Situated in the heart of the Highlands below our highest mountain Ben Nevis. Great location for exploring, cycling, walking, climbing, skiing and all outdoor activities. Rural location but with the town only 10 mins away by car.
  • A peaceful little spot. Clean, tidy, just what I was looking for, for a little break in Scotland

  • Superb cosy comfortable log cabin in a wonderful location, and Kenny was a really friendly and helpfull host. Would definately come back for another stay.

    Phil2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kenny’s place is a wonderful cabin for a family of 4. It has everything you need and is super comfortable. We also found the location to be absolutely perfect to explore the highlands. Every morning we went for hikes right around the cabin, took day trips out from fort William and did the gondolas on Ben Nevis which was covered in thick snow. And we discovered the leisure club at the Ben Nevis hotel which was great for a swim and hot tub. Kenny’s cabin comes highly recommended!

  • Can’t rate Kenny or his cabin highly enough. As other reviewers have said, the pictures don’t do it justice. The cabin is massive, toasty warm and has everything you need. The location is fabulous and Kenny is friendly, helpful and knowledgable.

    Rachel2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal location with enough privacy and a hands on host at ypur door step if you need him. Cabin is bigger than in looks in photos and lovely and warm.

    Stacey2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Worth the travel no matter where you are in the UK. You're left in the middle of beautiful scenery and are free to come and go as you please. Kenny is extremely knowledgeable, approachable and flexible who was extremely welcome, I couldn't ask for a better host!

Our fabulous Glamping pods offer en suite facilities and the most amazing views of Loch Linnhe and the surrounding mountains. Each pod sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. We supply a Duvet, Pillows and Towels. Pods are warm and cozy. You may take the Corran Ferry to get to Ardgour, however there is a road around the loch Via Fort William, We are not an Island. The ferry saves 1hr drive around the loch.
These lovely pods are fully insulated so very cosy. All are ensutie WC and shower with tea making facilities. A fridge, microwave and small heater is provided. We are cited on croftland and parking is available at the village shop next door. We accept well-behaved dogs in our space.
The area is outstandingly beautiful. Mountains, lochs, wildlife include seals, pine martins, otters, grey geese and eagles, and much more. There are opportunities to fish, walk, climb, or just relax.
  • Incredibly cozy and comfortable pods in a beautiful, peaceful location. Highly recommend!

  • Great pod with great views! A perfect getaway to nature (horses and a beautiful view at the lake) . We really enjoyed the stay. Communication with the host was very fast and had no issues what so ever. I highly recommend this place.

  • Amazing!

    Franziska2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is brilliant. Fancy camping, with a loo and a shower in a super cosy cabin, amidst astonishing scenery. The cabin had everything we could have needed (and more - the fridge and the microwave were very handy!) and was a real gem of a find. Don't miss taking a wee walk to the local pub where the food looked excellent (although, we only eyed it and tried the wine - also excellent) and exploring the scenery. This place makes a fantastic base if you're walking or travelling nearby, and the hosts are so accommodating, welcoming and kind. We'll remember this trip fondly!

    Jennifer2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great comfy space and easy to find almost immediately off the Corran ferry. Amazing views with benches and grilles set up outside. The pod itself was very warm even in single degree weather.

    Kenny2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We fell in love with the location of the Pod, everything was perfect, and we can’t wait to go back. Stunning views, lovely welcome from the hosts, friendly animals and a beautiful spotless pod. I did not expect a microwave and fridge so this was a real bonus. Lovely and cosy in autumn temperatures, and so peaceful. A hot shower and soap provided in the bathroom. A dimmer switch to create a cosy atmosphere, and comfy beds. Everything was just perfect. A big thank you to John and Reece for accepting us as guests. If you’ve never stayed in a Pod before, go for it, it’s a fabulous experience.

Nestled in the forest, lochs and mountains we have our spacious and eco friendly Signal Rock Cottage. With bird songs being the score for your ears and nature being the canvas for the eyes, underfloor heating for your feet we love to be able to offer this as your special holiday spot. Fun film fact: Warner Brothers used the Torren Lochen in the Harry Potter film The Prisoner of Azkaban. All the scenes with Hagrids Hut were filmed here. Dogs Welcome - £10 per dog per night subject to T+Cs.
Your own self-catering downstairs apartment. Signal Rock Cottage was built in 2008 as an Eco House utilising a local biomass boiler and underfloor heating to make a cozy yet contemporary space. The setting within the forest makes for a true get a way feel with wildlife spotting opportunities in abundance from the window. The cottage consists of 2 double en-suit rooms which can have beds made up as either doubles or twins. The living area opens out with patio doors into the forest and the fully equipped kitchen makes it a perfect spot if you fancy dining in for the evening. We also allow access to the cottage at all times of day so you can come and go as you like. There is cosy underfloor heating fuelled by a wood fuelled boiler feed with wood chips locally sourced. All the water in the taps comes direct from our own spring and is filtered and passed through an Ultraviolet light to ensure purity. No Chlorine is added. We are proud of our Green credentials and have won many awards for our Environmental management. We have Wifi but the Highlands of Scotland are, according to a National newspaper, the most poorly served in the whole of Britain as far as Broadband is concerned. Service is reasonable in our area most of the time but the signal can drop from time to time, this is generally the time I take it as a sign to go outside (or look out the window if its pouring and stormy). We only accept bookings at the week-ends for a minimum of 2 nights. So Sunday night, Monday, Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday nights are all available to be reserved on a one night basis. Only Friday and Saturday nights have to be booked together. Dogs Welcome - £10 per dog per night subject to T+Cs. If you intend on bringing your dog please contact us prior to arrival. Please note there is a completely seperate upsairs apartment which may have a couple staying in. They have their own private entrance. You can book this aswell the take the whole cottage and sleep 6 people. Please get in touch if you would like more information.
Glencoe is the most iconic Glen in Scotland. Dramatic and a "must visit" for all visitors . We are lucky to live right in the middle of the Glen. As someone said to me " the silence at night is deafening!" The sky is black and on a clear night alive with starlight. We feel incredibly lucky to live here and love to share it with everyone! It was here that Warner Bros filmed the Harry Potter film "The Prisoner of Azaskaban! and all the pictures of Hagrids Hut for the subsequent films are from here. You can see the site from Torren Lochan. Warner Bros told us they needed mountains, trees and water and we had it all! The Glencoe Cottages were taken as Editing Offices and they rented Torren House as their Production Office. They were here for 5 months in 2005 .
  • Amazing cottage in an amazing part of the world! Hosts allowed us the peace we were looking for and provided good breakfast items for the morning. 5min drive from Glencoe Village there is beauty all around. Please be aware this is a shared cabin so if you don't book both room 1 and room 2 then you may be sharing the amenities

A cosy, small, traditional stone cottage on the Isle of Lismore, in one of the most picturesque places of the west coast. It sits right in the bay at the end of the Great Glen and is surrounded by stunning mountain views. Please note: Lismore is an island that can only be reached by either of two ferry services. After your booking we'll send you an extensive welcome pdf with all the information you need about how to get here and how plan your stay.
If you're looking for a place to break away from it all, experience true peacefulness and inhale fresh sea air while green hills and beautiful mountains stretch endlessly before you, the Crofting Cottage on the Isle of Lismore is the place to for you. In our renovated historical stone cottage you get a real sense of what it means to live on an island while still enjoying all the comforts of modern life. Put on your wellies and go for a walk along the seashore, explore the small islands in the bay at low tide and return to a warm turf-roofed cottage and a cosy fire. Go for a cycle to discover the historical sites of the island and stop for some cake and coffee at our local café, get to know the welcoming island community and finish the day with a stew of delicious local lamb and a book from our varied collection, while admiring an unpolluted starry night through the skylights. The Crofting Cottage is a simple, open-plan space accommodation that is lovingly prepared for you, so you can feel right at home. It's got a mezzanine sleeping platform, a modern shower room, and a lovely kitchen corner with a handy cooker and double oven for all cooking enthusiasts. As an original island house it does not boast with space, but with cosiness, and the efficient and undemanding multi-fuel stove quickly heats every corner of it. It's not trying to provide a luxury holiday, but letting you re-connect with the simple pleasures of life, the sound of the seagulls for breakfast, the beauty of pure silence, the passing shadows on the mountains while the clouds are travelling over them, the ever-changing light and colours of a Hebridean landscape. Exchanging hurried subway connections for a leisurely ferry crossing, a mad weekend shopping for a browse through our small local shop, and the fight with software compatibilities for a fight with the wind, which, even if you lose it, somehow is so much more satisfying. It usually takes a day or two to allow yourself a much slower pace of daily life, but beware, once you've adjusted to island time and haven't let the presence of the wi-fi take away from it, you might find you could rather get used to it! The cottage is also perfect for an autumn and winter getaway, being a small space to heat, providing a comfortable reading sofa and lots of warm things for extra cosiness, including a down feather duvet. And though the days are short, the light is really at its most beautiful in the darker days of the year!
Lismore is a stunning island, with lots to see and do if you appreciate a quieter pace of life. We have a Heritage Centre with an island café (around 4 miles away) open 11 - 4 pm every day from April (check out varying winter opening times), and lots of historical buildings and monuments. It's ideal for walking and cycling, and if you would like to see as much as possible in one day and hear a few local stories, why not book an Explore Lismore landrover tour? You'll find everyone on the island very helpful, so if you get lost or have questions, don't hesitate to ask the first person to come your way! Lismore is a busy island and there's always something on, check the noticeboard at the local shop or the community website (www.isleoflismore.com) for upcoming events.
  • Nothing I write will equal the total sense of peace and serenity I experienced at the cottage and on the island (and I'm supposed to be a poet). But allow me to start at the details that I will never forget for as long as I live. Julia is a wonderful human being and a tremendous host. She went above and beyond to make me feel at home (way better than I feel at home). The inhabitants on the island are a special community. Anytime I found myself walking on the path to and from the shop, or to and from the ferry port, the first passing car would stop to ask if I needed a lift. These are details that touched me deeply. The generosity and the warmth of their welcome is such a contrast to life in the cities. The cottage and the island are beyond special - I was able to reorder my thoughts, process a lifetime of experiences (good and not so good), plan for the future, write a bunch of poems that have put my previous work to shame, and written a few songs for good measure. The walks in the wilderness ... man I miss it all so much already! Please, oh scientific community, find a cure for this virus so I can go back and fall in love with the world again!

  • Thanks so much for having us. I’m still sad to not be there. Felt very much at home! A very comfortable 9 days. Great shower too! Will definitely be back.

  • Great, cosy cottage in a stunning peaceful location. Very well appointed house and the perfect base to explore Lismore from! Speedy and helpful communication from the host too.

  • Great little cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage is well set up and the Host is helpful and flexible

    Denise2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Croft is amazing and is in an amazing location! Lismore is the hottest holiday destination of the decade👍

    Caspar2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly lovely cottage. It's ideal for one person or a couple looking for a calm and cosy retreat to enjoy this amazing part of the world. We had very wintery weather so really enjoyed staying in lots! The fire was great and kept us cosy all week. The kitchen is brilliant and had everything we needed for cooking nice dinners. The bed platform is small and slightly tricky, but if you move the bed a little away from the wall you can sleep two people fine, listening to the rain on the roof is very cosy. The bathroom and shower is great, really hot water! There's lots of nice warm welcoming touches like slippers, hot water bottles, blankets etc. Plus a great selection of books and good WiFi. One tip I'd like to give future visitors - the local shops on Lismore and over on Appin (10min ferry from Lismore) are really great and stock everything you might need from all your normal groceries to plant based milks to nice wines, newspapers, etc. We stocked up in Oban before our trip so didn't use the local shops much but it seemed a shame when we realised how well stocked they are - buying from them is a great way to support the local economy while you're on holiday. Thanks Julia!

In the famous Glencoe valley, beside the river Coe and at the edge of an old majestic forest near the historical Signal Rock is our East cottage which can sleep up to 6 people. With its eco-friendly underfloor heating and its views out to the mountains this is a perfect spot to escape to the highlands. You can walk to our famous nearby lively Pub. There is car parking space by the cottage. Please note that we have a policy of 2 nights min stay at the w/e's. Dogs Welcome - £10 pdpn T+Cs apply
East cottage has 3 bedrooms each with 2 beds ( any 2 beds can be made up as a large double on request) 1 bedroom has its own private shower-room. There is a further shared shower-room. All the beds are made up with a bottom sheet, duvet with a cover, & 2 pillows with pillowslips. The living/dining/kitchen area has large glass doors giving views over the river and access to the patio area with garden furniture & a BBQ. There is also a small bonfire area where our guests can enjoy a rustic ourdoor experience. We have midge eating machines running in the summer to help with eliminating the insect life! The living room has 2 sofas and 2 armchairs a coffee table and a bookcase full of books. There is a TV/DVD player, wi-fi radio & free WiiFi access. However do please be aware that in this mountainess area we only get speeds of 0.5 MB! 3G & 4G are available and you will get better internet access on your mobile phone than we can provide you with here. I am just flagging this up because I know many people are disappointed by our low speeds. The dining table seats 6 with a corner bench and additional chairs. There is plenty of crockery & cutlery. The kitchen has an electric fan oven, cooking hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric whisk, toaster, filter coffee machine and an electric kettle. Our water comes direct from our own underground spring. It is filtered and passed through an Ultra Violet light and is as pure as any bottled water you can buy! • This was a perfect location for the hiking we did and a wonderful (walkable distance) pub with stunning views. Loved the rushing water by the cabin, deer, ponies and dark starry nights

    Jan2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, rustic cabin very close to running stream in the valleys of Glencoe. So close to nature, hiking and outdoors activity for the whole family. Come for the amazing outdoors - not for the comforts of home. Deer wander freely, as do 2 adorable Shetland ponies around the grounds. A short walk to spectacular views!

    John2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in the most idyllic location. We loved watching the birds from the lounge and even had a deer stroll past. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need for a self catering holiday. Comfy beds and soft feather pillows were appreciated after a days walking. We enjoyed a night at the pub (a short walk) which serves great food, has live music (Saturday) and a couple of pool tables. Thank you Keren & Rob we had a great stay.

    Marianne2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place in the middle of nature, we enjoyed it very much including our kids. Fabulous views of the mountains right next to the house, great opportunities for walking and hiking, useful tips from Keren and Rob (hiking to the hidden valley was great!).

  • Great location with quick access to some beautiful locations for walking, trekking. Just as advertised. Very serene with a nice stream next to the house. Very environmentally friendly family. Thoughtful messages around the house showing extreme care to preserve the beauty and wildlife of the neighborhood. We loved it

    Divya2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Lovely hosts

    Najib2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Glencoe was our favorite destination as we toured the Highlands of Scotland. Truly the most stunning vistas and it was lovely to come back from a day of hiking to Keren and Rob’s charming cottage. We felt very private and comfortable; just sorry it was too rainy or windy to take advantage of the fire pit! We were thrilled to watch a deer wander right across the back garden and loved seeing all the different birds come into the feeder. It was the perfect “get away from it all” location with a handy pub right up the road.

Even if my boyfriend is quite tall, it wasn’t too much of an issue and he managed to shower and get around comfortably. We loved the little touches such as the highland cow and purple theme, which added personality to the stay. We really had a great time at the pod and would love to stay again!

  • Lovely place to stay and views. Great accomodation to get back to after a day on hills and always warm. All the facilities you need and more. Chris was great with communication in the lead up and during our stay. He's a fountain of knowledge on the area and great to chat to in general. Check in and check out was straight forward and quick. Will stay again

  • We had a fantastic stay in this lovely apartment with great views and everything else you’d need for a great base to explore the local area and beyond. Suzie was an excellent host and very friendly, which made us feel welcome. Although the apartment is an additional space added to the side of the house, it is totally private, so you don’t need to worry about annoying the hosts as they can’t hear through the thick brick walls. Would recommend this as a great place to stay!

    John2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most beautiful mountain escape, check in was super easy, we got a full tour of the apartment and info about local amenities. The apartment has everything you need including extras such as bath with massage jets (for after your ben nevis climb) and loads of great DVDs for rainy days. 10/10 cannot wait to come back and stay again :)

    Ellen2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for walking, spotlessly clean and quiet. Would happily stay again

    Bethanie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was clean and beautiful, we really found everything we needed and the communication and welcome was perfect and warm. We just loved to simply walk out of the door and go hiking. The water pressure in the bathroom should be mentioned: just perfect! You don't find that often in Scotland. Cosy, warm and beautiful!

  • Housing perfectly maintained. Very welcome, nothing is missing. Ideal starting point to explore this corner of the Highlands.

Whats special about our place? Our 6ft5 Great Dane Dougal of course. If you are not a Dog person then this house is not for you! We are in a very friendly neighbourhood within a small crescent. The car park is a 5 second walk from the house which is very easily accessed.
Spacious double bedroom includes a TV with sky tv. Tea and coffee making facilities in room, use of bathroom outside of room, shower and bath (Towels provided)

As we are situated further up the hill we have a number of walks right on our door step with beautiful views!

  • The house is centrally located and short convenient walk to plenty of pubs and restaurants. Ben Nevis park is not too far either. The onsite parking is a huge benefit as well because parking seems tight in the area.

    John2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • When you just need a bed and not a place to hang out, this works great! Lots of thoughtful little touches make the efficient space work well. Close to the train and bus station with super easy check-in and out.

  • As stated it's a small room but plenty big enough for one person.

    Jenny2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • A simple, very clean room under the roof. It is very small, but quite sufficient for a person with few needs. The location is very central (about 10 minutes walk from the train station). Uncomplicated check in / out and a very nice and helpful contact with Sandra. I would love to come back.

    Denise2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's home is great, VERY close to the center of Fort William, easily within walking distance to shops and restaurants, and just barely off the main roads in and out of town. Her home is very clean and very comfortable. I would certainly stay here again when visiting Fort William!

This is a stand alone log cabin, which has just undergone extensive renovations. It has few neighbours except for myself. It's situated in a wild garden, with access to 3 hectares of beautiful woodland behind. There's a main living room, a galley kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom with a large shower. There's also a wood stove to keep you warm. There's a TV with chromecast, a speaker system and a guitar for campfire songs! There's also a firepit available for use 30m from the cabin.
**Coronavirus update** My guests' safety is of utmost importance to me. I understand people will have concerns and fears coming on holiday and away from their homes. This area is beautiful and wild, and still allows you to restrict social contact whilst also enjoying the great outdoors. In addition to the usual deep clean of my property after every stay, I'll be undertaking additional cleaning of all surfaces, light switches, remote controls and door handles using alcohol wipes and antiviral spray. I'll be distancing myself from all guests as a precaution, but of course, i'm available if anyone needs me. Bedding and towels are provided, and there are a plenty of blankets and cushions to make yourself comfortable. If you require allergy-safe bedding, please contact me to get it ready for you. Heating is provided by a wood burning stove in the living room (all wood felled and split by me from the woods around the cabin) and electric heaters in the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom also has a heated towel rail. There is a firepit in the garden (please don't light fires elsewhere) and there is a small firepit on the side of the loch to watch the sunset from. Children or babies are allowed, but the cabin is not specially set up for them, so you'd need to take responsibility for them, and provide your own cribs / highchairs etc. Pets are permitted, and a dog bed can be made available on request. Extra guests may be accommodated for a fee but you would need to contact me to confirm availability.
This is a secluded cabin in the grounds of the old school house. It is located 60m off of the quiet road on the south side of Loch Eil. There are woods behind the house to explore, and access to the lochside on the other side of the road, perhaps a minute's walk from the cabin. There are walks up onto the mountain behind, but otherwise this is a quiet area. Apart from the occasional car on the road, the only sounds are the birds and the wind in the trees. The nearest shop is in Corpach which is a 20 minute drive away. This is a beautiful, tranquil area, which makes a great base for exploring the highlands. The woods have deer and pine martens in them and there are many birds. The west coast is only an hour down the road and you can be at the base of Ben Nevis in 40 minutes.
  • The log cabin was well presented, clean and was equipped with everything required for a long or short term stay. Pete was very communicative and the small touches he added to the cabin for our arrival really gave us the impression that he would go the extra mile for his guests. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the Highlands or simply relax in a cabin surrounded by nature.

    David2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really relaxing stay at this amazing place to stay. It is in a nice sport in the woods and Pete was really helpful and easily contactable.

    Oliver2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for my girlfriends birthday and this cabin is just perfect! It's so clean and comfortable and in a perfect location. Close enough to fort William to stock up on provisions but remote enough to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Pete was brilliant with his messages and couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. Pete had the stove going for us on arrival which was great. Loved sitting out on the front porch and looking at the stars. I can't recommend this place enough and I've already told my girlfriend I want to come here again for my birthday. Stop looking for other places and book this place now.

    Tom2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous exceptionally well-equipped lochside cabin. Things to note: fantastic bed and duvet, nice tv (if you've had enough of your other half) and eco-friendly touches.

    Brahma2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pete's cabin is just the perfect place for a vacation! It's a charming cabin in the woods, lovely interior design and loads of nice touches to make you feel home. Not only the fireplace warms up the cabin very quickly, but it really makes for a magical atmosphere! We would love to be back for another escape from the city :) Thanks Pete!

    Francesco2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A very cozy cabin, the little touches are teeming, you immediately feel at home! We will come back!

  • If staying in or around Fort William, Henry’s place is an excellent choice. Quite comfortable and equipped with everything you would need. As well parking is quite easy. It is also only a short walk, albeit down hill, to a great street full of restaurants and shopping. Will definitely stay here again.

    David2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really cute apartment! We only stayed one night as we passed through Fort William, but it would have been a perfect hub while traversing around the area. Especially a comforting place to come back to if hiking or mountaineering in the area. Expect to go up some stairs from the car park, or a hilly walk if you walk to the main street downtown. The space had a great big window and perfect view of the loch. We loved the little touches like all the sticky notes from past visitors to the apartment. They were from all around the world! Definitely take the time to read them. There was plenty of tea and coffee which was much appreciated. Definitely recommend the quaint space for a couple or a single person traveling through. Thanks for the great hospitality, Henry!

  • This place was excellent for our one night stay in the area, but it would have also been perfect for an extended stay. The home is super clean with great touches to make it feel comfortable. Check-in was easy and simple along with finding adequate parking for the apartment (which is definitely a plus). Henry is a wonderful host. I would recommend this place to anyone.

  • We arrived soaked and cold after a long day of walking the WHW under pouring rain. Katy kept in touch with us during the day to make sure everything was ready for us when we would arrive and offered us tea to warm us up. She and her kids are the nicest. Also, she let us stay a little bit longer than scheduled. Thanks again Katy, we have put an end to this adventure in a great way thanks to you and your family !

  • We have had just the best winter experience here, the cabin was really well kept very clean and very cosy a great space!! the Hottub was all ready and waiting for us very easy to use and a great asset to the property, The beds and bedding were a great standard and we all slept very well, the heating was perfect easy to use and we kept warm even through harsh cold weather, We would certainly recommend this property and we cant wait to come back.

  • Awesome time

    Nick2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great little lodge with hot tub and pleasantly surprised after reading some bad reviews, it was lovely! Hard place to find should maybe mention great glen water park in directions that would have made it 10x easier, I would type that into maps before trying any dodgy postcode. Reception shut but maybe just because this time of year but should have someone on call 24/7 incase of emergency surely got to be against health and safety. All in all a good weekend and would return!

  • The photos of this lovely apartment do not do it justice! It is spacious and bright, and was a really nice place to spend 5 nights, during which we got to explore lots of the surrounding (glorious) countryside. Lyn was the consummate host, very responsive and thoughtful, and the flat is really well located, with supermarkets and everything you could need only a 5-10 minute drive away.

We offer a very warm welcome to the self catering cottage to all travellers, wherever you're from, and whether you're travelling singly, as a couple, or as two friends. We think the cottage will suit those more independent folk who want to just get on with their holiday at their own pace. The cottage is compact and ideal for one or two people.
The cottage is ideal if you want your own self-catering space with no other comings and goings of guests. The open plan living/kitchen/dining area is approximately 5 x 3.7 metres and has a sofa bed, armchair, dining table and chairs and a fitted kitchen. Sorry we don't have a dish washer nor washing machine but the kitchen is well equipped with kettle, microwave, full cooker and hob, and small fridge with separate freezer compartment. There is also a television, dvd player, and hifi with usb port for your own mobile device. Next to the main room is the bedroom, 2.4m x 4 metres, which can be provided with either 2 single beds or a super-king with comfortable mattress topper. The shower/wc room (2.1 x 1.4m) is next to the bedroom/living area. Outside there is a small, covered area with table and chairs for you to enjoy some outdoor living space of your own. The b and b (2 en suite rooms) is next door so you will likely see other guests, and you are welcome to share the rest of the garden with them and us. The parking space in front of the cottage is reserved for you; other cars at the bed and breakfast also park in that area but there will always be dedicated space for you. The sea loch, Loch Linnhe, is just across the road; you have a good chance of seeing porpoise, seals and otters! Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain, is easily accessible, just 2 miles away. The cottage is a 20 minute walk (2 minute drive) from Fort William town centre which has all amenities; shops, pubs and restaurants. The area is ideal for anyone who likes stunning scenery with plenty of outdoor pursuits.
  • I cannot thank Stephanie enough for her AMAZING hospitality. From picking me & Stan (my dog) up from the train station upon arriving, offering to take me for groceries the next day, tips on where to go whenever I needed it & dropping me at the train station again when leaving. All of this whilst still getting all the space that I needed, I just knew that Stephanie was there whenever I needed her. Absolutely outstanding host. The cottage itself is clean, spacious, cosy and has pretty much everything you could possibly need. I really struggled to get out of the bed some mornings because of how comfy it is. The view from the cottage is stunning, I can't fault the place one bit. Me & Stan really loved the place & are sad to have left. The train station is just a 25 minute walk/5 minute drive away and there is a train that runs a couple of times a day from Fort Willaim so a couple of day trips to Mallaig & Glenfinnen is definitely recommended. 😍 Me & Stan hope to return one day & a huge thank you to Stephanie, a million times over.

    Andrew2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, a short walk from the town and a lovely view from the main room. Stephanie gave us lots of information on things to do, taking into account we had our dogs with us. Would stay here again!

  • Thank you for stay, your were very helpful. The location of the bungalow is great and the views are breath taking! We had a very peaceful few days and would 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in Fort William.

    Ben2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house is exactly as described. It is clean and spacious and well equipped. Everything you need is there whether you use the house as a base to explode or want to stay in more. Steph & Linda are great hosts, they are very welcoming but equally discreet and you would not know they were there despite being onsite. The house is perfectly located to to walk into Fort William town itself. It has easy access to all surrounding areas. The house itself has beautiful views over Loch Linnie. I would recommend this house to anyone including couples, friends and dog lovers!

    Claudia2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie was a great host to me and my mum and was very generous with her time. She lent us maps of the area and gave us advice about what there was to see and do. Stephanie was happy for me to bring my wee dog which we were very grateful for. There is a great stony beach across the road and a short walk into town. We had a lovely stay.

Acorn Lodge is close to the town centre and has great views. It's a totally unique building, with a high level of insulation and a grass roof. Great for couples and families, it has an electric infra red sauna in the bathroom, perfect for relaxing in after a day in the outdoors. Maximum of 4 guests please. Please note there is no WiFi.
Acorn Lodge sits in on the edge of woodland and has a small stream running close by so you will really feel away from it all, yet are only 10 mins walk from the all the amenities of the town. With an open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, you have fantastic views up the Great Glen. If you are lucky you might see the pine marten who visits the deck at night for peanut butter sandwiches. There is no garden area around the lodge as it is built onto the hillside, However there is a large decked veranda at the front. Please note that the stream running past the lodge is unfenced in places so children will need to be supervised.
Situated right on the edge of the main part of Fort William, Acorn Lodge is in an elevated position overlooking the local leisure centre. Lots of guests comment that they did not feel like they were in town at all. The garden stream deadens most sounds from reaching the lodge and your view is uninterrupted towards the Great Glen and Loch Linnhe. It is an idyllic location with all amenities close by.
  • This was such a lovely place, it really lived up to the photos. We had fresh eggs, chocolates and Prosecco waiting for us on arrival which was a lovely surprise. There was a DVD player and dvds which was not advertised on the page, which was good to have. It’s a great location, really close to shops but thanks to the the water beside the house you think you are away from everything. The hosts had excellent communication. Highly recommend.

    Mary2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, very clean, close to the town yet so peaceful. Loved having a waterfall right besides us. Cabin is equipped in everything you might need during your stay. It’s cosy with comfortable beds, very nicely decorated. Sauna was so nice to have, after a day out in the cold. Owners very approachable and kept in touch which was lovely. We would definitely come back!

  • Wow! What a beautiful place to stay! We were really blown away by Norman and Gillians beautiful home, that had been totally constructed by Norman himself, it really exceeded our expectations. I injured myself during our stay and I had to spend more time at home than I'd hoped for but I didnt resent it in the slightest. It is a beautiful little haven in the woods with an incredible view from the balcony. It is walking distance from all the shops in town and Norman gave us great tips on things to do locally. Thanks both of you for the most amazing holiday!!

    Sonya2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a beautiful place to live for a week! The cottage is hand-made, right next to a small waterfall, and although on the edge of Fort William, the city centre, various grocery stores and the train station are all a very short walk away and easy accessible by foot. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with everything one would need for cooking. We enjoyed every minute we were there!

  • Fiona’s house is clean and cosy. Very close to the centre. There was a corner shop close by and many other big supermarkets in the city. The beds were comfy and the view was brilliant. Unfortunately we shortened our stay due to the pandemic, we would like to recommend it to any visitors in the future.

Fiona was brilliant, very easy to communicate with and very helpful. We particularly appreciated that Fiona pre warmed the house for us just before we got in from a cold day on the hills. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

When my girlfriend and I were very tired to go to the homeowner's house at night, it was very warm when I entered the house. I also put two packs of snack fruits on the bed! The next time you have the chance to go to Fort William, you must go to the Simon home!

  • This is a terrific place. The hostel is super comfy and extremely clean. There's everything you could need, and Caroline is a very accommodating host - very thoughtful. The area is terrific. We went to the ice factor on Sunday morning - it couldn't be closer! and for the outdoor enthusiast there is a ton of awesome things to do right on the doorstep. We would love to visit again.

    Lucy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot to explore Ben Nevis and the surrounding area from, upon arrival we were quickly greeted by the host who provided fresh clean bedding, the pods came with a small electric heater which was more than enough to keep us toasty when the temperature dropped below zero and the shower and toilet blocks were extremely clean and well heated. Great value for the price we stayed and would definitely stay again.

    Richard2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • I did not see Caroline but her information to enter the premises was perfect. The calm and cleanliness of the place was very appreciated! With all the necessary comfort inside. Thank you Caroline!

Burach Apartment 1 is a 2 bedroom apartment close to the centre of Fort William, with a great view from the living room . It is on the hill just behind the High Street, which is an 8-10 min walk and close to all amenities. There is off road car parking for 1 vehicle, and a drying room. The apartment sleeps 4, with the living area downstairs. Upstairs bedroom 1 contains beds that can be made up into 1 king or 2 singles. Bedroom 2 contains a bed that can made up as a 2 singles or a double.
There is a large open plan room downstairs for dining, relaxing and cooking. We have a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The two bedrooms are up stairs, as is the bathroom. The parking is immediately outside the apartment, larger vehicles and vans may need to park in the street. There is a great view from the downstairs of the apartment and a small outside space in front of the apartment. If you are visiting for all the outdoor activities on offer we have a drying line in our carport and a drying room in the apartment with racking and a dehumidifier.
Argyll Road is close to the town centre, which has a small supermarket (larger supermarkets are just slightly further away). There is also a small Spa (convenience store) minutes away. There a pubs and places to eat, a small but interesting museum, several outdoor shops, and library. There is climbing wall on the street below us and a good leisure centre with pool, gym and exercise classes (run by Highlife Highland). Currently our favourite coffee shop is 'Delicraft' on the High Street (although the new Vegan Cafe - Wildcat is great and satisfied our 2 definitely carnivorous boys - they gave top marks to the homemade beans on toast and cake. Our favourite place to eat is Garrison West next to the museum in Cameron Square - although we are spoilt for choice.
  • We had a very good time in Fort William. The view from the appartment is superb, the place is big, clean, comfortable and well equiped. It was perfect for the four of us. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to other guests. We had a great time at Fort William. The view from the main room of the apartment is superb. The apartment is spacious, clean and very well equipped. It was ideal for the 4 of us. We had a good stay and we recommend this rental.

  • Amazing place. High attention to details all over. In the kitchen there is everything you need and even more (dryer, dishwasher, washing machine). Very comfortable beds, the host was so kind to make them as 2 doubles knowing we were 2 couples traveling. Everything was super clean. Even the view from the kitchenis amazing. Thank you for the hospitality!

Ivy Cottage is located just outside Spean Bridge near Fort William in the Scottish Highlands. It offers a cosy 1 bedroomed space all on the lower floor. Perfect for couples, hill walkers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The cottage has central heating and everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is one double bedroom and a small double sofa bed in the living room. There is also a lovely open fireplace in the living area for an evening fire.
  • Great cottage in a beautiful location. Fraser was a nice guy who made us feel very welcome. We loved the fact that he had made sure there was firewood provided.

    Vera2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a few cosy days at Fraser's. The cottage was well equiped and we truly loved the fireplace (which helped keep the cottage cosy as it was already quite cold outsider!). Apart from the road that was quite passing during the day, we loved the location and cottage. Thank you Fraser!

    Camille2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fraser’s cottage is just incredible! It is in the most beautiful location and is full of thoughtful and hearty touches from the amazing open fire to the super comfortable bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you could want and it’s super warm and cosy at night. Fraser and Jessica were both lovely and happy to help with anything we needed! We also really enjoyed taking warm baths whilst it was pouring rain outside, it was just an overall wonderful place to stay. Can highly recommend!

    Chelsea2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was amazing and everything we had hoped for! The cottage was surrounded by beautiful mountains, had free WiFi, lots of plates, bowls and cooking equipment. The log fire worked perfectly and kept us very warm! There are no normal tv channels but the tv did have Netflix and YouTube which suited us fine. The cottage is about a 20 min drive to a big Aldi and M&S, 1 hour drive to Loch Ness, 30 min drive to Ben Nevis (which is why we went to Scotland!). As mentioned in previous reviews the water is a funny brown colour, but was absolutely fine to drink, shower and cook with. Fraser was an excellent host who responded very quickly and helped us out massively when we had to leave a day early! Thanks Fraser!

    Haylea2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very cosy, well equipped and nicely decorated. The fireplace is superb! Great location, very short drive from Fort William. Frazer was a great host and gave us some vegetable from his garden.

    Natalia2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really good time at Frasers beautiful cottage. It is a great place to explore the highlands and it has everything to need to feel at home. The communication with Fraser was perfect!

  • Ivy Cottage is a comfortable and warm place, well located, in a pleasant environment. There are well hidden looks a nice garden and a small patio to relax. Fraser is very friendly and has responded well to our requests. Really good !!! Jocelyne and Jacques.

The property is located within the area of Lochyside which commands fabulous views of Ben Nevis and Nevis Range. Lochyside is 10 minutes from the centre of Fort William by car and 1.75 miles on foot.
The space is the upper floor of a two storey home accessed by a flight of stairs from the hallway. The floor consists of two double bedrooms and a bathroom, all accessed from a small landing. This floor is for the sole use of guests who will share the bathroom. Both bedrooms are front facing to wonderful views of the mountains. Each room is lockable and offers a king size bed, wardrobe, drawers, tea making tray and free WiFi. The bathroom offers showering facilities over a bath. Towels, shampoo and soaps are also included. Continental breakfast is served in the downstairs kitchen diner and a cooked breakfast is included on request.
The property is situated in a quiet residential area with use of communal car park. Ideal base for exploring local areas and places of interest. Old Inverlochy Castle, now ruined, is a 5 minute walk away via Soldiers Bridge. This bridge can be used as an excellent view point for the Jacobite steam train (featured in the Harry Potter films).  The pleasant walk continues along the final stage of the Great Glen Way into Fort William centre through the village of Inverlochy. Neptune Staircase with beautiful canal walks are a 5 minute car drive away. All local amenities, bus/train stations, bars, restaurants and tourist information can be found in the town centre which is also just 10 minutes by car.

  • Irene’s place is super clean, warm, quiet and welcoming. The room was beautifully appointed with tea and coffee facilities available. In the morning Irene made us the most amazing breakfast - the selection was beyond expectation and we really did feel so spoilt. Besides all this, you are located a short distance from the Ben Nevis Inn so perfect position to start the ascent. Irene also has lots of local knowledge and recommendations- so do yourself a favor and book to stay!

Our home is close to the city centre, parks, great views, Fort William Town (10-12 min walk) and the Best mountain biking shop in town! . You’ll love our place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, the neighbourhood, the light. Proximity to all amenities, Friendly family (3 young dogs & an 11 year old boy) Short Walk to Old Inverlochy Castle and loch Linhie.
Our home is a smoke free environment. Whilst smokers are welcome I would ask that if/when you smoke you do so outside. There is a covered area (lean too) attached to my house that visitors can use for smoking or for hanging/drying damp clothes or equipment. There is also ample storage for bikes, skis etc.
Inverlochy is a really nice neighbour hood. Beautiful surroundings with lots of trees, greenery and areas for children to play. Nevis Cycles Mountain Bikes are situated across the road and we have a local pizza and fish and Chip Shop near by.
  • Caro was super nice and very helpful. She even gave me a lift to the train station on the day I left. I also liked the fact that I could have breakfast in my room. Her dogs were also very excited to meet me ;-)

    Meike2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a total of 2 nights at Caro. Caro and her son are very friendly and adorable. In addition, their 3 dogs have sweetened the stay very. In the accommodation itself you have a spacious room that is well equipped (breakfast table, TV, ...). The bathroom, which you share with Caro and her son, is upstairs and is also very nice. Caro is very helpful and also always great tips for the environment.

    Patrice2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Caro is a dynamic and welcoming person who love to share advices and tips about the surroundings. Everything was perfect in the house.

    Claire2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Caro is a brilliant host and her space is ideal. The room has everything you need, with a comfortable bed and great bathroom, and its location is perfect - minutes away from major roads and, of course, the stunning mountains, but quiet and peaceful too. I would highly recommend staying with Caro and her wonderful family.

    Kaitlin2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely room, comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equipped. It feels like home, it's very warm. And it's nice to see that a host takes care of its visitors! Caro is very friendly and friendly, she is open to the world, loves children and animals. His dogs are very nice and calm. Cleanliness impeccable, congratulations and thank you, I recommend this place!

Quality built apartment, perfectly situated at the start of Glen Nevis which is an area of outstanding natural beauty, yet only a 10 minute walk into the town centre and a 20 minute walk to the start of Ben Nevis footpath.
Enjoy breakfast overlooking the River Nevis. This property is immaculate and finished to a high standard. Ample parking and garden space.
  • I stayed at Janet’s apartment in the few days leading up to the Coronavirus travel restrictions being put in place (just my luck to plan a trip and then have that happen), so although it was unusual times, I didn’t feel any less welcome. We did check in via FaceTime to adhere to social distancing but I still got to know everything I needed for the apartment’s equipment etc. It’s an absolutely lovely place to stay - the furnishings are stylish and very comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are excellent and the location was exceptional (if you’re there to hike/walk/climb, it couldn’t be better placed) right at the top of the glen. I’d thoroughly recommend a walk/drive down the glen after dark - there are some excellent open spots for stargazing. I’d love to return, and probably for longer next time when the town is more lively, although I have to say I loved how quiet everything was and how few people - a real welcome solo escape just before we all had to lock ourselves away for the foreseeable!

  • Crannoch Apartments is a wonderful place to stay. We were impressed with the location, the cleanliness, and the design. Janet gave us some great tips for how to spend our time and despite not having a car and the sometimes torrential rain, we had a great time and really enjoyed exploring all Fort William has to offer. I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone I know. Thanks again!

    Anya2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is truly a wee home from home and makes for an excellent base for staying in the area. Janet is lovely and came to greet us promptly and showed us how everything worked. The house itself isn't the biggest but is modern, clean and stylish so is perfect for a couple looking to get away from the bustle of the city. Despite being walking distance from Fort William, it was a peaceful place to stay too, and we certainly slept well! We would absolutely love to stay again if we were in the area.

    Iona2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

    Jessica2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Compact and very modern appartment with everything you might want for a short stay (or a longer one for that matter). Comfortable and clean with good facilities. Very convenient location at the Fort William end of Glen Nevis, close to many great walks but also not far from town, 10 mins or less drive to Morrisons or a 20 minute walk to the town. We had good weather too, which I presume Janet cannot always arrange!! Definately recomend. Janet, very helpful, she acted as "call out" for us as we were walking high in the mountains - beyond the normal call of duty, thanks Janet.

My family home is in the suburbs a 15-25 minute walk from Fort William town centre (2 km) and has easy access to Ben Nevis, Nevis Range and Caledonian Canal. Our house is in a quiet location and has great elevated views. The shared modern open plan guest living room and kitchen are a real bonus, as are the secure bike and kit storage. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. Our cockapoo Rhum is non shedding and asthma friendly.
You have your own double bedroom with great elevated views over the loch and hills. Your bedroom is upstairs with great elevated views down the Loch to the Corpach hills. As you can see from the picture the room has a double bed, sofa, drawers and hooks for hanging clothing on the back of the door. The TV shows Amazon TV and there is a hairdryer in the drawer. You have a private modern guest shower room. Please note this is not an ensuite. You have access to the communal modern open plan living room with kitchen. There are 2 sofas in the living room and there is a TV with Amazon TV. The kitchen has a fridge, combined microwave/oven/grill and induction hob. The table sits 4 or can be extended to sit 6. We will provide ingredients for you to make your own breakfast - a variety of cereals, breads, jams, milk (soya can be provided if requested). Assorted teas and coffee are also provided. There is an additional charge of £10 for extra bedding.
We live in the quiet suburbs of Fort William just 2 km or a 15-25 minute walk from Fort William town center. In the high street you will find a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. Our house is 2.5 km from the train and bus station approximately a 30 minute walk. The suburbs of Fort William are built up on the hill behind the high street which means we have fabulous views of loch and hills but does mean that you have to walk/drive up the hill to our house. Depending on the weight of your luggage you may prefer to get a bus or taxi. There are always taxis at the bus/train station and I give detailed bus instructions in the transport section. Our street is a quiet cul de sac so parking on it is not an issue. There is space for one car in our drive way.
