Cabin vacation rentals in Royal Gorge

The Fortress is a wonderful place to stay. We had something for everyone to have an awesome time. We had a ggreat family reunion wwith our adult kids who live on the west coast. We enjoyed local attractions but found it a bit of a drive back at the end of the day from Manitou Springs or further. The place was immaculate, very comfortable, with a spectacular views. The host was very welcoming and responsive to questions. Thank you David, for sharing your beautiful home

We were looking for a secluded cabin with a hot tub. That is what we found here. It was a very relaxing getaway. The cabin was nicely decorated, very clean, and had everything needed for a weeks stay. The instructions were clearly written out. It made it much easier to know what to do, since we had never stay in a place like that. We highly recommend staying here.

Our stay was relaxing and the cabin/views are absolutely beautiful!! The kitchen was fully stocked making it easy to stay in for a meal if you decide to. We would love to come back some day!

This place was AMAZING!!! We only stayed for one day and really wished we were able to stay longer. The views were way better than I had ever anticipated, the cabin was so cute, and it was fun exploring their area! By far our favorite cabin we’ve ever stayed in. We will definitely be back!

Greeted by Ross upon arrival, helpful instructions provided in the cabin. The property and cabin were beautiful. I hosted my micro-wedding here and everything went well thanks to his excellent customer service and awesome setup and amenities. This stay was amazing! Perfect location. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. Saw a few deer wandering in the backyard. Great recommendations for activities and restaurants. Would absolutely stay again!

An absolutely amazing place to stay. I was so in love with the location and the views! no pictures can ever capture the beauty and vastness of this area. I spent the whole weekend in the hot tub with a beer and a cigar during a snow storm. Golden Star vacation spot!

Douglass and Annie were so nice and went above and beyond to accommodate us. They even left some dog treats for our dog ! We really enjoyed watching movies but their amazing fire place and even saw 5 deer when we were walking around outside. Definitely would stay again

This was our second stay in this cabin so you know we had to have a great time there to come back again. The view is beautiful and quiet! There are others around but you feel like you’re the only one. In 2022 we brought our dog Bear but it was sad this year because he passed away but he really loved it too. I didn’t realize we left the Dog lead so he could stay outside with us, it was sad to see it was still there. The weather could not have been better. It’s a very comfortable and great place to stay.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We wanted privacy and quiet and that’s just what we got! We would book again.

This is a beautiful property run by an extremely friendly and responsive host. Directions to get to the property were easy and entry instructions were simple and easy to follow. The bed was comfortable and the decor is rustic and fun. The kitchen has modern appliances that are clean and functional. Basic cooking supplies are provided and she supplies a coffee maker and coffee supplies. The linen was clean and soft. Cynthia runs a property that is a textbook example of how an AirBNB should be operated and maintained. I highly recommend this property and operator. My wife and I were impressed and thrilled with our stay. It’s less than a mile from the Wolf Sanctuary which is why we were there. This cabin is supremely private. Agree romantic hideaway.

Great home, that feels like home. Huge comfortable couches, fully stocked kitchen with spices and containers for leftovers and everything I needed. Super close to the lake!

Had the best time! It was the perfect layout for our group of 5. My daughter and her besties loved hanging out downstairs in the living room and sang karaoke for hours ! It’s close to everything. Very peaceful and gorgeous! Everything you need is there ! The trail by the cabin to the waterfall was nice ! Cabin was clean , and accommodating. Great communication from the host! Lots to do close by. Hot tub extra nice after big adventures. Thank you !

Very peaceful and quiet location in a beautiful wooded area. Great place to get away from the crowds and lights of the city to rest and relax. Lee and Jeanne were both very friendly and helpful - would stay again!

Enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. The steep roads were a challenge because of the snow, so we were glad we had a 4wheel drive. The hot tub was definitely a plus since it was cold.

We had our family vacation here and absolutely loved it. It was a beautiful home filled with everything we needed or wanted. Our host was super responsive when we had a question but our trip was so smooth we felt right at home. We already talked about coming back and picking this as our home again for those days.

Shirley was the most responsive host I have ever had. The place was breathtaking. I am a total OCD clean freak and I could not recommend this place more. It was a true privilege to get to experience this property. Pictures can’t possibly do it justice and I can’t wait to visit again.

Brooke was helpful, responsive, and extremely kind. This location was amazing and our stay was extremely comfortable. Lots of nature and cute animals like deer, birds, and squirrels. The weather did not permit the use of the dome to view the stars but when it was dark and the clouds parted a little you can see just how many stars there are without all the light pollution. We had an amazing stay here the first week of June 2025! The view is beautiful, the kitchen was to die for, the hot tub was so relaxing and it felt so homey!! Definitely listen when Miss Stephanie says to bring an AWD or 4WD vehicle. That driveway is very steep!! We will most definitely be back again :) Absolutely no complaints!!

This stay was fantastic! My husband and I drove here all the way from Florida for our honeymoon. The area is gorgeous, overlooking a vast forest and the mountains. It was a very peaceful and quiet stay. About a 25 min drive to woodland park. And the cabin itself is so cute! The kitchen is stocked with seasonings, cooking oil, and anything else you could need. The only thing I’d advise is to bring a humidifier, as the air is very dry and cold. It was a lifesaver for our allergies and helped prevent nosebleeds. It will also minimize the little electric zaps you experience from being in a drier, colder climate. Of course this is just an aspect of Colorado, no fault of the Airbnb. Alec was such a friendly and communicative host, from start to finish. I highly recommend!

Beautiful cabin outside and in. Very nice craftsmanship on the build throughout. So many windows and all open easily. Love the ceiling fans that are very powerful and make sleeping with no AC easier. Heating worked well at night to keep chill away. Eye catching interior with large beam and multiple seating areas. My height prevented me from accessing the upper loft but it’s a cool space. Cookware/plates/towels and other supplied amenities were great quality and felt like a real home. The overlook patio is very inviting, but as another said in review, there are too many ants to take it all in. Within a few minutes of sitting, you have large ants crawling on chairs and on your shoes/legs. They do bite as our husky found out. The secluded location is very peaceful and quiet. At night you only hear wind blowing and distant horse neighing. Don’t underestimate the closest grocery store (15-20 min drive) and make sure to bring plenty of groceries and snacks with you on your way in.
