  • We had a long weekend at this beautiful house in a beautiful location. The house has everything you could possibly need for a large group. Hosts were very helpful

  • Wonderful weekend spent at Kennedy House. Extremely well equipped house with so much space to enjoy and relax. Margaret and Ken were very helpful on the run up to our stay and gave us a very thorough tour of their wonderful house before leaving us to enjoy our weekend. They gave us a small welcome package which was very kind and a lovely touch. The weather over the weekend wasn’t great, however, it meant we had more time to enjoy our time in the house. Would very much recommend and hope to be back. Thanks Margaret and Ken.

  • This place is perfect for stays with big groups of people. There were 16 of us and the house had more than enough room for us all comfortably. The kitchen in particular was so well equipped. Kenneth and Margaret were lovely and very responsive when messaging, they met us on arrival and also had some bubbles in the fridge for us which was a nice touch. Would be more than happy to stay here again.

    Lauren2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house for our family group of 15, amazing place to stay that had everything. Incredibly spacious, luxurious bedrooms and kitchen and living room were perfect for everyone getting together. Great location within a short drive of Glasgow which was perfect for day trips. Ken and Margaret were very helpful and responsive hosts.

  • Thank you Ken and Margaret for a lovely Airbnb experience from start to finish! Margaret was always prompt with replying to my messages through Airbnb which was helpful as I was organising for a group of 10 to stay! Can’t fault this stay at all and I highly recommend it for family get togethers or low-key hen or stag dos! The house is in a residential area and there are house rules, so if you’re looking for somewhere to party hard and loud, this place isn’t for you! But Ken and Margaret have highlighted that in the advert! We loved relaxing here together as a family and will plan to return again! Great points below: Fabulous stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook for a large group! Spares of everything, more than enough for go round and not need to wash up between meals. Gorgeous jacuzzi bath tubs. We didn’t have use of the hot tub for our stay but it really isn’t needed with the jacuzzis inside! Huge comfy beds!!! Well decorated throughout. Little touches that are so helpful like washing up liquid, two dishwashers with ample dishwasher tablets, shower gel in the bathrooms and some shampoo and conditioner. Just perfect! Thanks so much both!!

  • I came to visit my family for Xmas and decided on a trip to Scotland for everyone. I was sold after looking at the photos and booked it. Upon arriving ken and Margaret were such a warm lovely couple welcoming us into their home, they decorated the place extensively for Xmas and walked us through everything finishing with a welcome pack of bubbles and basics. Just lovely touches. The house itself was just stunning and my entire family will remember Xmas this year forever, I’d love to return the next time I’m around.

  • I brought my family in to Kenneth & Margaret's home for the first time and we had a wonderful stay. There were 15 of us staying there and everyone loved the house. The large kitchen was the place were the whole family gathered together and there were plenty of other areas to sit if people wanted to be in a slightly quieter environment. Several of the larger bedrooms also had their own seating areas which was a lovely touch. The house was extremely clean, the hosts were both lovely and thoughtful and my whole family loved it. We definitely hope to stay again in the not too distant future. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

    Dullatur, Scotland, United Kingdom

There's 200 years of history in our cosy little cottage. Part of the original village cross and formerly the post office, it is now a fully refurbished one bedroom haven. There's wonderful walks from the doorstep and it's a great base to explore the cities and sights of central Scotland. Please note that the village pub, The Swan is closed for refurbishment following a community buy-out. It is due to re-open late March/April 2020.
This is a ground-floor converted stone cottage in the quiet village of Banton. There's a king size bed in the bedroom and the sofa bed can accommodate 2 more. The kitchen/dining/living area is semi open plan and there's an outdoor patio at the back if you're lucky enough to enjoy some Scottish sunshine. Although you can "get away from it all" here, it's also just 8 minutes drive from the M80 which is a gateway to the cities, historic sites and Highlands of Scotland. We're 25 minutes drive from Glasgow, 50 minutes from Edinburgh and 20 minutes from Stirling. There are lots of walks and the Forth and Clyde canal is a 20-minute walk away.
This is a lovely Scottish village in the Kilsyth/Campsie foothills. There's a (quiet) pub across the road with a nice cosy cafe/restaurant and a wee shop and ‘The Village Gallery’ around the corner . There are tennis courts (honesty box donation), bowling club (for members), basketball court (free to use) and kids' playground. You can walk around Banton Loch, through the Colzium Estate (with waterfalls and lovely walled garden) and into Kilsyth (and get the bus back). Or you can do a circular route up to High Banton and back. Or you can walk east out of the village then down to the canal and along it before coming back up to Banton again.
  • The cottage is a great place to stay and fabulous hosts!!! Will be coming back

    David2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodation information and reality correspond completely. Catherine responds quickly to any questions or concerns you have. Very detailed, very nice. A 10 in everything. With us he has behaved wonderfully. Totally recommended. We will repeat for sure

  • Catherine has a small charming cottage in a quiet rural area in beautiful Scotland.

    Allen2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine's place was comfortable and in a great location for exploring the local area. It's close to Antonines Wall, Summerlee and the Falkirk Wheel. The pub across the street is full of really friendly people, but will be closed for renovations for the next little while. Catherine is a lovely host and was a pleasure to meet.

    Christine2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were two couples staying while rowing on the forth and Clyde canal. It was a great location. Easy access to lots of local sites. Home made chocolates on our arrival and even more home bakes delivered by Catherine to congratulate us on our Row.

  • Lovely, comfortable cottage in a convenient location.

    Laurence2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage in a beautiful village. Clean and all amenities as described. Well worth a visit. Host Catherine was very kind and thoughtful withher wee personal touches...also communication was excellent

  • Everything was wonderful stay! Catherine was so great. So many great touches. We had to catch an early morning flight and didn’t get a chance to spend much time there. The cottage was so cute and clean. Definitely checkout the bar across the street. The Swan Inn. Great drinks and you can walk there! Thank you for a great stay. Well definitely be back!

The house is in a quiet hamlet, a 20 minute drive from Glasgow city centre. The house holds a good central position close to airports; Glasgow airport is 30 minutes away and Edinburgh airport is 40 minutes drive and is a good base for a variety of day trips in and around the city. Twechar is situated on the Forth and Clyde canal which is used for cycling, walking and kayaking. There are many walks in and around Twechar itself for instance the Roman Fort and easy access to the Trossachs.
The property has an open plan living room/kitchen/diner. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms. The master bedroom benefits from an en-suite with a walk in shower. There is also a bathroom with shower above the bath. There is a WC downstairs. To the rear of the property is a large garden with lawn which benefits from views to the Campsie hills.
Twechar is beautifully situated on the canal with wonderful views of the glen and the Campsie hills. We love the quiet and friendly atmosphere. There is a licensed local shop for any essentials open 7 days a week. Monday -Thursday 9AM - 7 PM, Friday - Saturday 9AM - 9 PM, Sunday 9AM - 4 PM. There are many supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. Sainsbury’s or Lidl in Kirkintilloch, Co-op or Lidl in Kilsyth, Marks & Spencer, Tesco or Asda in Cumbernauld. Places to eat- Glenskirlie House and Castle is very highly rated. It scores 4.5 out of 5 on Google and Trip advisor. Dinner for two (with drinks) would be £60 - £100. 12 minute drive. Milanos express is good for pizza and burgers. Most dishes are £6. If you order a large soft drink, it comes with unlimited refills. The Mac & Cheese is super. Cost for dinner £20 -£30. 10 minute drive. Milanos Steak house is a slightly more upmarket, slightly more expensive version of Milanos express. Cost £30 - £40. 7 minute drive. The Boat house is the closest restaurant to the house. It is 5 minutes by car or, if you are feeling fit, a 45 minute stroll. There is a tow path that runs along the canal for the full length of the walk. The restaurant itself is on the banks of the canal at a small marina. It is a relaxing location to enjoy an evening tipple. The restaurant reopened in early 2019.
  • Fab hosts, fab stay in a lovely, clean, cosy house. Even though it rained all the time l, we still had a lovely break🙂🙂🙂

  • This place is amazing will 100% be returning again with my family. Lynsey was very kind and helpful thank you for making our trip and stay enjoyable.

    Ash2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We left in a group of 4 (from them couples) and the house was perfect for this travel configuration (I think a small family would be fine there too) very comfortable and very very well equipped (internet box, cast device on the tv, lots of cooking utensils) we didn't lack anything. We rented the house in winter so we did not take advantage of the small garden / terrace but we had a view of the snow-capped peaks in the vicinity. The price / quality ratio is exceptional and the house is located in the middle of everything and close to major cities while remaining isolated in a small village development. I recommend !!!

    Julien2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts - communication excellent - modern house is deceptively spacious inside - well equipped with everything we needed - warm and cosy - perfect base for easy commute into Glasgow without the hassle of trying to find dog friendly with easy parking in the city.

    Chris2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Colin and Lynsey’s place was exactly as described in the listing. The house is in a lovely neighbourhood and was very cosy and welcoming for our family. Lynsey was very helpful and quick to respond to my messages. We would without a doubt stay here again, when in the Glasgow area. Thank you Colin and Lynsey for being such great hosts!

  • A beautiful, comfortable and cosy house which is much more spacious than expected and a delight to stay in. Very clean with excellent, thoughtful touches and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beds are extremely comfortable and storage is plentiful. The village is very sweet and communication with the owners was quick and clear. I would absolutely recommend this house and these hosts!

It could not have been better: A large comfortable room, a magnificent home which you allowed us to use in comfort, a beautiful yard, an attractive quiet neighborhood, convenient to nearby facilities, AND the two most gracious hosts that we could have possibly imagined. The great pleasure of meeting other members of your fine family, was a personal satisfaction, as well. Your many courtesies were so generous. And all of this at a most reasonable price. What more could we have asked! We feel so fortunate to have found you through the Airbnb, which we had never used before. We simply cannot thank you enough for this important part of our visit to Scotland and other of the British Isles. We would consider that we were doing them a great favor. Rudy & Jo Ann Mueller Dallas, Texas USA
We are located in a quiet cul-de-sac with a south facing garden for soaking up the sunshine. Yes, we do get it in Scotland from time to time.
  • It was such a lovely place to stay! Colin provided great information upon arrival as far as what bus to take when leaving the airport and how to catch the train, and even offered getting a taxi if need be. They cooked delicious breakfast for you in the morning and let you choose your menu. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It was like being back at home. Colin and Fiona are such lovely hosts and so kind to chat with. It was a wonderful accommodation.

  • This is definitely a home away from home. Fiona made sure we had everything we needed from the second we walked in the door. She even offered to take us to our train and made sure we got back safely when we returned in the evening. She ensured we had a stress free vacation and a very full stomach every morning. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

  • My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights whilst visiting friends around the area. We had a lovely time, and there was a travel cot for my daughter which meant I didn’t have to bring mine. Responses were quick and everything was as it said. I had a problem with my phone which meant I couldn’t reply back to them for a few days, but messages were still sent over to me

  • Lovely little place. Cozy. Just a tad difficult to find at first but nothing google maps can't deal with. A slight kerfuffle at the beginning trying to find a way in but sorted out very quickly by the hosts. Definitely well worth the money

  • My family (4 adults) booked this place for our last 2 nights in Scotland. We were flying out of Glasgow and wanted a place close by the airport, but not downtown, as we had a large van to park & lots of luggage. We were also looking for a large enough place for all of us Along with a washer/dryer and this place had all of these requirements! The owners were very quick to respond and let me know they would be out of town, but gave me easy info to find the place & entry instructions. They also gave me a contact of someone close by, if I should need help. The place: It’s in an older suburban section of town, but we really liked it, as it felt homey. Townhouse style setting with each place connected to each other, but there is a little gated entry patio and a nice wooden deck in the backyard. There are 3 bedrooms (1 - downstairs (single bed) & 2-upstairs (1- large bed & 2 - twin beds). Bathroom (shower, no tub) is upstairs, which worried me as my Mom has mobility issues, but she was able to make it up and down with no problems. It was nice to be able to cook in the kitchen, which had the basics. It did only have 1 large frying pan, do maybe they could add an additional one as it would come in handy. All in all we enjoyed our stay. It’s not a new house, so the age shows, but it was clean and spacious enough for all of us. It also had working wi-go, which was a big plus, as it can be very spotty in Scotland! Note to the owners. It would be beneficial to leave instructions on how to use the heaters. We figured out the white ones, as they’re common in Scotland, but the additional one in the living room baffled us. Thanks for a great stay!

Charming, quirky and original. A taste of Scottish countryside, but near to all that Central Scotland has to offer. Fresh air guaranteed! Near all main visitor attractions and scenic areas. Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Ayrshire and Perthshire too. Very close to John Muir Way, Antonine Wall, Colzium Estate, Kelvin Valley, Carron Valley. Situated on a working farm with sheep and cattle, our farm was the site of the Battle of Kilsyth in 1645. Spectacular scenery.
Our wee bothy is cosy and original. It is tastefully decorated and comfy. We have an outside hut for you to sit in and read or drink hot chocolate and watch the world go by. There's a lovely outdoor seating area for barbeques and sunny days. It is a lovely space to be with your friends and family in.
Our bothy is nestled into the Kilsyth Hills above the beautiful, peaceful village of Banton. We are a 5 minute walk from the village itself. In Banton there is a pub, which is going to be refurbished very soon. It presently serves alcohol and food. There is a Multi Use Games area (football, basketball) and a childrens' play park. There are tennis courts in the village available for a small fee to the bowling club. There are walks around the village and along the canal. The village is a safe place to walk around.
  • What can be better than waking up in the morning to look out on the Scottish countryside and enjoying the farm life? Lovely space with everything we needed and centrally located to explore all of Glasgow, Edinburgh,Stirling and Loch Lomond surrounds.

  • Cosy 2 bed space near Glasgow. Good location for reaching various different areas. Good amenities. Hamper of food and small bits in the fridge were a lovely touch.

  • This was a great wee place to stay whilst we were between houses. Just wish it was a holiday we were here for because it is so relaxing and well located. Very friendly hosts with lots of local information. A real gem!

  • A home from home - comfortable and with everything you could need, including a welcome pack of food and drink! Perfect location, on a farm but close to Glasgow, and the warmest of welcomes.

  • Fantastic location. We stayed for two nights as part of a trip to sterling to look at university. All the humans. Dogs cows and chickens were very friendly. Very nice welcome pack Thank you Heather

    Jonathan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Heather's farm. Felt very welcome and getting a basket with all my fav biscuits was a nice surprise.

    Stephen2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's place is warm and welcoming and well suited for those with a rustic bent and an understanding for what country farm living is really like. It is a working farm and comes with all the sights and scents of the true land. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a solid base for a vacation in Glasgow for the museums and the hills for the hiking. We will be back. R

Brockieside is an idyllic hideaway where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Central Valley and Pentland Hills offering seclusion, comfort and relaxation. There is an abundance of beautiful walks with waterfalls and a lush landscape. But it's only a 30 minute drive to the lively city centres of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling.
Brockieside is a stunning hideaway in the hills overlooking Glasgow and Edinburgh.  Built around 1806, Brockieside is a row of three adjoining shepherds' stone cottages one of which has been converted into a beautiful holiday home.  Sitting in 1.5 acres of private ground and set high in the Kilsyth Hills, the cottage has spectacular views with ample outside space for private parking, alfresco dining and a safe area for children and pets. You are surrounded by beautiful waterfall walks and lush countryside but it is only a 30 minute drive to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. The contemporary interior with wooden floors and central heating throughout has an open plan kitchen/living area with an electric cooker, beech worktops and butler sink. Down a short corridor is a living/dining room (with great views over the valley) with a double sofa-bed, TV, dining table, and stylish en-suite washbasin. Extra storage space is available in a double wardrobe also containing extra pillows and blankets for your comfort.  Stairs from the kitchen lead to a beautiful attic conversion comprising a double bedroom with king-sized double bed and memory foam mattress, Vellux window and wardrobe.  Opposite the bedroom is a lovely warm bathroom with a free standing Victorian roll-top bath with shower attachment. Bed linen and towels are provided.  You will also find a range of specialist teas and goodies to enjoy. Organic fed free range eggs made by a small troupe of specialist hens who live on site! Pets are most welcome. I have a small Border Terrier called Heeruh. A welcome basket is also available on request at a reasonable charge with items you may request for your arrival. Bread, milk etc There is a wealth of local historical attractions and interesting places to visit within short distances. There are also supermarkets, restaurants, parks and a train station locally.  Kilsyth High street has a chemist, butchers, a fishmonger, a bakery and greengrocer.

  • Great place to stay, location was central to towns, trains and family. Colin was wonderful in giving my husband a driving lesson to help with the round abouts and he aslo provided taxi service to a party so we wouldn't get lost. Colin also provided schedules for the trains and which to take, how long it would take to get to our destination etc. Fiona put out a great traditional breakfast. we would certainly recommend this b&b

    Paula2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, elegant environment. The family is wonderful and helpful! Excellent breakfast, impeccable cleanliness. A lot of sympathy and care for guests

  • A terrific experience! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt very welcome and part of the family! Colin and Fionna’s Hospitality was exceptional! Thanks so much for everything!

    Dave2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This B&B was one of the nicest places in a very long time. Colin and Fiona were great hosts. By chance they saw us walking to their home and stopped to pick us up. While settling and unpacking tea and Cookies were served. Their home was cozy and lovely to stay. Breakfast was superb with quite a few things to eat and some local Scottish dishes to try as well. If we around again I for sure would check if their place is having a spot free for us.

    Ruijie2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • First off, the hosts: Colin and his family are charming and hospitable in the extreme. They provided tea and cakes (predominantly Tunnock's - hey, it's that part of the world), and happily chatted with us for a good hour or so. They clearly love meeting new people. Next, accommodation. Very comfortable en-suite room, utterly spotless. SLEPT LIKE A LOG. Breakfast: I had a very good cooked breakfast, my wife had porridge, cooked to her desired consistency. Also, the dining table heaved beneath the weight of cereals, fruit, toast, honey, and jam. Ongoing communication prior to arrival was good. Directions were spot on. Overall, it provided a perfect pit stop on a long drive from London to the Scottish Highlands. Recommended.

    Barry2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Colin and Fiona really went above and beyond for my stay. Great accommodation, great breakfast and great people. Thank you both so much for everything. I highly recommend this property.

  • Comfortable flat, totally agree with all the positive reviews. It was a bit fresh in there as we arrived but putting the central heating was straight forward. Nice not to worry about breakfast: eggs, milk, bread, butter, jam, tea and coffee (there was a nice coffee machine, though we didn't use it, so no feedback on that)

The room is provided with tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water . There are cereals, porridge and toast to help yourself to if you would like in the morning. My house is a charming, timber clad house and quite spacious. There are gardens to the front, side and rear. Denny is a small town/ large village in the middle of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. Parking is plentiful and free. Lastly, if you have cat allergies or simply don't like them, then my house will not be suitable.
It is a 3 bedroomed semi detached house with a large garden and a driveway.
The neighbourhood is very quiet. There is a small corner shop almost opposite the house no more than 2 minutes away. There is a Sainsburys and Iceland 5 to 8 minutes walk away and Denny is a 12 minute walk away where there is a Co-op, a Greggs a few cafes and takeaways and a few other shops. More extensive shopping is possible 10-15 minutes drive away if needed.

  • Donna makes you feel welcome straight away. Having a cuppa and a chat while watching TV and enjoying her home made cake. I got to meet the other guests and we shared travel stories and tips. Donna also gave sage advise if driving towards Glasgow downtown to park at a free parking area and catch a train, this is a lot easier on your nerves and pocket. A simple breakfast is included. A cosy home with lovely touches to make you feel relaxed. Thank you Donna

  • Great stay. Donna was the hostess with the mostess! Nice room with a comfortable bed, TV, internet, closet space, jug , tea, coffee, biscuits. What more could you want? 😎 Access to kitchen and the rest of the house. Convenient store only two minutes walk, supermarket another seven minutes away. Will stay again if we visit Denny again for sure.

It also hosts two electric recliner chairs, cable TV and in the bedroom there is a TV/DVD with a wide selection of DVDs. Simon2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Christine was a very nice host who replied to all our messages immediately. Her annex provided my husband and I with all what we needed for our three night stay in the area. It was the perfect hub for our visit to Edinburgh and Loch Lomond. Even if we had a rental car, we decided to take the train to Edinburgh thanks to the availability of public transportation close by. Also, a pharmacy and a grocery store are at walking distance. As for the place itself, it was spotless clean and very inviting. My favorite feature was the washing/drying machine since we had already been traveling for a week.

    Adela2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Annex was just perfect in so many ways. Beautiful decor but comfort was also high on the list of priorities for our host. The two magnificent recliners and super comfortable bed really had us feeling pretty pampered. The location means you’re in the midst of quick access to major cities with all their history (and St. Andrew’s golf) while enjoying the calm quaintness of a small village. Lovely and highly recommended! Lee and Joyce

    Jemma2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really nice time at Lorna's place. The flat is a cosy quiet place to relax after a day exploring the gorgeous countryside or visiting Glasgow and Edinburgh. It's easy to park with a beautiful view on the green. No noise at night, no traffic jam and enough conveniences to have a comfortable stay. Lorna was super reactive and always quick to answer our questions.

  • We had a lovely stay. It had everything we needed and more. Very clean and cozy. Convenient located to explore Edinburgh, Glasgow and local surroundings. Unfortunately we where not abele to meet Lorna. The communication with her over the app was very good and we would definitely recommend others to stay here.

  • Margaret is the perfect host. The apartment is spotlessly clean and is fitted out with everything that you'll need for a pleasant stay.

    Calum2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret’s place is welcoming, cosy, tastefully decorated, comfortable and beautifully clean. The location in central Scotland is ideal for visiting lots of major tourist attractions but also offers peaceful rural charm: we walked along the banks of the Forth Clyde canal and saw deer, swans, geese, kingfishers and many other birds. It was lovely. Margaret is a generous host and provided fresh eggs (laid by her own hens), sweets, biscuits and tea and coffee. The bathroom has lots of toiletries and the bedding and towels are comfortable and of good quality. We had a great time and would love to return.

    Biff2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent option if you plan to visit Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Margaret took care of every single detail, from breakfast (the best organic eggs you will ever have!), toilet accessories and even sandals to go around the house. Clean and warm, with private parking, her place was more than enough as we wanted a place just to sleep (but it has all the facilities to stay at home if you want, including TV, a nice living room area and the best equipped kitchen, with everything you might need). The bed in the main room was very comfortable and she even left us an extra duvet because we had an extra guest. Margaret even allowed us to stay 40 minutes more as a late check out to prepare all our luggage while she was cleaning for the next guests. Would definitely recommend it!

    Daniel2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 3 days in Margaret's house, an independent, spacious and comfortable unit, enjoying absolutely everything you would expect in a house. Exchanges with Margaret have always been easy and enjoyable. The arrival in the house was perfect! And nice surprise, Margarte was worried that we would drink like milk, if we liked eggs and what were my daughter's favorite treats. And we found an assortment of sweet little touches like salty .... including eggs from his chickens! Margaret is truly an exceptional host, eager to truly welcome her guests. Do not hesitate to choose your accommodation!

    Licinia2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great flat, excellent communications from Margaret. We would happily stay again.

    Chris2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great accomodation, cosy and clean, with everything you might ever need. Great view over the land, fresh eggs from the own hens, and short ways to Edinburgh and Stirling. Below is a takeaway where you can get a great full scottish breakfast, but you don´t smell or hear it in the flat. We´d love to come back some day!

    Ute2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend staying at Margaret’s place for anyone visiting the area. The place is lovely & Margaret is great to deal with, I will be definitely trying to stay here again if back in the area.

My flat is a 3 bed spacious flat and I do not live on the premises so you can do a self check in. Details of this will be given when you book. There are three bedrooms .There is one bathroom, kitchen, lounge and dining area and you have full use of the flat. Baby equipment available on request. also a folding single bed available and again please book in advance so that I can make it up for you if you want to use it. I have had Sky Q installed so tv is very good + Netflix.
It is a 3 bedroomed spacious flat on the ground floor with it's own entrance. There are 3 double beds. I have recently added a single fold up bed suitable for a child or 7th person. if you require this bed, please make sure you let me know so we can make up the bed.A cot and highchair can be provided on request. To manage your expectations, this is not a luxury flat but is well equipped, nor is it in a picturesque area but it does represent good value for money.
Cumbernauld is very convenient for shopping, fast food and restaurants. Approximately a 12 minute walk away is a substantial shopping area with ASDA, Tesco, 2 undercover shopping areas, McDonald's, KFC, Beefeater, etc. Directly opposite the flat is a fish and chip shop and about 5 minutes walk from the flat is a Chinese takeaway and an Indian takeaway. The area of South Carbrain is not aesthetically pleasing and the block in which the flat is in is also unattractive but the flat has it's own entrance and is nice inside.
  • The flat was clean and spacious ! The communication with Donna was great, i got what i expected !

    Lehel2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was a great host. The communication was outstanding and she was really helpful when i mentioned an issue. It got sorted basically straight away. The area isnt the best looking but it was quiet and hardly any people outside. We felt safe there. The flat is very comftable and the beds gave us a good nights sleep. I can only recommend the flat and will book it again as soon I will go up to scotland again. Thanks again Donna x

    Virginia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z

    Sudhanshu2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location really close to shops. Chippy over the road is really Handy! This really was the best value for money deal I can remember, 3 bedrooms. Easily enough bed stuff, kitchen totally stocked up. Shower fine. WiFi fine. I literally have zero complaints about this place. Donna is the most attentive host and we kept in touch throughout the week. I’ve noticed reviews about the location. Nothing wrong whatsoever. If you want to stay in a glamorous area, go to Mayfair Or Park Lane and pay those prices lol. Highly recommend for personal or work trip (ours was work)

    Paul2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to access, clean and comfortable.

    James2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Prior to our arrival we were sent a comprehensive route guide, so knew exactly how to get to the flat. The flat itself is a great size (there were 6 ladies in our party) with 3 large bedrooms. The lounge/dining room was a great gathering area with comfy sofas. There were lots of little extras such as cereals, milk, tea, coffee, jam etc. The flat has fast wifi and we were all able to hook up to it with no problem. Donna provided lots of info on local facilities and amenities. She also replied promptly to any query we had. This was a perfect base for our one night stay and would highly recommend if you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay. We'll definitely book again for next year's run. Thank you!

This beautiful stone farmhouse is ideal for a family get away or a group of friends looking for lovely long walks or cycling. Located in the Kelvin Valley in Central Scotland, where it is close to the historic Antonine Wall and Forth Clyde canal. It also provides easy access to the historic sights of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.
Riskend Farmhouse is located on the south facing hillside overlooking the Kelvin Valley. A beautiful traditional stone farmhouse built in 1806, it has plenty of history as a well loved family home. It offers a large, fully equipped, kitchen dining room with double oven, hob, microwave, dish washer, fridge and freezer. As well as the kitchen dining room there is sitting room with wood burning stove and a large laundry for hanging and storing outdoor clothing and footwear. Accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 with double bed and 2 twin rooms, one of which can be converted into a king size bed. There are 2 bathrooms (one with bath and separate shower, one with shower). All bedrooms have a southerly view across the Kelvin valley.
The property is situated near the foot of the Kilsyth Hills, giving many walks and cycles routes either from the house itself or within a short drive. The Antonine Wall is nearby alongside the Forth Clyde Canal which runs east to the Falkirk Wheel, then Edinburgh, and west towards Glasgow. Situated next to the farm is the Colzium Lennox Estate which is a public park, with a walled garden and play area. There is a selection of brochures and maps in the house for inspiration! The house is a 20 minute walk away from Kilsyth town centre, which has bakery, butcher shops and a fishmonger, as well as a chemist. There is also a Lidl and Coop in Kilsyth, as well as a large Tesco a 15 minute drive away. There is a doctors and dental surgery in Kilsyth, should you be unlucky enough to need this on your holiday. There is a swimming pool and a pub with restaurant. There are several good restaurants within a short drive. Take away food can be ordered, though collection is recommended.

  • Laura is a fantastic, lovely host that knows her stuff. She knows the local area quite well for places to eat, shop and the great connections to Glasgow. Her two French Bulldogs, Charlie and Brooke, are like big cats with their calm and lovable, huggable nature. The room itself was big enough for one and I did not mind the day to day family things that happened when I was home after training at work. She even took my suit to be dry cleaned after I politely asked so it came back fresh for use in my next meeting. Even cleaned my clothes too when I asked about how I used her particular washing machine (each manufacturer makes the layout and design different). Laura’s family are cool cats that didn’t mind a stay from a guy needing a place to stay in for a while. Laura is knowledgable, smart, a hardworking individual that will most likely make your stay a memorable one. You won’t certainly forget her cute and awesome dogs too!!
