At Utstein there are animals on the farmland and cultural pasture all year round and limited access to traffic. It is possible to see/participate in the farm operations. Newly renovated farmhouse on Auste Åmøy in Ryfylke, approx 25 minutes drive north of Stavanger. Here you can relax and hike in rural and scenic surroundings. On the way down to a nice swimming area, you can see and explore Southwest Norway's largest concentration of rock carving fields. Sheep and lamb can be experienced up close. Åmøy is also a good starting point if you want to visit famous places such as Utstein Monastery, Prekestolen, Sola beaches, Ørnhaug visitor farm, Kongeparken, etc.

Trodla-Tysdal has been a tourist destination for hikers since 1892. Tourists have to walk for appox. 3 hours (7 km) from Kleivaland parking place. There is no driving road to Trodla-Tysdal. Trodla-Tysdal means the valley of the Norwegian Trolls due the wilderness and dramatic nature. In 1996 Reidunn and Kjell built a tourist cabin for hikers. In 1998 in addition a small private cabin. In 2017 this small cabin was renewed and now it is possible to book this small cabin for you.

Within 1 hour by car you can reach the towns of Stavanger and Eigersund, or visit Månafossen and Kongeparken. It takes ca 1,5 hours by car to the parking at Preikestolen.
