Oasis Downtown in Amish Country

NatalieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We have now stayed in all 3 Oasis location. I think this one is our favorite out of the three. It’s a little more noisy than the other locations, being right on a main intersection, but Sheila has fans in the closets for white noise & the location is so convenient. We loved the balconies, the hot tub, and the pool table. The outdoor furniture was comfortable, which is something rare for an Airbnb. I loved the light up mirrors in the bathrooms & by the vanity in the bedroom. We had a bit of an emergency situation late at night & it was taken care of quickly. I can’t say enough good things about all of the Oasis properties!

Pool Open Thru 11/1! - Now Booking Fall Dates!

RobertRating, 5 starstoday
This was the second time we stayed at this location. We cannot say enough how great this rental is!! Everything is spotlessly clean. The fenced in backyard is great. Rob keeps the pool and hot tub in pristine condition. The fire pit in the back yard is great to sit around at night. We were very lucky to have perfect weather the entire week and were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub every day. The location is central to all the wineries and covered bridges. This year we were able to meet Rob when he stopped out to clean the pool...what a nice guy...really enjoyed meeting and talking with him. This is a definite 5 star plus location. The only negative thing and is something that Rob and Cassie have no control over, is the constant barking of the 3 large dogs in the adjacent yard. The only positive thing about them is that you will not need an alarm clock as the dogs will wake you up precisely at 7:30 every morning. Otherwise, a perfect place to stay!!!

Schumacher's Gem Historic Home wth Hot Tub & Study

JosephRating, 5 stars6 days ago
This spot was exactly what we were looking for! The destination is on the edge of German village, making it's entirety walkable distance! The back yard felt private and comfortable! They had a patio to relax on, or a Jacuzzi to relax in, both providing a calm, intimate setting in the evening after a day of walking around German Village. The house was clean and provided comfortable living for the duration of the stay! The host had a list of activities and places to check out readily available when checking in which was handy in finding more things to do! The area was great with lots to do, plenty to see including but not limited to: parks, bakeries dining, bookstores and more! The host responded quickly to any inquiry I had, and gave more than clear instructions for anything in and out of the house. If I were to come back to Columbus I would absolutely stay here again!

Abby's Tranquil Lakeside Cottage

JenniferRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Amazing views, comfy beds, nice space! We saw blue herons every day! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t take advantage of the lake for anything other than looking at it from inside, but the location on the lake was amazing.

Sweet Peace Forest was a lovely spot for my wife and I to take our honeymoon. It was very quiet and allowed us some much needed rest and relaxation after the wedding festivities. We will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

I'll Have S'More - Picturesque Indoor and Outdoor

HeatherRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We whisked my adult son and his fiancée away for a peaceful weekend and wedding at Hocking Hills. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect cabin to relax before the big day! It’s absolutely gorgeous. We loved the double master bedrooms and separate living area for our teenagers. Not one but 2 amazing decks?! The owners have created an amazing space here.

Seven Oaks Cabin

CarlyRating, 5 stars3 months ago
My husband, 3 children and I had an absolutely wonderful stay! Karen is a wonderful, gracious host and truly goes above and beyond. She stopped by and made sure we knew where everything was and answered any questions we had! She made sure the kids had plenty of toys/books and even left them some snacks, making sure what we allowed our children to have first. It was a no screen weekend for us, and no cell signal made it all the better!! We hiked around her stunning property, watched the sunset over the icy pond, built a few fires and cooked dinner over them each night. We cannot wait to come back this summer! We made a weekend filled with core memories for our kiddos and wonderful memories for us. Thank you so much Karen, can’t wait to come back!

Cabin with pond & Fireplace * Hot Tub * King Bed

TammyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The place was so beautiful and clean and private despite owners being nearby and readily available. We arrived on my 60th birthday and there was on the table entering the cabin a Happy 60th Birthday welcome note on the chalk/dry erase board. Made me feel special! We had quite the rather funny experience with the hot tub. Let's say I felt like I was in Willy Wonka's Bubble Room!! I never laughed so hard 🫧🫧🤣😂. Jenny was quick to respond with a fix. We didn't use the paddle boards but fished from the shore and from the dock. Caught (and released plenty of bass (I got the biggest) and hubby got a huge catfish. Actually my hairdresser said they stayed here several years ago and she caught the large catfish too!! Anyway, we were so impressed on arrival that when I went online there was an extra night available before the next renter so we booked it with a couple hours after arrival!! Although it was rainy/stormy a couple times. Many amenities we didnt use, firepit/fireplace. I give👍👍!!

Cozy Cabin in the Mountains

ChristianRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Donna and her husband were so welcoming. They were present for when we arrived and had a nice camp fire going for us. I loved everything about this listing and can’t find a single negative note about it. Donna had fresh baked cookies for us as well. It felt as if we were family. Thanks for a great stay and I 10/10 recommend this to everyone looking for a getaway.

The Cedar Cabin @ River's Edge Bed & Breakfast

StaceyRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This were perfect for our travel. The dogs loved it as well. They have a wonderful coffee pot, coffee, and creamer in the mini refrigerator. The freezer works great in the refrigerator because we put ice packs for our cooler in there. The breakfast was awesome! We had the biscuit and gravy meals the first day. The second we had the farmers meals. It was fantastic for a great start of the day. There was plenty of room in the cabin especially if you have children. A loft for fun playing. I know I would've loved it if I were a kid. Thank you to Gina to making us so welcomed. We enjoyed the town as well. There is a cute park in town for dogs to play. Also many stores to see. My husband and I talked about how cool it would be to stay in the winter as well. Definitely recommend!

Amish Country Silo

DanielRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Amish Country Silo. Loved the views, the uniqueness of the home, and the peace and quiet. Mary was very responsive and hospitable. We found pet hair on top of the bedspread (none under the sheets), but Mary quickly brought us a fresh, clean one. Check in and check out were a breeze and we enjoyed the use of the hot tub. We would stay again

Arrowhead Ridge Off-Grid Cabin #2 No hidden fees!

Brett's place and hospitality were fantastic! The serene setting complimented a very welcoming cabin. He was really helpful in getting us comfortable with the space and the surprisingly ample amenities for an off grid setting. If someone is looking to disconnect and "rough it" while still having the comforts of home; this place is for you! I would highly recommend and visit again.

Your guide to Ohio

Welcome to Ohio

Some states are famous for their mountains or beaches. Ohio is famous for its people. One nickname for the state is Mother of Presidents, since eight U.S. presidents were born or raised here, although it’s noted, too, for the charm of its general citizenry. The state is also possessed of an unexpected geographic diversity. Ohio has major cities imbued with an urban energy, like Cincinnati and Cleveland. It has smaller cities with the flair and vibrancy of major metropolises including Dayton and Columbus, which attracts national attention for its culinary and arts scenes. The state’s bucolic villages and open farmland have attracted both the Amish and back-to-the-landers alike. And if people aren’t your thing? Ohio features rolling hills dense with picturesque cabins nestled in the hardwood forests.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Ohio

Ohio is splendid in the fall. September and October here are drier than any other months and tend to be cool and comfortable. It’s wise to pay attention to college football schedules here, as big games at college towns can lead to teeming crowds at restaurants and congested roads. Summers can vary from comfortably hot to uncomfortably hot; always prepare for occasional thunderstorms. Spring is a mixed bag, with some lovely days and others filled with chilly rain. Few claim that winter is the best time in Ohio — polar chills can dip down from the Arctic, and winds sweep across the Great Lakes to scour the northern parts of the state.

Top things to do in Ohio

American Sign Museum

Opened in 2005, this quirky collection claims to be the largest public museum dedicated to signs in the United States. Inside the 20,000-square-foot building are hundreds of displays of how companies have shouted at us from rooftops, storefronts, and highways. These range from signs touting a novel product called lightbulbs, to neon’s peacock phase, to now-faded roadside icons.

Cedar Point Amusement Park

With its 17 roller coasters and deep lineup of thrill rides, Ohio’s most popular amusement park — the second oldest in the country, dating back to 1870 — is a hit with kids as well as adults who feel that childhood ended far too early. Cedar Point sprawls over 364 acres, and the roller coasters range from a gentle 1964 wooden classic to the latest, fastest, most terrifying screamers. If swirling in the air at high speeds isn’t your thing, there are also water slides, kids’ rides, live entertainment, and dozens of food stands.

Toledo Museum of Art

Since it opened in 1901, the Toledo Museum of Art has amassed an impressive collection of art from a range of eras, including early Egyptian and Greek, as well as the work of historic and modern American artists. The museum is especially noted for its displays of historic and modern glass — there’s a glassblowing studio where you can see glassmaking in action — not to mention its stunningly modern Glass Pavilion.
