Places to stay in Rovaniemi

Beautiful place and ideal for lovers of calm and nature. We also appreciated the amenities available (sleds, skis...). We hope to come back someday, for longer.

“Wonderful stay in Maula” We had a fantastic stay at this cozy Airbnb! The place was just as described – modern, clean and very well equipped. We especially liked the breathtaking view of the Finnish countryside and the tranquility of the surroundings. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. They gave us great tips for activities in the area and made us feel comfortable at all times. We would particularly like to highlight the sauna, which was a real highlight – ideal for relaxing after an active day. The location was also excellent. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights several times. We highly recommend this place and would stay here again anytime!

We had a wonderful family visit and slept 9 family members. There was a hidden kids dress up corner in one of the bedrooms that was a great surprise. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. The heated floors in the bathroom were also great. The hot tub and sauna by the lake were wonderful to spend late nights at watching the perfectly dark skies. We will be coming back again.

Miia is a great host. She is super helpful and help us a lot before we arrive Rovaniemi. The house is such a beautiful place to stay, be it the house environment or their surrounding area. It is too big for 4 of us but we did enjoyed it due to great location in front of the lake. We experienced Northern Light just in front of the balcony. Very recommended to stay! Worth it! Emppu was a fantastic host! For starters, the house is typically equipped with one full bed. I advised him that my son was coming with me and that I would need more than one bed. He rearranged the room brought in a second mattress and it was perfect. I had hired a car service to pick us up at the airport and advised him what time we would be there and he offered to pick us up at the airport which he did and he also brought us back to the airport when it was time for us to go. He knew this was the first time in many generations that my family has gone back to Finland as we are Finnish. He knew how important and special this trip was for my son and I and he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we need often a ride so we wouldn’t have to take Ubers and gave us wonderful recommendations. I cannot say enough about how kind he was and made the trip with my son very memorable! When I go back to Finland with more of my family. I will definitely be staying with him again.

It was even nicer than we had imagined- we felt very comfortable and would have liked to have stayed longer. The house is an absolute dream, the surroundings as well... It was a great, peaceful getaway for us!

This place is from heaven… We were lucky to be Natalia’s guests. The cozy lake house was amazing and every little detail was well thought. We walked on the lake with the snowshoes provided, enjoyed the saunas (yes, you can even choose which one to use), made fires and grilled food. We had the whole lake view to ourselves and enjoyed the tranquility. You can enjoy this place as a couple or as a group. Natalia was very friendly and answered all my questions in minutes!! Even the most stupid ones —if you’re visiting from a warmer climate you might also have tons of questions but don’t worry. Also be aware of the road, it has hard conditions but definitely worth it. Many thanks to Natalia for sharing their house with us and giving us the opportunity to peek through the Finnish lifestyle.

We had three wonderful days at Villa Lumikko! Beautifully quietly located on the lake, excellent for watching the aurora lights. Super hot tub on the terrace and very nice sauna. The kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything you need. Clear recommendation!
