“What a perfect place to explore Portofino and the whole region from. Location is spot on (unless you’re not ok climbing 50/60 steps as apartment is a top floor attic w cracking views!). You walk out right into the main square and iconic harbour, surrounded by restaurants, gelateria and bars. Also the greeting, hosting and little touches are all v thoughtful and welcoming. Big reccomendation 👌🏼 p.s. definitely try Gemale (on waterfront for lunch), Tripoli (next door to apartment for dinner) and the Pizzeria up the road (full of locals lunch and dinner!)”
VIVIANA ALSO GUESTS YOU IN THE "VIVIANA UP HOUSE". Viviana's house is a lovely and independent studio apartment with a romantic mezzanine, which houses a cozy French double bed, kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, availability and use of the garden areas. It is on the first hill of Rapallo at about 130 meters above sea level but is only 1.5 km from the center of Rapallo and the sea and a few kilometers from Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and Cinque Terre.
“We loved our stay at Viviana’s casita. The apt. is very compact, a “little house.” It had most everything one would need to be comfortable. This would not be a place for someone with mobility issues. The bed is a loft bed with an amazing skylight above it where one can watch stars or lightning storms. There are numerous stairs to get up to the apt. Viviana met us in Rapallo and we followed her up a steep, winding, narrow road with two very sharp switch backs ending at the apt. This was a bit daunting to two senior, small town drivers. The road “got better” with practice driving it. A lot of the road was one lane with pullouts to squeeze by oncoming cars. It was a real adventure and took getting used to, to not be stressed. The view going up or down is gorgeous. Rapallo and that part of Italy are so worth spending time enjoying. We learned the ferry tour along the coast (to see the colorful houses) ends after Oct. because of bad weather. Plan accordingly. The website has numerous pictures from the casita. If you are adventurous this place is for you. Vivianna has a 2nd apt. now available that is huge in comparison and the view is to die for. Viviana and her husband are the best hosts! Mauricio carried our bags up to the apartment. THANK YOU!! Would love to return because of our hosts who were/are such wonderful people.”
Look at the pictures. The rest is a studio apartment. Chiavari and Zoagli at two steps. Walking from the top of Portofino or the hills above Zoagli, perhaps with Nordic walking sticks, also make you forget about taxes and public debt. In the studio there is a double sofa bed and a single bed
“A beautiful studio with an exceptional view of Portofino and Santa Margherita, the funicular (impressive) allows access to the sea. Very quiet out of season, we only hear the birds and the sound of the sea ... rise to Parking is a little sporty! Giancarlo's instructions are perfect for finding the apartment. The welcome of Enzo is very friendly, and considerate. We were able to understand each other in a mixture of English, French, Italian ..... The city of Chiavari 3 km offers all the amenities: station, free parking 5 minutes, and excellent ice cream. Two pizzerias face each other next to the free parking and offer a very good value for money. A good address and a very beautiful Ligurian coast.”
