of the rushing creek nearby. Sylvia invited us (and another visitor staying in the adjacent rental on the property) into her home for Xmas brunch. It was a totally unexpected and delightful experience. So many activities and natural beauty to explore in the area---gorgeous lakes, waterfalls and grottoes; abundant wildlife and nature everywhere. An otherworldly and unforgettable experience! Highly recommended.

  • This place is cozy, relaxing and romantic. Redwood trees surround the place. Nicky gave us suggestions of things to do (thanks Nicky!). It’s a short walk to Mossbrae falls along the railroad, and the walk to the falls is peaceful and beautiful. Except an antique yellow locomotive pulling oils and goods comes along the railroad track a few times a day, we would just stop and watch it (trains are cool). We ate at Yak on the 5 (good burgers) and could walk there too. Loved how there were very few people, maybe because we came in November, but we appreciated the privacy. Nicky’s touches were great. There were board games and cards, we played a few. Also it was a full kitchen with some goodies left for us there. There was interesting art on the walls. This is a fantastic retreat near Shasta and we would definitely stay here again.

Roll out the yoga mats and meditation cushions provided, and experience the serenity of being away from it all. The location is the best of both worlds being just a short drive to downtown and yet completely off the beaten path, for a deeply restful and restorative stay in Mt Shasta. At night, weather permitting, swing in the 2-person hammock and watch the night sky blaze with millions of stars. A great deal of love, energy and mindfulness has gone into creating a space that is delightful, uplifting, and uniquely supportive especially for those coming to Mount Shasta for meditation retreats or other spiritual exploration, and who may need a special place to integrate and ground while all is unfolding for them. It's equally supportive of writers and others who want to cocoon themselves away from distractions, and for nature explorers. (This is not a party space, and a non-smoking property inside and out, so no smokers, or recreational drug users. Prefer non (or very light) drinkers. Not for travelers with children or pets.) The space is an approximately 600 sq. ft. spacious, studio with enclosed bathroom. No TV. We highly encourage unplugging as best you can while enjoying the Mount Shasta experience. Cell service is excellent, at least as far as Verizon and AT&T are concerned. There's a parking spot for your car next to the Carriage House. Even though we're just a couple of miles from downtown, you'll need to have a car if you are staying here because we're in a very rural location on the edge of a mountain wilderness. When driving in and out, please observe the very low speed limit on the private road and driveway, which protects the deer and other wildlife in the area.
Our neighborhood is tucked away on the outskirts of Mt Shasta on a private road. It's very quiet generally, and most properties have at least several acres. It's definitely a rural location, even though it's so close to town, and because we're tucked into the foothills, it's a place where wildlife abounds.
  • I’m so grateful to have found this place! Not only is the carriage house itself absolutely beautiful - down to the smallest detail - but Sylvia was such a joy to meet, and made me feel welcome and taken care of during my stay. Sylvia clearly has put a lot of thought into making her space a quiet, comfortable refuge for those looking to connect to the Mt. Shasta area. From the beautiful decor and thoughtful amenities, such as yoga mats and meditation pillows, to fantastic local recommendations, she made my visit to Mt. Shasta exactly what I was looking for. I will be back for sure!

  • Sylvia's space is one of the best AirBnB's I have ever stayed at! I cannot imagine staying at a more perfect place in Mt. Shasta. The cottage is super comfortable, has so many thoughtful touches and I really appreciated how much Sylvia provided: great cooking pots/pans, all toxic free toiletries and cleaning products, beautiful decorations, super comfortable bed and lounge, wonderful heating system, beautiful property. I feel like I could go on and on about how much we loved staying here. Very convenient location to everything in the area, including downtown Mt. Shasta City. We can't wait to come back!

    Jenny2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay in Mt. Shasta. Super close to downtown yet it feels like you are staying at a remote cabin. The house itself is beautiful inside and out.

    Alex2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space with thoughtful touches in a perfect location for a Shasta getaway. My partner said this is the best we have ever stayed in. Bravo!

    Ken2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • My best stay in a Airbnb so far. Great place with so much wonderful details. Had a very serene and beautiful time. Sylvia was a wonderful host.

    Rebecca2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • I was at the carriage house during a snowstorm. Sylvia was so accommodating and loaned me boots and ski poles, had snow plow get my car out and offered me a refund if I wanted to stay in town. I had an amazing experience that I will remember forever

    Diane2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sylvia’s place was the perfect place to explore Mt Shasta. She has lots of local resource materials available at the carriage house. The pictures can not do this little haven justice. I loved every minute of my stay.

    Penny2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible space! Very clean and comfortable. Sylvia gave us great recommendations and we really enjoyed exploring Mount Shasta! We really look forward to returning. Thanks so much for the great hospitality!

Charming and cozy cottage, perfect for romantic getaways, outdoor adventures and family vacations. A great place to create long lasting, special memories with family and friends. Conveniently located a few miles from town, Lake Siskiyou, and a short drive to the Mount Shasta Ski Park. Situated on acreage with tall lush trees that provide a peaceful, private setting which allows for outdoor entertainment on the deck.
Kitchen equipped with amenities of home including a gas range, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, various cooking utensils and small appliances. The loft and the downstairs bedroom each have a comfortable queen size bed. The vaulted ceiling gives the cottage a light and spacious feel. For the cold winter nights the home is heated with a monitor heater and a cozy wood burning stove. During the warmer months there is a portable a/c unit for your comfort. Enjoy your stay at The Hideaway!
Our neighborhood is surrounded by amazing nature and our guests get to meet quite a few “friends” including baby and mama deers, bucks, rabbits, squirrels etc. Although there are a few neighbors, it’s like being alone in the middle of the forest tucked away in your own private, secluded retreat. Our acreage is magical, peaceful and quiet and the landscape is full of evergreen and deciduous trees.
  • Chase and Melissa were amazing hosts. Their speedy communication, attention to detail, and overall welcoming nature was more than we expected! Such a cozy, CLEAN, stay. We were without need and truly had a wonderful, relaxing, time during such a hectic time in everyone’s lives. We will absolutely be returning to this magical place again.

    Raquel2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • After our lovely stay this past weekend, it makes sense why Chase and Melissa are super hosts. The home was even better and cozier than we expected, they had left some treats, firewood and suggestions for us. The internet wasn't wonky and had fun options for entertainment. The home was very clean and was exactly what we needed for the weekend. Chase and Melissa were great on communication and even helped us when we got a bit snowed in. We'll definitely be back and we'll bring friends and family along too :)

    Sasha2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay. Cosy, but didn't feel small. Our children were delighted with the upstairs loft space to themselves. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to cook with, the wood burning stove was lovely to use after a day of snow play, Chase and Melissa were terrific about communicating, the washer/dryer in the unit was a great addition so we didn't have to bring snow clothes home wet. Beds were comfortable as was living room an dining room and the place was immaculately clean. We had a wonderful time and would return in a heartbeat.

    Bruno2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chase and Melissa have a beautiful place nestled in the forest. I don’t think the photos do this place justice because it’s even better in person. There’s so much natural light that comes in that gives it a lot of ambiance without even trying. When it’s cold you can just light up the stove and create a different atmosphere as well. The kitchen had everything you needed if you wanted to stay in and cook — cookware, utensils, spices, etc. So whatever we were in the mood for the cabin was able to provide for us. Their place is also a short drive from the town of Mt. Shasta and from the ski resort. There are plenty of things to do in the area so you will not be disappointed to come here.

    Carl & Andrea2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Strongly suggest you stay here!!

    Gabriel2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Just spent a really relaxing time at chase and melissas place with my family. The location is great, close to everything mount Shasta, downtown, the mineral springs etc. and the house itself is very cute! Big windows, fire place, very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

  • This is a perfect getaway in Shasta. Private and Quiet but close to everything. The cabin is so cozy and warm. Well appointed and stocked with all of the essentials and more. Great hosts with a very special property nestled in the forest. Worth a return visit!

Get away from it all! Live in the round in this secluded 30ft diameter luxury yurt with attached bath yurt, amongst the cedars on Eddy Creek bordering on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. We encourage guests to stay at least three nights if possible. Having only one full day here is too little to explore the area and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Weekly rate is $800.
Living and sleeping in the round, surrounded by woods, listening to the creek, sitting on the deck, warming at the outdoor fire at night, watching the stars...staying at the yurt is the best gift you can give yourself. Completely private. The yurt kitchen is supplied with staples such as olive oil, spices, rice, oatmeal, teas and enough coffee to get you started. It is equipped with a coffee grinder with cone and filters, french press, Mr Coffee coffee maker, microwave, electric range, toaster oven and standard size fridge. Heat source is a monitor heater and a wood stove. Either or both keep the yurt toasty in the winter. We supply a small amount of firewood for the wood stove to get you started. All bed and bath linens for use inside the yurt are provided.
We love living in luxury in the wild. Our most numerous neighbors are the blacktail deer and jack rabbits. With 40 acres, our nearest human neighbors are some distance away.
  • We love staying at the yurt! It is such a magical round space. It feels cozy & spacious at the same time. Jean has thought of everything you could possibly need with many thoughtful extras. This was our 2nd stay & we would love to visit again.

    Cherié2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Magical place. We cooked in and had a splendid night- loved the place so much we stayed “in” the next night and ate grilled cheese. Close to Stewart Mineral Springs which is A+ too. This place is unique and will not disappoint. Our dogs loved the woods and the stream and the fire stove- All good.

    David2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our time at the yurt was exactly what we needed to decompress. Jean greeted us as we arrived, gave us a few household tips and then left us to explore. We could not have asked for a more comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

    Kathy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jean’s yurt was exactly the kind of accommodations my friends and I were seeking for a deep, meditative communion with nature!! Not only were we excited about the gorgeous location and powerful energy field near Mount Shasta, the yurt itself included such thoughtful touches to turn even a brief weekend stay into an indulgent getaway for us. Jean was incredibly kind, gracious and welcoming. We very much appreciated her tips and recommendations. We definitely look forward to making our next reservation!!

    Joy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start... this Yurt is amazing! Nestled back away from the roads and sounds it offers a peaceful tranquil setting we will never forget! We were glad to wake up to a blanket of snow and had no problem keeping warm in the toasty Yurt. Our pup loved all the land to explore and we enjoyed the short hike to the creek which gave us a peaceful feel. Listening to the wind in the trees as well as the creek from bed was a favorite. All good vibes here 💙 We will be back again for sure!

    Meghan2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time at Jean's yurt. It was cozy and warm, beautiful area, and so fun. We enjoyed the creek, singing around the fire pit, looking up at the sky through the windows of the yurt, and space enough for five people. We highly recommend this awesome yurt. Thank you, I'll see you again in March.

    Karen2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt offers a comfortable, private and natural setting. There is hiking and exploration to be had just out the door, or nearby. Magnificent views of Shasta are everywhere. The yurt was clean and cozy.

    Gary2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place. A great place to relax and be close to nature, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. It was really beautiful in the fall as well, highly recommend.

Faeryvale Cottage is across the street from Berryvale organic market, a 5 minute stroll to Bistro 107 (fantastic casual fare and local craft brews on tab) and all the downtown shops. Try out the Pipeline Craft Taps and Kitchen downtown. It is delicious and has a hip vibe which is a great addition to the downtown area! Try the Thai Cauliflower appetizer! Amazing! Say Cheese Pizza, just around the corner from the cottage, has scooped ice cream-(something lacking in Mount Shasta), though you can get a cone at Rite Aid. In the summer time, best frosty cones in Mount Shasta are at the little store in the Lake Siskiyous campground! Great place to hang on a beach with kiddos, entrance fee is 1.00 per person for day use or 7.00 for the huge inflatable water adventure toys at the beach great for the for. There is a great little grill/cafe with a surprising menu and beer on tap. If you hike the 7 mile trail along the 8, year olds and up to teens! The campground is your halfway point if you hike the trail around Lake Siskiyou. Stop for a beer or an ice cream to power the completion of the hike! Beautiful trail, mostly level and shaded. Blackberries to nibble in August! Yaks Mount Shasta C Koffee and Eatery downtown has a bustling vibe, good coffee and food items. Seven Suns Coffee and Cafe, south of the cottage, has great coffee and yummy breakfast and lunch items and a lovely shady patio for warm, sunny days. A bit of a longer walk but very doable! Lily's restaurant is next door to Seven Suns. If you are in town on Wednesday, call for a reservation because it is SUSHI night! The fish is flown in from Hawaii and the sushi is great! The food is good the rest of the week, and the outdoor seating in summer is great as it is generally well shaded at dinner time. A little pricey, but heck, you are on vacation, right? If you are here Thursday through Sunday and are a foodie, you MUST make a reservation at Cafe Maddalena in nearby Dunsmuir. Check out their seasonal menu online. The food is outstanding, and they can suggest the perfect wine pairings. A tiny little bistro that is a big surprise to find in Dunsmuir! Excellent service! Let me know if you want me to call the chef for a reservation for you! You WILL need one! Check out the local thrift stores, and wander around our hardware stores; Ace and Solanos. BUT, the best is the Dunsmuir Hardware Store! Vintage building, and all kinds of memorabilia-browse everything from old photos, kitchen items, tools, garden supplies...you name it, a real blast to the past! Rent outdoor gear at The Fifth Season, an easy walk from the cottage. Poncho and Lefkowitz is a stationary food truck-like eatery a quick walk south from the cottage. Interesting menu items for a quick bite. They have tables outside. Mount Shasta Yoga is next door to Berryvale Market. A great studio on the top floor of the Petals Flower Shop. Check out the classes online or pop in to see what is offered during your stay. They have extra mats and yoga essentials to use. The wetland walkway in Sisson Meadow is accessed by heading to Chestnut St, one block east of ACE Hardware's back store, head up the street to the end and walk past a historic home/vacation rental. Great view of the Mountain! Quiet spot to enjoy the view, or bird watch. A little known spot!
  • Absolutely amazing cottage..stop looking and book! You won’t regret it!

  • We really loved all of the personal touches. Hubby was super excited about half and half in the fridge for coffee in the morning! Speaking of coffee I think they provided five different local (and delicious) options! And the homemade gluten free vegan granola was ridiculously yummy! There were plenty of guide books available to help us pick just the right adventures in the area. The location of the house right in downtown was so awesome and convenient!! Don’t forget to feed the jays (with the provided peanuts!!) watching them through the window while snuggled next to the fire was really fun. Overall fun city, great hikes and lovely-thoughtful home!

    Karissa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Faeryvale was nothing short of spectacular. Laurie and Randy go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and comfortable with lots of small touches from a welcome note, some chocolates, and knowing they’re close by if anything comes up. The place was stocked with their home made granola, fresh farm eggs, local coffee and bread, which made for some really tasty breakfasts! The house was super clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. We can’t wait to come back for another stay!

    Josiah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Faeryvale was everything we could have hoped for and more! Little touches that put it over the top:)

    Kristen2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot! Faeryvale is right in the heart of Mount Shasta and has everything you need on vacation. Also they had a great selection of local, quality breakfast foods for us when we arrived. Would recommend to anyone coming to the area!

  • Absolutely wonderful experience! It’s our best ever Air’bnb stay. Everything was perfect- cottage, breakfast, location, communication. Kids friendly as well. Best place to stay at Mount Shasta for small families.

Huge trees on the terraced lot. Two decks (Front and back). There is a gas BBQ on the back deck. Very peaceful! Fenced back yard for pets. Walking distance to the center of town. Five blocks to the Sacramento River.
The house is set back in the lot and has two bedrooms with Queen size beds in each. It has one bathroom with a tub and shower. There is a washer and dryer inside.
Castle Street is a quiet street about 3 blocks from Dunsmuir Ave. There is an excellent selection of restaurants! The Dunsmuir Brewery is excellent! If you like Mexican food, La Perla de Nayarit is great! For breakfast I like the Cornerstone Cafe. Yaks is very good but a bit pricey! If you have kids, the Burger Barn and the Pizza Factory are great!
  • Comfy, private, convenient.

  • Loved our stay here. James was great and very easy to get into contact with. Love that it’s pet friendly and that he had a kitchen we could cook in. If you have big dogs or escape artists, the fence is pretty short and easy for them to get out of, but perfect to keep them enclosed while you’re out there with them, and plenty of great things to do while you’re in town to wear them out! Super close to downtown and the beds were comfy. We had a great time.

    Kelsey2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely using this place again!

    Maria2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Place is small and cozy; has a great little fire stove for heat. Beds are creaky but good. Kitchen is well stocked. Roku remote had dead batteries and we easily found some replacements in a kitchen drawer. It’s rustic, with a steep driveway - exactly as advertised. Great basecamp for skiing/hiking in the area.

    Ajia2020-02-01T00:00:00Z

  • The Castle Ave house was perfect for our trip. It was tucked away from the street a bit for a more private feel. The fenced in yard was helpful for our dog. Bed was comfortable. The kitchen was a good size for cooking meals and had all supplies needed. The fireplace was so lovely. It really heats the place up nicely and gives a great smell and cozy feel. James have great recommendations for local food and was easy to get ahold of for questions. Great experience:)

Spring-fed pastures and ponds, meadows, forest groves and mountains. Unfiltered, untreated artesian spring-water pumped directly from below ground to the house. Perfect for private retreats, artists, crafters and outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate a rustic house. Town is a 10-minute drive and hiking, skiing, lakes, rivers about 20 - 40 min. Joey, the groundskeeper, manages Airbnb, lives on site in separate quarters and can be reached by phone.
Joey, the groundskeeper, will try to coordinate the calendar to arrange for guests to have the space to themselves, but this can't be guaranteed. One or more of the owners of the property may be present in the house and sharing the kitchen during your stay. The house is a little rustic and unfinished but perfect for those who enjoy luxurious views out each large window and comfortable furnishings in exchange for slight inconveniences. For example, the driveway gate requires opening and closing manually. Guests are welcome to park outside of the gate and walk through the adjacent pedestrian gate. The front room boasts a gorgeous pond view and is furnished to relax and enjoy. Lovely Asian carpets protect the unfinished flooring and the carpeting throughout the rest of the house awaits a facelift but is confidently clean. At this time, sheets and towels can be laundered upon request but we cannot offer access to laundry facilities. Although we welcome people to enjoy the 20 acres please be advised this is a wild and agricultural piece of land and we cannot guarantee anyone's safety if they choose to walk the property. Doing so is at their own risk! Thank you.
10 minutes from town, five minutes from I-5. The freeway and train are audible. This is a rural-agricultural neighborhood and it’s not uncommon to hear tractors, chickens, chainsaws, etc. Don’t worry, major, loud work around Aspen Grove Farm will not be performed during guests stay! A small nursery, Healthy Gardens, runs their business out of the greenhouse on the property and will be present working most days during the growing season (February to June). We have a neighbor that grazes her horses on the property. The ponds are a never ending source of entertainment. We stock them with trout for our own personal fishing and they are frequented by Grey Herons, Hawks and Osprey. • I will have to admit I was a little nervous when we turned off of the paved road onto the gravel driveway, but after checking out this somewhat rustic home and country setting we couldn't be happier. The place was clean, comfortable, simple and nostalgic.

This beautiful, peaceful cottage is separate from the home and sits on 2 1/2 acres surrounded by trees, meadows, wildlife, and views. Filtered views of Mt Shasta, 2 miles to downtown; close to ski resort, golfing, amazing lakes, trails, waterfalls & sports. Designed for one to two quiet adults coming to the area for rejuvenation, decompressing, or to explore natural wonders. Completely new furnishings. A private entrance location gives you a sense of real privacy. Property is all non-smoking.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - During COVID-19 times: We want you to know we have your back and are diligently doing our part to maintain a safe location to all of our Air BnB guests by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, door knobs, countertops, cabinet handles, etc.) before you arrive. In addition, we are not allowing new guests for three days after the last guest has checked out. This allows proper airing out. We ask that if you have not been in self-quarantine at home for a minimum of fourteen days, using the highest precautions to protect yourself and those around, to please withhold your request to stay here until this virus has passed. We are doing everything possible, short of closing down completely, to maintain the highest standards in safety for ourselves and for you. Thank you for understanding. The Mountain Cottage is a peaceful place to relax and rejuvenate. It was designed and built connected to the backside of the garage as a three-room Granny Unit/guest house. This space is ideal for a single traveler or a couple sharing a Double-sized bed. Appropriate for quiet, clean, mature, responsible, travelers who are coming to the area to immerse themselves in nature, surrounding areas, experience the energy of the mountain, play golf, mountain bike, kayak, ski, snowshoe, spiritual retreats, and/or to get away from city life. We are not designed for travelers with children, multiple pets, or more than two adults. This is a non-smoking property inside and outside. No exceptions. It's the best of both worlds being just off of Hwy 5, just a short drive to downtown and yet completely off the beaten path, for a deeply restful and restorative stay. Perfect for a traveler looking for a night to stay. Rooms include a bedroom with a double-sized bed, sitting area, ensuite kitchenette, and bathroom. The private bathroom is spacious and has a very comfortable shower. The kitchenette is perfect for heating, storing and preparing small, easy meals. It includes a mini-fridge, microwave, small toaster/oven, coffee, and tea. Dishes, silverware, and basic kitchen accessories are provided for your convenience. I apologize, but to those who want to bring an arsenal of electronic cookware, the kitchenette truly isn’t designed for this. You’re welcome to bring your own grill for grilling outside on the porch. For your comfort, the cottage has a wonderful mattress-pad heater for those possible chilly nights. If it’s winter, you’ll want to pack some warm house slippers or socks for the mornings. Your outside space includes views of the mountain, trees, an open meadows, filtered views of Mount Shasta and the ski resort, two sitting areas; one down below and another on the patio. Most every sunrise is stunning here. If you keep your blinds open, you won’t miss an opportunity to be awed. On beautiful mornings, the deck table and chairs are perfectly positioned to take in a sunny and warm breakfast experience. At any given time in or around the pasture/meadow area, you may see a family of deer, coyote, bald eagles, red tail hawks, Canadian geese, osprey, blue heron, hummingbirds, and many other bird species. Resident Bats can also be viewed at dusk as they navigate by sonar from Spring through late Fall. I’m very sorry, but WiFi is not provided here because of the location. Cell service is great though, at least for Verizon and AT&T. • A perfect small cottage for a weekend away! Carolyn was a lovely host and we had a wonderful time!

    Meghan2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyns place was WAY better than we expected. We decided to stay in Mount Shasta last minute on our road trip and her place was luckily available. It was a nice getaway home that was quiet and relaxing. The views were beautiful. I plan on staying again in the future :)

    Gabriele2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing getaway location… Easy to access from the freeway but still feels miles away from the world. We got up for a late season skiing trip, and the location was perfect to get to the slopes. The house had a great set up. Since it was only a kitchenette we brought up our slow cooker (although Carolyn also has one to borrow) And had an amazing meal waiting for us when we got back from the slopes. Caroline provided lots of snacks, chocolate, and even a bottle of wine. What a great place to get away to.

    Andrew2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn's place is awesome. It feels off the grid, which is great, but it's close to town and other points-of-interest like Lake Siskiyou and the Shasta Ski Park. Carolyn is a great host, and provided us with excellent local suggestions in her guidebook, and went above-and-beyond regarding hospitality (thanks for the breakfast!). The property itself is very peaceful and picturesque, and the sunrises from the cottage are really amazing. I'd definitely come back in the future!

  • Carolyn’s place is truly a gem. Her quiet bungalow is well appointed, nicely decorated and I loved all of the special added touches. Carolyn is a wonderful host and so personable. This is truly a place that will not disappoint!

  • Carolyn is such a gem and her guest-house is gorgeous, private, and has a beautiful view. Very nice, clean, and the bed was so comfy i am about to get the same one for my house! Our pup also loved the huge yard. ☺️ You’ll love your stay here. Very peaceful.

  • This is a great little detached cabin that is perfect for a couple and their dog. Carolyn was very responsive, very friendly, and the place looks much better than they do in the pictures. You can tell Carolyn really takes care of the place and the nice little touches inside really add to the charm. Would recommend

This is a peaceful space full of positive, radiant energy. Take a walk behind the property into the expansive green space or across the street for a sunset walk in Sisson Meadow. Or hang out on the patio and read a good book (we have a large private library of mostly spiritual books), with the mountain's awe-inspiring presence in the background. If you are looking for a nicely decorated, clean, tranquil place with everything you need to settle down for a few days, you have found it!
**As a reaction to the Coronavirus, we have switched to antibacterial bleach cleaners** Please read the entire description including the "Other Things To Note" section before booking my place to make sure it is the right fit for everyone:) The space is the left condo in a 2 unit building. It is completely private with its own entrance and patio. Please be aware that the adjoining property and pond are not accessible so please do not go over there. You will park on the left half of the driveway only, or on the street. Once in the condo, you will feel all your worries lift away. There are many geodes and crystals placed throughout the space and lots of art and statues from worldly travels. I have decorated with relaxation and comfort in mind. Both bedrooms are upstairs. The "blue" room has a writing desk if you need to get some work or writing done. The master has an epic mountain view, a large walk-in closet, and a door to the bathroom. The bedside lamps have charging capabilities and one of the bedside tables in the master has charging dock in the back of it. There is no washer and dryer available for guest use. The heat and air conditioning are controlled by the wall thermostat in the living room. Please be mindful of the earth and my pockets by turning the air conditioning off when you leave the house and the heat to 60 when not home. Also, please do not crank the A/C or heat. Be reasonable and know that we are in the mountains. We wear sweaters inside in the winter and leave the house around 70. And in the summer, we open the windows at night and only use the A/C in the middle of the day. The kitchen is all set up with everything you need to cook a great meal. I provide dishes, dish rags, pots and pans, coffee and tea. If you use the french press for coffee, do not put coffee grounds down the sink. Trash only! Also, if you cook, use the stove fan and open windows to keep the house from smelling like cooking odors. There will be an extra cleaning charge if the house is left strongly smelling of food. (Cook bacon in the oven on a foil-lined baking sheet at 400 degrees). This stunningly decorated condo is a great base from which to explore Mt. Shasta and the surrounding area. You will love the quiet neighborhood, location, and the space I have created with your comfort and happiness in mind. Enjoy!
As far as Mt. Shasta goes, you could not be in a better location. You can walk to town in less than 5 minutes or to the Meadow or green space behind the property in seconds. The condo is located on a cul-de-sac so there is no through traffic. Access to to all the outdoor pursuits is also easy. Drive 15 minutes up the mountain to get to Bunny Flat or 7 minutes to Lake Siskiyou.
  • Lauren’s place was perfect for our overnight stay on our way back from Portland within our daughter. The kitchen had all we needed to make dinner and breakfast. The whole place was comfortable and welcoming

A beautiful view of Mt. Shasta awaits you. Also you can enjoy a sunset view from a private deck of the Cozy. Jacuzzi tub, Full kitchen, Queen size bed, A TV that only plays dvd with several dvd's to select from A quite neighborhood above town on the way up to Mt Shasta. Panoramic view from this upstairs apartment with a private deck entrance. Massage discount for our guests.
  • Fantastic experience! The Cozy is just as described nestled privately in a residential area not far from everything you need in town. I opted for a massage which was unlike any other I’ve had. Fred uses a tuning fork, a Tibetan singing bowl and even a Digerido. It was professional and certainly a wonderful experience. The jacuzzi bath is deep and has incredible views. Mary and Fred are the type of hosts that you won’t even notice are on the property unless you have a need to be met. Privacy 100%. We recommend checking out Sparky’s for food and drink. Pam manages there and her spunky personality is right up there w the quality of food. There is also a local tamale vendor who we will definitely visit again, and of course the best gem shop around: Soul Connections. All in all, Fred and Mary assisted in a most magical weekend in Mt. Shasta!

    Stevie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! Sparkling clean, super close to the mountain. Fred and Mary were so kind.

    Monica2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot with a great view! Perfect for a couple. Next time we'll bring waffle mix for the waffle iron!

    Mark2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little place for a solo getaway - although the Cozy Suite can definitely accommodate two people who don't mind sharing intimate space together. I slept through the night uninterrupted, and that rarely ever happens to me. Had one of the best sleeps! What a treat! I love that Fred and Mary provide organic pantry items and eco-friendly, unscented or lightly scented cleaning and beauty products. For someone like me with a lot of sensitivities, it is a peaceful haven and healing sanctuary - a reprieve for my senses! The view of Mount Shasta from the window right above the bed is amazing, and the view the other direction from the dining area and the little deck you can step out on is equally beautiful and serene.  The Cozy Suite is quiet, clean, calm, private, and Fred and Mary have provided everything you might need for your visit. Their communication is prompt, warm, and welcoming. I stayed with them once before a couple of years ago and was happy to see their place was available when I came back to town.  Highly recommend the Cozy Suite!

    Angie2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy space, great views! Close to headwaters. Fred and Mary were great hosts.

    Dana2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cold weather and snow made this little studio so much more beautiful, and quaint for my boyfriend and I. We ended up buying groceries from the markets in town and cooked our own meals for a cheaper stay with some romantic vibes. The jacuzzi was exactly what I needed after my finals in college. A great place to relax and enjoy the view. Loved it, and definitely worth the price.

    Brianna2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A well equipped kitchen made for a very cozy evening creating a lovely dinner and then enjoying ice cream in the jacuzzi! We woke up to almost 1 foot of snow in the morning! (and well shoveled stairs!) Great location at the base of the mountain.

    Emily2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cozy . If you’re coming to connect with the energies and magic you most definitely will here . Wonderful kind hosts.

Peaceful mountain yoga retreat nestled among the pines. This studio is located behind our house, as a guest cottage, but totally private and quiet. It has amazing light, lots of windows and sliding doors which open out onto a private backyard. It's a perfect get-a-way for a peaceful retreat. Feels like a your own private yoga studio and even comes with mats and yoga balls. I know you will find the energy in our studio to be calming and zen-like.
This studio was my office for many years where I gave massage and healing sessions, along with private yoga instruction. As such, the space has a nice grounded, calming energy to it. I have a massage table available to use in addition to yoga mats, exercise balls, blocks and straps. I am available to give private yoga sessions or Zero Balancing sessions. Please email me separately for inquiries and pricing.
My neighborhood is a quiet, safe neighborhood in a nice private setting just off I-5. I live only 5 minutes from town and less then 5 minutes from Lake Siskiyou. There is incredible hiking and scenery nearby. The view from the studio hosts an amazing vantage point of Mount Eddy, while Mount Shasta looms around the corner, and is visible from the picnic table, which is there for your use.
  • A perfect place for a mindful retreat!

    Philip2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place. Extremely quiet. Comfy bed. Not to hard or soft. Peaceful and perfect.

    Jen2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space to walk into and a serene place to stay. Comfortable. Very private and a good feeling. Great bird life and a family of deer came waltzing by. (Well, they were too buzy eating grass to dance...)

    Ralph2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place! Spacious and not too far at all from downtown. I totally enjoyed my stay there. Susan was wonderful and very responsive host. No microwave and there was some construction going on next door which was a little disturbing.

    Farina2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I love this place! It's close to everything, but very private. Everything was comfortable and convenient. Susan is a wonderful host. I'd definitely stay there again.

    Andrea2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place was a great, private, clean space with wonderful yoga amenities. The kitchen was very handy and I loved sitting on the patio enjoying the view. A nice distance from Mt Shasta and McCloud as well!

    Ashley2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and comfortable, and the view is GORGEOUS. The perfect stay

    Keenan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is a really nice space with coffee and other kitchen equipment as well as shampoo and conditioner. It's close to many hikes and to downtown Mt. Shasta. Susan was great to interact with and provided very clear directions for check in. Would stay there again!

(Christmas and Thanksgiving are a 3 day minimum stay.) Unique vacation home (park model) is set on a bluff overlooking the Sacramento River. There is a large private deck and your own secluded jacuzzi spa. A picnic table and chairs allow for outdoor views of the river while enjoying morning coffee or evening wine. EXTRA CHARGES ON ARRIVAL: Pet Fee $8/day. Extra guest after 4 is 6$/night Lookout is part of an old resort that is privately owned by Belinda and her husband Louie.
Lookout is called that because it is built at the Lookout Point in Cave Springs. Cave Springs is a eclectic Resort/Motel property so you have neighbors within the complex however the "feeling" is private. It is perched on the edge of a cliff looking up at Mt Shasta and down at the Sacramento River. It's a small cabin with a large view. It is great for a two-person getaway but can work for more people as long as smallish people stay in the loft and don't mind the 4-foot clearance. This is arguably the best view in Northern California. Lookout is situated next to the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, with many trails and easy river access for fishing and viewing.
Dunsmuir is a sleepy town with a small but active music and art scene. A railroad town originally, it is transforming-slowly-into this century and has arguably the best restaurants in Siskiyou County.
  • Cabin is great, views and location are outstanding!

    Julia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The views are beautiful and the cabin is clean and well stocked! The staff were super friendly and accommodating!

    Tori2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My family can’t thank you enough for the hospitality. They definitely look forward to staying here again !! They DEFINITELY recommend So if you are looking for a safe, comfortable and clean unit this is the place to STAY!

    Dayan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location is really incredible. It was a 15 minute drive to the Shasta Ski Park, which was our main destination. After a day on the slopes, the hot tub was a perfect way to wind down, especially with the adjacent fire pit. Additionally, in the listing there is a picture of Mt Shasta, which we assumed was just a "file photo." No way! That picture is the actual view from the living room. It's nothing short of amazing. Make sure you do your shopping before you get to Dunsmuir...maybe in Redding. Dunsmuir, and even Mt Shasta City are really small towns with limited grocery shopping.

    Lucky2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great view and nice hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked, and we loved that they are dog-friendly.

    Luke2020-01-14T00:00:00Z

Features a new queen bed, writing table and use of full bath adjacent to the room in 2700 sq ft home. This room is serene, private and just five minutes drive to downtown!
The Provence Room is a private bedroom with adjacent full bath. The Provence Room is a large, lofty room newly upgraded with a queen bed, luxury linens, writing table, and chair. This is a spacious room in a custom country French style with lots of light! The bathroom offers an oval bathtub and rain shower. The 2700 Sq Ft custom-built house is on its own sparkling well with clear, beautiful water, and we have central air conditioning, satellite tv and wi-fi (although because of satellite imposed data caps, there can be NO streaming of TV/films/music. There are British Shorthair cats who live in the residence. Please note that although they are adorable, if you are allergic, it will be best not to rent a room in this the house! This private guest room is on a separate floor from your hosts. It is sunny, with multiple windows, wood floors and French country furniture for a restful stay. Guests have remarked on how restful this room is and say they can feel the vortex energies on this spot! Our home is situated off a private road in a forested area where beautiful red fir and pines abound! We have high-speed wireless and premium channels -- a rarity in this rural area. Lovely big wood-burning fireplace in the great room for chilly nights and many good books you can browse off our shelves. Our neighborhood is the quaint Old Stage Road, a picturesque rustic way that was the old stagecoach route in the last century. Orchards and ranches are scattered throughout this idyllic area. We are on 2.5 acres, at the end of a private road, and you can enjoy sitting out on our wooden decks listening to the birds and watching deer walk through the woods. In the summer, we have umbrellas and tables set up for your enjoyment! Our place offers an oasis of tranquility. My partner is a part-time plein air painter and an avid hiker. I managed an art gallery in Dunsmuir, lead hikes and am also a pastry chef.. We offer breakfast, sack lunches and dinners upon arrangement We would be happy to offer tours to local sacred sites as well as guided hikes, and we are happy to suggest walks and rambles in our beautiful mountain town. We enjoy chatting with our guests and would love to show you all our favorite spots!
Being able to see a multitude of stars at night, and enjoy real rural quiet is a huge benefit to being in this neighborhood.
  • Warm welcome to a beautiful place

  • A lovely quiet home nestled among the trees about 10 minutes from the township of Mt Shasta. Great kitchen area to prepare food and the Provence Room is bright and spacious with a ultra comfy bed. Craig is a welcoming host who also respects your need for privacy.

    Diane2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Craig and Patricia have a nice private piece of property. The room was comfortable and I liked being a little out of town. Did not get a chance to meet Patricia as she was out of town.

    David2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Craig was a hospitable host. Patricia was out of town. The room was clean and cozy. I had share bathroom with girl who lives in second room. There is a cute 🐈 in the house.

    Olga2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved the backyard fairy forest <3 The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. I love that they have eco-friendly toiletries to use too! We were able to put our cold foods in the fridge and make tea and toast, which was great.

  • Perfect location to stop off driving from Crater Lake to San Francisco. Room is lovely and clean. Bed is high but comfortable. Shared bathroom as other room was occupied during our stay, which was outlined on the listing prior to booking. Craig provided wonderful recommendation for a hike at Mt Shasta. The common areas were very cluttered compared to photos but overall pleasant stay. Would stay again.

Please note that our Heat Pump is outside the guest room window so it is best to have your heavier sleepers utilize this room. The Hanai House has added sound absorbing padding to the pipes to help quite the pipe rattle, but the local company, Ray Mac, did not have suggestions to quiet the actual Heat Pump. The Hanai House Family, is looking into sound proofing material that is waterproof that could go between the Heat Pump and the guest room window, however, there may not be a solution. Currently we suggest having your heavier sleepers sleep in this room. The Guest Bathroom has a combination shower/tub, toilet and single vanity with sink and a full length mirror on the wall. The games show up as Black & White because of the new hook ups that newer TV's have. We did purchase the adapter but our caretaker did not want to mess anything up with the Nintendo 64 unit so she put it in one of the drawers underneath the living room entertainment center. The last time we were at our home we could not find the adapter and we forgot to check before we left, so it is possible that one of our guests may have hooked it up. Should it not be and you happen to find the adapter, you are welcome at your own risk to hook up the adapters to enjoy the Nintendo games in color, other wise please enjoy our Nintendo 64 Game system in Black in White. In the Living Room there are French Doors that lead covered back patio and large backyard. On the patio there is a table and 4 chairs. We also have two lounge chairs and 3 patio chairs as well. (In the Winter we store these in the second garage. The back yard is fenced and there are 2 dog kennels attached to the second garage that may be used during warmer months. The Hanai House has an attached 2 car garage that will accommodate one car. (possibly 2 small cars but we do not recommend this). There are two additional parking places in the driveway to the left as you drive up the driveway. A car may also park in front of the large fence gate leading to the back yard. Should more parking be required then open the large gate and park on the paved driveway down the side of the house. Note: Winter months this may not be possible due to the snow build up from snow plowing the driveway. There are times, with our approval, that we will allow up to 16 people stay at our home. This is allowed when the guest understands that most or all of the additional beds we have on hand will most likely need to be used and will take up space in some of the common areas depending on how many beds have two people sleeping in them . Please note that the one time cleaning fee may be more expensive depending on if the guest would like us to have the extra beds set up before they arrive and taken down after check out (The additional cleaning/service fee will range from $50 - $125 dollars more). The Hanai House is the perfect spot. It is a short walk to the fishery or Lake Siskiyou where there is fishing, swimming, hiking. The Golf course is just down the street. Mount Shasta's downtown and stores are less than a five minute drive. Further down the street just past the Siskiyou Lake Dam/bridge, if my memory serves correct you turn left and head up to another fishing spot with spectacular views. You can also take a drive up Mount Shasta where there are vista points and trails for hiking or snow shoeing. The Hanai House is approximately a 20 minute drive to the Mount Shasta Ski Park on your way to the ski park you will see a snow sled hill on your right. The Hanai House is about a 30 minute drive to McCloud where you can find more trails to hike, fishing, waterfalls and watering holes to swim in during warmer months, as well as the lower falls, middle falls and further down on the same road there are even more spectacular water falls.
  • The house is beautiful and perfectly set up for large or multiple families. Many amenities and personal touches to ensure you have the comforts of home (including an “in case you forgot drawer”). We were there there for only two nights, but would have stayed for weeks if possible! Thank you again for being so hospitable.

  • great location and beautiful clean home!!!

  • This home was perfect for a weekend away with our pups. The big backyard was really great for the dogs. The home was well equipped with everything we needed (kitchen supplies, toiletries, extra linens, etc). Would be great for a bigger group as well. Only cons - the master bed was too firm for our taste, but everyone has different sleeping needs. We ended up moving into one of the other rooms with a softer bed and all was good. As Linda mentions, the water is iron rich so there is a sulfur smell and copper hue to showers/tubs/sinks. But she had fresh drinking water to use. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Beautiful place. Linda has thought of everything. This was the best stocked vacation rental I have ever stayed at. The home is beautiful. Only negative is that the water apparently has a high iron or metal content and all of the sinks, toilets, shower, dishwasher have that unappealing rusty iron stain. Linda provides bottled water for drinking and cooking. Overall, I would still highly recommend this property.

  • The Hanai House is a treasure. The view of Mt. Shasta from the front porch is worth a million! The house is in a great location, spacious and beautifully decorated. It's ideal for groups both big and small and equipped with everything you could want and more. It has been carefully conceived and is obviously loved. Anyone staying here is lucky indeed. We will plan to come back again next summer! Thank you Linda for helping to create a magical vacation in the place Where Heaven Meets Earth!

Mt Shasta City is an enchanting community on the southwest slope of the 14,179 foot Mount Shasta. There is always plenty to do here. Depending on the season, there is rafting, kayaking, swimming, and flat water paddling. World class trout streams are just a few minutes away. There is hiking and mountain biking on hundreds of miles of trails and old logging roads. You can also climb Mt Shasta if you are feeling adventurous. Winter offers downhill, cross country, and world class backcountry skiing. You can go snowshoeing or sledding. There is a public ice rink in town and sometimes in winter you can ice skate on a frozen high alpine lake. Mount Shasta is a world renowned spiritual and power center. It is a great artist or writer's retreat. The town has a variety of retail shops, coffee houses, bakeries, restaurants, bars, full service grocery stores and a great natural food store. The residence is just steps away from two of Mt Shasta's favorite restaurants and a locally owned grocery store. Inside is an excellent deli with homemade sandwiches to order and fresh barbecue on the weekends.
  • A really great apartment. Fantastic views of Mt Shasta from kitchen window and one of the bedrooms. All you'd need in a well-equipped kitchen to stay in rather than go out. Easy check-in and check-out. Perfect location for town (walkable) and trails (short car ride). On top of that, host Richard was super-fast in all communication and really helpful with local knowledge. Comfortable and clean as well. So all in all, a big thumbs up!

  • Really sweet little place! Our family of 4 stayed comfortably and had easy access to Mt Shasta ski park during the day and restaurants in town in the evening. The place was very clean and felt very safe. Plenty of hot water. Richard provided excellent communication and made the trip easy. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Great apartment with plenty of space. The apartment had everything we needed and the location was perfect. We took several trips on foot downtown. It’s always nice to have recommendations from the locals on where to eat. This space was clean and welcoming.

  • Great location for staying in the town of mount Shasta! Comfortable amenities and the hosts are great at communicating quickly.

  • What a gem of a place! Attention to detail in cleanliness, amenities, comfort, and hospitality was not over-looked. We had everything we needed, and the host even checked on us to make sure we did :). The electric kettle was really appreciated since we like to drink tea at night, but we're used to just microwaving our tea at other vacation properties (which is not the same!). The indoor slippers were also a nice touch! We enjoyed the views of Mt. Shasta from the bedroom and from the kitchen. We loved being within walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. Mt. Shasta Ski Park was an easy 20 minute drive away, too! We definitely recommend this place to anyone vacationing in the area. Thank you, Richard, for opening your apartment to us!

  • We had a great time in Mt Shasta staying at Richard's place during Christmas. The apartment was tastefully decorated for Christmas, which was a pleasant surprise!

  • I don't think you could get a nicer place to stay in Mount Shasta. You can walk to the cafes and shops in town or drive to some great hiking spots. Richard and Deborah's apartment is well designed and appointed with a great little indoor patio where you can relax with a glass of wine. Cozy and cool. And Richard was a great host.
