Vacation rentals in River Teviot

The Whislestop is a fantastic place to get away from it all. Peaceful, scenic and the property had great character. Terri made sure to provide all the relevant information and instructions on finding the property, things to do in the local area and ensured everything was clean and neat for our arrival. The personal touch of having the fire going for when we arrived was thoughtful and very much appreciated!

Just home after spending 3 days at Stuart's place. It is the perfect place to rest, relax and unwind. This being our 2nd visit in 8 months, we knew exactly what to expect and we were able to totally chill out in this beautiful space with amazing wildlife. We took everything we needed with us (food/drinks etc) so we didn't even have to venture off site. The lovely weather was an added bonus. Stuart was on hand when we needed anything and supplied us with flasks of boiling water when a local, planned electrical maintenance meant we had no electricity for a few hours. This also caused the TV to need rebooting and Stuart came straight to sort the problem out. This took a while but we chatted and felt totally comfortable in his presence. Planning to revisit next year.

The cottage is lovely with beautiful surroundings. The living room in particular is stunning. We are a family of 5 and had plenty of space. Our eldest (11) loved the loft bedroom. Instructions from Liz were excellent and using what3words we found the cottage with no issues. The area is gorgeous and we saw lots of wildlife on the way which was great. The cottage is about an hour away from the centre of Edinburgh, so it’s ideal if you’re wanting to visit Edinburgh but stay away from the noise of a city. Thank you so much for having us, we had a great time 😀

We had a wonderful break at ‘Ma wee caravan’ , it is in a perfect location with stunning views of the sea . The caravan was like a home from home and was absolutely immaculate inside and out . The beds are so comfortable and Claire was a great host, always very responsive to any questions I had , the welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and all in all we had a wonderfully relaxing break , can’t wait to return . We really enjoyed our stay at the Vista over the weekend. The scenery is stunning and the site and accommodation was immaculate. Kelly was a fabulous host and was really friendly and helpful. I would recommend a stay the Vista.

Cuddies Mercat is a great flat and Kelso was lovely to explore. The warm weather helped of course! Everything in the flat was as described with a well appointed kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and a large living room with dining table.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Michael as he was away but we did meet the lovely Carol who was there on our arrival. We had a brilliant 2nt stay in the Partridge Hut. It was exactly the same as the photos. A comfortable bed and large powerful shower. It had everything you needed for such a compact space. We were fortunate with the weather and were able to use the outdoor seating and even got the fire pit going on the 1 nt. It was lovely to wake up to the birdsong and the little bunnies hopping around. We ate at the Milecastle Inn which was recommended by Carol and was spot on and then had fish and chips at the Ocean takeaway in Haltwhistle the last nt. Hadrians Wall is just on your doorstep and the Lanercost Priory which is in walking distance from the hut. A great tearoom and gift shop there too. If you’re after a quiet and relaxing time, Michael’s place is perfect and we will definitely return.

Sharon was very helpful when we needed to ask any questions. The cottage is perfectly located for loads of fun kids activities, the beach and we even drove up to Edinburgh. The cottage is beautiful and all amenities were provided! We have a great stay! We will definitely be back again xx
