  • This home feels like visiting your favorite grandma’s house, with cozy, bright kitchen, books, games, florals, doilies, and throw rugs here and there. You’ll find plenty of dishes, pots and pans to cook meals, plus spices, and various condiments in the refrigerator. Both bedrooms have plenty of room to spread out, and there are comfortable chairs in the living area. The location is close to everything in Fayette and within walking distance of restaurants on the town square. We enjoyed staying here and will come again.

  • This is a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty and fantastic breakfast, as well as the hosts- they are warm and attentive. Great experience,we want to go back.

  • Catina's place is the most lovely and refreshing oasis. You have to see it to appreciate its beauty. I never tired of sitting on the lovely porches overlooking the lake. The hosts were so very accommodating and kind. This is a place you must experience for yourself!

  • Catina and her husband are warm, hospitable hosts. They are very friendly and share their property generously. They are available and helpful as needed but also allow for the privacy you may desire. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The house is very unique and in a beautiful area. You feel quite secluded and relaxed yet not far from town and city. If you are looking for a unique, relaxing place, this is it!

  • This place is awesome! Pictures can't do it justice. The house, the land, the lake, and the views are all spectacular. Would definitely stay again.

    Daniel2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Catina's place! The location is private - perfect for escaping city life. I would recommend this location to solo travelers, families, and especially small groups as there are plenty of places on the property to either hide away from the world or visit with friends. Catina's "thing" is yoga - which is evident by the lovely Chakra themed rooms (she also does yoga retreats and classes, I did not participate but it is evident this is her passion so I'm sure they're great!) I was welcomed to my room with a small chocolate, which just set the scene for how thoughtful Catina is; She went out of her way to make sure I had the visit I was looking for and was comfortable. I will be recommending this location to my friends and look forward to another visit.

  • Catina and Bryan were phenomenal hosts. They went out of their way to accommodate our group. The property is absolutely idyllic. The lake is beautiful, the outdoor space is manicured, and the baby goats are adorable! We had a group of 10 people from age 70 to 4 and Everyone had an amazing time. You will not be disappointed if you book this place.

  • If I could stay here every day of my life, I would! The hospitality, the charm of the home, the breakfast and the kindness will never be forgotten. What a wonderful place and hosts. I've already recommended a stay to family and friends.

  • We had a great stay. We chose this location for a recruiting trip to CMU. If my son decides to attend CMU, this will be where we stay when visiting!

  • Unique and very comfortable setting. Catina is a thoughtful, gracious host! We stayed overnight at JJ's Folly after enjoying a play in Arrow Rock. We felt like our short drive was leading us to a secret hide-away - - which is exactly what JJ's Folly turned out to be! Magical!

  • Very nice peaceful place with a great host!

    Elane2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a charming find! From the moment we pulled up, we knew it was special. The home looks almost like a giant tree house and it is surround by a beautiful lake and large lawn. It’s incredibly tranquil. We enjoyed our time watching the goats play and relaxing on one of the many decks overlooking the water. Our hosts were very welcoming and provided a wonderful breakfast before we left. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from it all and relax.

Artistic, colorful, quiet, modern decor set inside a horse barn. Overlooking a serene field with a creek beyond. A walking path to stroll on. There are books and art supplies and a record/radio player. Amenities to make coffee or tea and food of course. A good place to get away from the hustle and bustle to unplug and get quiet with yourself. The barn has a traditional shower and an indoor toliet, though it is a non-traditional composting toliet. There is electricity and running water.
Plans for an outdoor private bathtub area. Imagine soaking in a hot bath under the stars with snow on the ground! The neighboring field has horses. Hosts live about 1/4 mile down the lane and have small children, chickens and cats and dogs. The animals will likely not notice you, but may come take a peak.
We are a rural location with open space, and not too close of neighbors. But kind ones who are near. We live within 5-10 miles of recreational areas such as: Rudolph Bennet Conservation Area, Hungry Mother Conservation Area, Rothwell Park. We are also within five miles of the Woodsmen Distillery in Higbee Missouri, and the Motorcoss Racetrack on Hwy BB.

The small attentions to detail is much appreciated and the house was spotless when we arrived. 10/10 would stay again. Such a perfect place.

If you like camping you will enjoy this private 500 sq ft timber frame cabin nestled in the midst of a naturalized garden. Eclectic mix of antique and vintage furniture, art, books. Good reading lights; WiFi; great mattresses! Wood stove. Composting toilet in separate building; outdoor shower. (Shower, interior water are turned off Nov-February due to freezing). Max 3 adults; 2 adults/2 children. Well behaved cat/dogs OK. No events, indoor smoking, candles. Hosts live about 15 minutes away.
I would have thought that my little cabin could be described as “Rustic’- but when I look at other listings that term seems to include many luxury items I can’t offer. So perhaps it would best be described as “primitive with wifi”, “boho grandma chic”, or some other silly term. However we describe our little cabin it provides a simple, beautiful, quiet space at an affordable price. Like camping, but nicer, because at the end of the day there’s a leak-proof roof, a really terrific mattress, and utter privacy. Depending on the season you may wake up to wind in the willow, rain on the metal roof, cacophonous frog song, the tapping of woodpeckers, or the raucous call of a young heron landing on the little pond. (If you want to explore along the Missouri River, access to the Katy Trail for hiking or biking is just a few miles away in Boonville, Rocheport and New Franklin, and the cabin is also near several large hiking areas.) The main room has a double bed and a twin bed. The small exterior bedroom (single bed) has a separate entry from the outside, just off the enclosed brick patio (this set-up might make it unsuitable for some young children). There is also futon on the patio. Woodstove and window AC is available in the main room only; the small bedroom can only be cooled with a fan or heated with an electric heater. The timber frame cabin features 19th century wooden timbers reclaimed from my great-grandparents barn in Iowa, a structure originally built to house draft horses as the railroad was being pushed through the Midwestern prairie-and later locally famous as a venue for country dancing. When the pipes won't freeze (approximately April-November, there is hot/cold water inside the cabin, and a shower outside. If you like cold water in the summertime there’s a large outside tub- and you can fill it up for a cold soak. When the plumbing is turned off during freezing weather there is still water available outside, and and an electric tea pot inside to heat it up quickly. Wood heat in the winter. There is dry wood and area for a campfire outside. The cabin is surrounded by a mix of prairie, native trees, and a naturalized garden of trees, shrubs and perennials. Something is usually blooming- from the first fragrant witch hazel in February to the last asters and sunflowers of fall. No matter the weather you can find shelter from sun or rain along the outside of the cabin: an eastern facing shade structure (outside furniture and a dining table), a Southern ‘picnic’ table area, and a western facing intimate bricked patio just outside the small bedroom (double futon). There’s also a great spot to relax in a hammock under the birch trees. Cooking can be done inside by microwave, electric hotplate, electric skillet, or crockpot. Gas grill outside also has a burner. There is a small refrigerator. When the weather is nice I usually do all my cooking outside on the giant wooden counter. There is a modest supply of utensils, dinnerware, glasses, cups, and pots and pans. There are small amounts of basic supplies for the kitchen: salt, sugar, oil, spices, tea; coffee filters for the mellita cones ( or a one cup electric coffee maker if you prefer) . Outside, if you’re quiet, you might see native rabbits or deer as they sneak in to nibble at our organic garden of vegetables, fruit trees, ornamental shrubs, and flowering perennials. We’ve also seen coyotes, fox, skunk and bobcat in the woods and prairie. The fields are populated by the other usual country critters- squirrels, mice, voles, groundhogs, box turtles, birds, insects, five stripe skinks, and snakes. There's a vocal population of bullfrogs and tree frogs. Hawks nest and raise their young nearby. There are armadillos in the vicinity but so far we’ve haven’t spotted them. From neighboring farms you may hear the sounds of cattle, horses, braying donkeys, or dogs. A few steps from the cabin you can walk up a brief incline and make your way to the quiet green shade of the pond. The property also features a lovely, small spring-fed ‘branch’ on the eastern perimeter, a deep ravine to the north, and opportunities for slow meandering, looking, and thinking. There are good spots for yoga, laughter, conversation, meditating, praying, daydreaming, dancing, painting, reading, napping or writing. There is a wooden yoga/sleeping deck just outside the back door- a great place to sleep under the stars. You can peruse an eclectic selection of books- fiction old and new, and a variety of topics from biology and anatomy to birds, wildflowers, and gardening. We provide towels, sheets, quilts/blankets, and rags for emergency cleaning (mud or spills), and a modest selection of soap and shampoo. On Saturday you can head into Boonville for organic eggs and fresh fruit and vegetables at the small farmer’s market, or drive into Columbia to the much, much larger one. There is a dorm sized refrigerator so if you bring lots of food we encourage you to use a cooler. If the vegetable garden is producing we will hope to provide you with some vegies, fresh herbs, or tomatoes or fruit- and if the timing is right we’ll put some flowers on the kitchen table. Or perhaps you’ll venture out to pick some wildlings from the prairie or the ditches. Our early season vegetable gardening, and some of our fruit production, is done in the field above the cabin (you won’t usually see us but you might hear us laughing as we work up there). We tend the upper garden and the cabin gardens several times weekly, depending on how much watering and weeding is needed but we are respectful of your privacy. If you want to learn more about gardening we always need help and we love to talk organic gardening with anyone who is interested. The cabin is less than five miles from a basic grocery store in Boonville, or about 25 miles from a wide array of international, organic and natural foods in Columbia. Access to the Katy Trail and the Missouri River is nearby. The famous Budweiser draft horses are less than ten minutes away, but book your tour in advance. If you’re from out of state and you want a cultural outing there are many local and regional historical sites, as well as museums in Fayette, Columbia (Museum of Art and Archaeology, and the Boone County Historical Society), Sedalia (the Daum), the St Louis Art Museum, and Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Art Institute. If you want to eat out the local choices are wide, from down-home cafes in nearby small towns to upscale wineries (nearby Rocheport) and bistros (Columbia and Rocheport). WHAT WE PROVIDE: Basic dishes, pots and pans. Beds with sheets, pillows, blankets. Towels and washcloths. Toilet paper, soap, shampoo and dish soap. Flashlights. We provide a supply of extra water as protection against loss of electricity or problems with the well (unlikely, but always best to be prepared). We keep small amounts of herbs and spices in the kitchen, along with pepper corns and salt. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: Food, sunscreen and mosquito repellent; your preferred lotions and personal care items; camping gear if you want to sleep outside; camp stove if you don’t want to use electric appliances or the grill. Hats. Sturdy shoes and pants if you want to hike through the fields or woods (to protect yourself from poison ivy, chiggers and ticks). When you leave we hope the cabin will be reasonably tidy with damp towels hung on the stainless steel sink or on the rod outside; dishes cleaned, and appliances turned off. We ask that you place compostable material in the compost pile, and that you separate the recyclables from the actual ‘trash’. If you need help with something, we’re about fifteen minutes away. We’re usually in bed before 9 (but up by five or six); texting is a good way to communicate as I don't have email coming to my phone.
This is a rural property with neighbors about 1/2 a mile away in three directions.
  • Diane’s cabin is a lovely and peaceful retreat. Lots of amenities and coziness. The garden, even in winter, provides a bounty of beauty. A special place.

    Sara2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's cabin was perfect for a quiet weekend of solitude in the countryside. It is quiet, cozy, and clean. I would recommend this listing if you're looking to get away from it all (without being too far away from nearby towns) and enjoy peaceful relaxation.

    Rob2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot a little, but not far, off the main road. If you love dark skies, this is a great spot.

    Don2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time staying at Diane’s place. It’s perfect for a restful, relaxing weekend in the country. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the necessary essentials, and the bed and linens were very comfortable. Even though it got down into the 20s one night we were there, the wood stove and two electric heaters kept it nice and toasty. We had a lovely time and will most definitely be back in the future!

    John2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for predictable and traditional accommodations, best find a boring road side motel. This is a glamping (glamorous camping) retreat! If that is you expectation, you will be so pleased by all the thoughtful touches and patina. The bed is comfortable surrounded by this snug cabin and we feel asleep instantly to soothing night sounds. When you have to go potty at two in the morning you will have to trek to the outhouse, but the reward will be a black sky with stars so bright you want to stay out all night to admire them. Luckily there is a chase lounge for just that! The Beamis composting toilet is clean and well kept and works wonderfully. The warm outdoor shower is a novelty and it is kind of special to dry off in the morning sun. We recommend a robe and shower shoes in October. The kitchen is serviceable and well equipped to cook on the grill or a cooktop. Pour over coffee and hot tea are wonderfully when you sit listening to bird song and the buzzing of the native garden. Sit in the hammock and read a book, get unplugged, it is a little slice of heaven!

  • I cannot recommend this place enough. Diane was a gracious host. She was so helpful and brought fresh eggs the day we arrived. If I am ever in Boonville again, I am staying with Diane! PS. The stars at night were breathtaking.

  • Diane’s ‘cottage’ is sweet, simple (in the best ways), and wonderfully relaxing. We enjoyed the the location for its beautiful trails and fun restaurants/shops. The perfect place to unwind and step back from the busy-ness of life. Diane was a wonderful host and was very intentional about ensuring our experience was enjoyable.

Great location! Lovely second floor apartment in historic, 100 year old brick bungalow. Private beautifully decorated and well-equipped space, separate to the main house, provides you the comfort and amenities you require to feel like home. Easy walking distance to downtown Boonville, Katy Bike Trail, restaurants, and casino. Warm Springs Ranch, home of the Budweiser Clydesdales and Columbia are a short drive away. Private courtyard & second story deck offer a place to relax after a full day.
The second story apartment has private outside entrance with 21 steps leading to the 2nd floor deck. Vintage pedestal bathtub requires one step up and step down entrance/exit. If you have mobility issues, these points are worth noting prior to making your reservation.
Windy Nest is located in a residential neighborhood just 2 blocks from downtown Boonville within easy walking distance to eateries, bars, antique and vintage shopping on Main Street and other nearby locations.
  • Windy Nest is a delightful place. It was very clean, smelt wonderful, and had all of the amenities that were needed and then some. Ron and Cheri added so many personal touches that really made us feel welcome. The beds, bedding, and towels were all top of the line and super comfortable. We chose to stay in Boonville because it was close to our destination without being too busy. Because we enjoyed our stay so much, and did not have an opportunity to do the walking history tour (book provided by host), or visit some of the boutiques, we will be making it our destination in the near future to do so. Can't say enough great things about our experience. Thank you Ron & Cheri!

    Cheri2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely weekend staying at The Windy Nest!! Right when you walk in, you are greeted by beautiful decor, personal touches, and a sense of warmth. Adorably decorated, comfortable bed, clean bathroom and kitchen equipped with everything we needed and more! The host really went above and beyond to make up feel comfortable and welcome. Located right by Main Street, we were easily able to walk to restaurants and shops. It was a quick drive to visit Rocheport and Columbia. Ronald was a helpful and responsive host who gave us great ideas for what to do/ where to eat in the area. Super easy check in and check out. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and will stay here again if we are in the area!

  • We needed a simple place to stay a few nights while we attended a beekeepers conference in Moberly. This little house was great! Not too far off the highway, but far enough to enjoy the quiet and peace of the country. It provided the perfect, cozy place for us “country kids” to get some rest... much better than a hotel for us. We had everything we needed for the weekend and felt more at home... everything was tidy and easy to find. The sunrise was beautiful each morning! Jan was a great host and had great communication. We would have enjoyed staying another night.

  • This place is amazing ! It is so close to state parks and a large Amish community that was so fun to see and buy things from them like butter and produce and oh the bakery is so good at the Amish farms. The vacation was a wonderful quiet and relaxing experience. We didn't have a tv but it was so refreshing to have game night with the family instead. We have been to many airbnb's but the Scott's house was our favorite. Jan had everything there we needed and the rugs are beautiful as well at the quilts. This is a great old country home that we were so lucky to find. Not many like this left ! We opened the windows and enjoyed the fresh air. This is a rare gem.

  • Very comfortable accommodations. My girlfriend constantly commented about cute the house and decorations were. Very clean. It would be a great spot for a family or group of friends for a wine weekend due to all the rooms and common area.

  • This space is clean and very comfortable! We loved all the touches showing how much the owner has truly though about the experience of the guest! We will certainly be returning to this adorable town and this fabulous location!

  • Stayed in the Jefferson Room. Loved the “unhosted” style breakfast where the fridge was stocked with eggs, juice, muffins and a cold Diet Coke was just what I needed when we arrived! Very clean and best location on the Katy Trail. Super cute town. We ran the Katy Trail each morning and the Bistro down the road was a hit. Great value!

  • This space was amazing and met everyone of our needs. Close to stores-very convenient. It was so very nice to have a space to meet up with my kids and their friends. Being able to cook for them and get them a home-cooked meal was very appreciated! Everything that Robert promised was there and readily available. He answered all of our questions almost immediately. Robert thought of everything that was needed and delivered it in an awesome, clean, spacious house! The complimentary bottle of wine was great!

  • What a great place to stay! We were in town visiting family and felt that this house was perfect for our group. Thoughtful touches all over the house (local area information, games, fully equipped kitchen, etc) were much appreciated!

    Kelsea2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for three generations of our family to stay while we visited extended family in Columbia and Warrensburg. Robert has added all sorts of extra touches throughout the house to make it cozy and inviting and fun. We especially appreciated the Christmas decorations (and chocolates). The house had information posted everywhere to assist guests--I appreciated how the info was helpful rather than demanding. This was the best equipped kitchen of any rental we've ever stayed at (and we use kitchens extensively). It was very clean. Towels and bedding were plentiful. Robert was quick to respond to our questions and needs. Beds were comfortable. House was spacious. Location is excellent--so near everything fun and historic in Boonville, including the Katy Trail. The basement was a bit cool, but that's probably because the carpet had been taken up temporarily; I'm guessing it'll be recarpeted by the time anyone else arrives. Robert even went out of his way to mail an item we left at his house. This was an excellent experience!

    Bruce2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rob place is fantastic. We had a great time and all my family members that came along appreciated his thoughtfulness for putting notes and providing so many amenities. It was very clean, and the house has every thing you will need. Thanks.

We were there for the Missouri State Wrestling tournament and we had a very short stay. We wanted to stay longer!!! We intend on booking again as a couple and then again as a whole family. Shelley’s husband was outdoors as we left and my husband talked to him for a while. He is very very nice as well! We cannot wait to go back!!

  • We had a great time staying at Lynn's place. It is a cute space filled with wonderful art and interesting books. We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing and enjoying the breeze. It's located right on mainstreet and is walkable to anything in Arrow Rock. Thanks Lynn!

  • Lynn's home in Arrow Rock is a wonderful house full of wonderful books, plenty of art on the walls, and located in a prime spot for taking in a show, eating amazing food, an experiencing the special small town charm of the Rock. We had a great time along with our pup who loved the space to run around. There was a beautiful eastern phoebe nesting on the porch that was a welcome neighbor as she was caring for 5 eggs, and quaint birdsong in the morning from the trees. The instructions were solid, the place airy and full of light if you wanted, plenty of items in case you pack light (we had everything we needed but were thankful to have access just in case) and a location you can't beat. Thanks Lynn!

    Stephanie2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is older, but a cute gem for those that care about history and architecture. He has a great setup for just a few people or a medium sized group, nice porch space, and a great mini fridge stocked with juice and water, fresh fruits and cookies. He's not intrusive or elusive, he's there when you need him and not when you don't, which is great since he resides downstairs. He provided us with daily coffee and had a lot of good reading books in pretty much every room upstairs. Although the house is older, the heat works well (we stayed in early March) and his location is great for visiting the shops on Main Street. He provided us with a city map with local places to visit and historical sites. Overall he helped us have a great weekend, especially for the price!

    Ambrosia2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • John was really nice, and the room was just what we needed. We were surpised by the layout of the rooms amd that the doors had no locks, but the stay was nice and quiet, and we had no problems.

  • John is a warm and friendly host, and his cool old house is full of interesting knicknacks. A great Airbnb for cyclists riding the Katy Trail through Boonville. I wish I'd had more time to sit on the front porch and enjoy the breeze. Thank you, John!

  • An incredibly sweet man. Very hospitable. The morning coffee was a brilliant touch, and the animals running about are absolute loves.

  • My three teenagers and I stayed at Roseheart with John when we were biking the Katy Trail and we really enjoyed our stay. Not only was it affordable, but it was homey, quiet, and comfortable. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves with two beds, a pull-out couch, and a futon on the veranda where I decided to sleep (lovely!) John checked in the day of our arrival to see when we would be arriving, and he even sent a pair of headphones left by my son back to us by mail which was above and beyond the call of duty. John gave us recommendations to a delicious pizza place in town which is a quick walk away. Morning coffee and chat on the veranda was very nice. The house is eclectic and filled with art and novelties and if you are expecting something fancy then don't go. But if you want a slice of real life and a historic house for an affordable price, then this is a great place. The back yard has a labyrinth which I walked in the morning surrounded by lovely birdsong.

We loved his dog, who was so quiet and well-behaved, but no worries if you’re not a dog person as you may not even know she is there! We could not have asked for a better experience and would gladly stay there again. Thanks, Brock!

  • Brock’s place was extremely clean, he was very hospitable, and he made communication easy.

  • I don’t think it’s possible for an Air BnB to be better than this one. The condo was really nice and very clean and Brock went above and beyond to ensure a good stay. He was a really nice guy and you can tell he loves Columbia, Missouri and knows it better than just about anyone. He was incredibly helpful and the price was a great value. I can’t recommend staying here enough. This was probably the peak of my air bnb experiences.

Stay in Arrow Rock's oldest home. The Latch House was built in 1829 as a town store house. The home has been lovingly restored with renovations completed in 2018. Beautiful yard and flower garden. The Latch House is centrally located, just one block from the Boardwalk and 3 blocks from the Lyceum Theater. The kitchen has state of the art appliances in it's quirky galley style kitchen. Arrow Rock sit next to a beautiful state park with a visitors center, picnic areas and hiking trails.
The floorboards in the original section of the house were made from flatboat and keelboats that were broken up on the nearby landing of the Missouri River, prior to the saw mills in the county. The historic village of Arrow Rock is an ideal getaway. The town, a National Historic Landmark, evokes the warm spirit of the past and is full of friendly people, great restaurants and shops, and fascinating historical attractions. The adjacent State Park offers hiking trails and a small fishing lake.
  • Bottom line is that you can’t find a better place to stay in Arrow Rock. I dare you to try.

  • This was our second time staying at Lucy’s house. It’s the gem of Arrow Rock and we can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

    Ryan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this home so much!! It was sparkling clean and very inviting. The sunroom was my favorite!! It’s a great, cozy room to unwind in!! The two upstairs bedroom were a good size and nicely decorated. It also has a good size modern bathroom. This is an old house that was renovated beautifully!! I loved all the furnishings. The location is perfect. We were one short block from town and two short blocks to the wonderful theater!! I would definitely stay here again!!!

  • We had a delightful weekend in Arrow Rock and absolutely loved staying at the Latch House. The pictures represent the house but the minute you walk in the door you have a "ahhhh"...feeling. I looked at our three guests and they all had huge smiles immediately upon arriving. The house was super clean and had everything that we needed. We found interesting touches throughout the house and loved talking about the excellent remodeling effort. We would quite happily stay there again and hope it works out that way!

    Sara2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space! Super close to Catalpa and the local theater.

    Abigail2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We planned our stay when we scheduled a tour at Warm Springs Ranch. Walking distance to Arrow Rock Historic main street, state park, and visitors center. Recommend checking their events and tours scheduled during your stay. We had a very relaxing time away from the demands of day to day life.

  • Bob was very accommodating for our stay, with adding our daughter, and our changing arrival times due to traveling (late start, weather, flight delays, etc.). He made us feel like we were coming home, and that it was not a bother at all. We were in town for the Ole Miss/Mizzou football game in Columbia , and he provided great tips for parking and where to eat. The space was great, and the beds were comfortable. The house was spotless! If we are ever back in the area, we will certainly try to stay here again!

  • We really liked this place. It was clean and had a really nice appeal to it. The beds were comfortable and the location was extremely peaceful. We were able to relax and play games and enjoy each other. I would suggest that if any guest is needing/expecting wi-fi since it is listed as an amenity, please check with the host to ensure the wi-fi is properly working. We did see a wi-fi signal, but could not get it to work. Host was responsive and said he would have the Geek Squad come out and work on it. Great place!

  • Great location. Nice and quiet place with really great towels. Very modern and lots of extras. The pool table justified the price. It was fun to play pool. Small kitchen table so hard to play games or cards without a TV. Thank goodness for the pool table.

  • Very nice place, love the craftsmanship and personal touches and interior design. Very nicely thought out to make it a comfortable stay. Love the country setting and getting a little history lesson being right next to Boone's Lick and visiting that historic site. Amazing that a salt mine use to be there back in the day. This Airbnb is 30 minutes to Columbia make sure to ask for the shortest route to this Airbnb because the directs given makes its 1 hour to and from Columbia. Be prepared to do some country cruising:)

  • The place was super clean and quiet. The location is very remote and we did not have any cell service. There is limited wifi access but it went in and out and was unreliable, so expect to be very unplugged while staying here. The space was bigger than I expected and comfortable for our needs. The breakfast provided was a wonderful touch.

  • This was a convenient stop for us off I-70. The space is divided into 2 rooms but provides private space for 3 people due to partitioning of the living area. The couch/beds in the living room were more comfortable than most. It is a very quiet location.

  • Peace and quiet away from the city. Vey relaxing and there were even a few snacks and breakfast items. The only sounds are sheep nearby. Peter handmade many of the furniture pieces and added lots of detail. Great pool table - wish I stayed long to enjoy it and other amenities. Peter and the house keeper were friendly and helpful. Great value and plenty of space for me to quilt.

  • Words cannot express how beautiful Breathe is! My kids loved it, ages 6-20, I loved it and we will definitely be coming back! Catina & Bryan are the best hosts and I am so glad they share their amazing piece of heaven with us!

  • Catina's home was the perfect place for a weekend getaway with a friend. It provided a beautiful, unique, and peaceful setting to unwind. The hosts were so friendly, breakfast was delicious, and the views were wonderful in every direction. I hope to return when it's warm enough to enjoy the water.

  • Well, to say that I had a near perfect experience staying at Catina's AMAZING architectural and visual wonder of a home, would be an understatement. You MUST book. This place IS the destination. There is so much thought, character, planning, patience, diligence in the soil of this beautiful structure, lake, bridge, that the gravity hits you the second your off the pavement and onto the gravel to the home. The hosts are absolutely DELIGHTFUL human beings. Kind, patient, accomodating, easy-going, earth and family loving, beautiful couple. They work together seemlessly, intuitive in every sense. I am planning a trip back in the Spring and bringing my two sons to fish off the dock/slide down the slide into the lake/chase the chickens around/listen to the rain on the many awnings/covered porches. P.S., Those crazy chickens make the tastiest eggs, which were served omlet style at breakfast. The taste of fresh eggs and fresh ingredients made the omlet amazing.....Vanilla Greek Yogurt with fresh berries were a favorite also!

  • We were so lucky too stay here for the great American eclipse 2017! I've had a number of AirB&B experiences and all have been so lovely. However, Catina's place was unlike any other. Stress seriously melted away in the beautiful setting with these lovely hosts. From homemade breakfast (farm fresh eggs) with good company, nature hikes, excursions on the private lake, to sunsets on the balcony or dinner in the nearby town square - we are in love with Catina's place, Breathe at JJ's Folly. Surrounding towns are charming, but it's tough to venture out when everything is so perfect on the premises. I look forward to going back for no reason other than to relax.
