Beach Front Villa In Sian Kaan With Private Chef

This is a remarkable property fairly deep in the bioreserve. It was built just before the bioreserve was created, so it is "grandfathered" in. The home looks like something out of architectural digest. It isn't huge, but the design is second to none. We had a marvelous time. At night there were so many huge hermit crabs, plus there are iguanas, and osprey. Getting here is no joke. It is a solid 2 hours from Tulum town, including 1.5 hours or more of a very rough dirt road once you enter the bioreserve. It felt very similar to the Disneyland Indiana Jones ride minus the decor. We had a 4 wheel drive SUV rental and that was necessary. Rumor is they may work on the road again this summer (it has been a few years), but it will always be a dirt road since it is on the bioreserve. I hope I get to return here someday. If we do, I plan on staying here for a day or two before heading on to Punta Allen for a night to do a full-day boat tour to see the crocodiles and pink dolphins and such.

Luxury Private Residence w/ 7 pools & Jungle view

One of the nicest Airbnb’s I’ve been to. Serene, comfortable and relaxing. If you’re not familiar with Tulum, which I was not, the location is somewhat isolated, so unless you have a vehicle be sure to buy groceries before arriving because getting anywhere can get expensive with taxi rides to Tulum costing $50 round trip. Nonetheless it is a beautiful location and a wonderful accommodation.

La Bohème | Ultra-Luxury Condo

Tarik's place was great! The Airbnb looked just like the pictures and the complex was pristine. Tarik was very responsive and offered a load of local recommendations. Aldea Zama has a lot of great restaurants and bars that are walkable to the spot, but would recommend renting bikes to get to the beach. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Tulum.

El Cielo Fisherman's Lodge

This is an Airbnb within a fly fishing haven. The road in is an adventure (not for the faint of heart), only a few places take credit cards and certainly don’t come here if you want to be on the internet all the time. Patricia and the staff were responsive and most accommodating. If you are looking for a moderate off the grid experience in Mexico then this is the place for you. Unfortunately there is a lot of plastic trash on the beaches spoiling the otherwise beautiful Caribbean Sea.
