Cabin vacation rentals in Rocky Fork Lake

Our family of 5 loved our stay at this Shawnee State Park retreat! It ended up being rainy a lot of our stay, but the covered porch made it peaceful to listen to the rain, watch the rushing creek & have somewhere outside for the kids to hang out. Highlights for our crew were the proximity to the park with hikes & a playset, the tire swing, playing in the creek & a nice hot tub. Andrea’s place had all the amenities we needed & we had every meal there (scheduled a Kroger delivery for when we arrived to make it super easy). Andrea was also super responsive and helpful. Hoping to book here again in the summer for more Park hikes & some mini golf at Buckeye Dairy Bar!

Great spot for a quiet weekend away. The property had plenty to stay busy with right there for you. Golf cart, hot tub, and shuffleboard occupied a lot of time.

We are a family of 4, 2 kids ages 5 and 6 months. The cabin and surrounding area checked every box for a needed getaway. The cabin is the perfect mix of history and rustic with comfort. Its the perfect setup to put our kids to bed and be able to enjoy the hot tub and wood stove while they were sleeping within earshot and our daughter loved the swingset and play room. We unfortunately had an issue with the electricity which made cooking our meals a little trickier than anticipated, but Raymond and Nicole did their best to accommodate. A really nice touch is having the TV hidden. We didnt once think to turn it on and it definitely helped to keep our 5 year old from asking, too. It was a real family weekend without distractions. Having horse and buggies clopping by in the background was a cool touch of ambience too ;) Only less than peaceful thing were ATV riders at night through the creek at night but thankfu it didnt last long. We will definitely be back! :)

The cabin was cute and cozy and the kitchen was well stocked with items often forgotten. During our visit we watched a buck walk through the property, loved on a very friendly kitty, watched a lot of birds and squirrels scampering around and had many Amish buggies pass by. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning sometime in the future.

My family and I absolutely loved staying here!! It was beautiful, relaxing and very secluded. I would love to come back during summer months!!

Wonderful place to stay! Kids loved the upstairs bedrooms, and the hot tub was a nice relaxing treat. Easy to find and exactly as described. Would stay again!

I loved this stay ! It was in a beautiful location , I walked up the road and found a pear tree , behind the house there’s a beautiful open field. I will be returning ! Only thing is that there wasn’t any salt and pepper like listed . But I didn’t mind too much. Also to note I stayed during a warm season and struggle sleeping in the heat, the AC unit is in the living room so that it where I slept during my stay. Host was very responsive and friendly, there are stores nearby with everything you need. I felt very safe here and held by the beautiful surrounding nature.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The rental was very clean, reasonably priced and conveniently located near Hillsboro.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cozy cottage. Very peaceful. Sent instructions ahead of stay to be able to find the cottage and once there the home has been well kept and clean. Would definitely stay there again.

Just like the name states this is a very cozy hideaway. If you’re looking to go off grid and need some peace and quiet this is the spot. The hosts were Absolutely wonderful their hospitality and kindness are unmatched I was recommended hiking trails and all of what’s notable in the area. They were very accommodating if I needed anything they were ready to help. The area is secluded and your about two football fields away from the hosts house he even has a trail that leads from your cabin to there back porch incase you need wifi. All in all it was a wonderful time and I will defs be back soon to visit my new friends and hike some more trails!!!

Josef was an excellent host. We arrived early and his friendly dogs greeted us. Since we had arrived early, he was in the middle of something but was quick to stop what he was doing to give us a full tour and get us settled in. He was so helpful throughout our stay. The cabin was beautiful, clean and set up for us with anything we night need.

McChesney Ridge is a beautiful private location with all the necessary amenities and conveniences. The property has great walking trails, an incredible covered porch (pavilion) overlooking a sizeable pond. The house is roomy and well appointed with all the conveniences necessary... coffee maker, dishwasher, washer/dryer, etc... The beds, linens, pillows are super comfortable! There's a very peaceful feel, it's quite, comfortable and super relaxing! As this is my/our 4th stay at the "Ridge" it's obvious how well we enjoy our time here.

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend watching March madness basketball. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and the house was perfectly clean. The front porch was our favorite place for conversation, coffee, cocktails, and beautiful scenery. The nature preserve across the street was a great place to stretch our legs after our lounging around! We intend to come back.

What a great place! The hosts were fantastic! Just make sure you read save all your emails from airbnb because airbnb's last email on day of checkin did not contain the check in information. The app could use a little help for day of check in, too. Not on the hosts . . . They were very helpful and patient even when we were frustrated.

Jan and Jim were so welcoming. This little cabin had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. Beautiful property, many deer. A perfect spot for overnighting on a section hike of the Buckeye Trail, West Union section. So glad to have found it!

We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin was cozy and open and comfortable. The suite upstairs was perfect for our mom to have her own space. The fireplace was was so nice to have amidst the storm and snow. The town was just close enough to make a run for whatever we needed. And the local pizza joint was delicious. The cabin was easy to get to (better to have 4WD on the hills). And the host was very responsive. This is definitely a cabin to come back to.

Ross’ place was super. He was very friendly and helpful. His wife even made delicious banana nut bread for us!! We plan to visit again!!

It's a beautiful cabin in a peaceful setting. We had trouble at first finding it, because we followed the GPS and not the instructions the host sent. Much easier once we did that! The cabin is spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The pool table was a big hit! It was perfect for our large family. We hope to return in the future.

Annie was an amazing hostess when we locked ourselves out of the place at 10pm she was very responsive and sent someone over to let us in. The view from the place is worth going just on its own

This is our second time staying here. Love it.
