The house is well appointed with everything except for Wi-Fi. A perfect excuse to unplug and relax. Easy, well maintained access road less than 2 miles from the highway. A great home base for many adventures!

The Historic Ranch House

We have intentionally tried to preserve as much of the ranch house as possible while still updating the house to today’s standards. The most notable piece of history is the Monarch cook stove in the kitchen, the doorways and doors that are not as tall as today’s standards, the original wood floor in the master bedroom and original moulding around some of the doors. The house is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath house with all the amenities from home. We hope you enjoy our little piece of ranch history!

We own 36 acres, including Round Hill, with amazing mountain views all around. We are backed up to National Forest and BLM land. We're located two miles south of Poncha Pass Summit. Only 15-20 minutes to downtown Salida and 30 minutes to Monarch Mountain Ski Area. We have a fire pit and propane grill outside the entryway. We offer discounts for weekly/longer stays.

Our criteria for the many Airbnbs we stay at each year is simply: Does the property have everything we need and nothing that we don't?" The Lil Red Cabin passed our criteria with flying colors. It was such a beautifully constructed use of space and amenities; nothing was excessive and the location, cleanliness, accessibility to all the parts of Salida we love, and Brad's prompt responses and proactive instructions made our stay effortless and enjoyable. We'll definitely be back to stay in the Lil Red Cabin!

Excellent place and location. So much to do around Salida. Ample space for our larger group. Was very clean and everything we needed was supplied. Would 100% stay there again if visiting the area.

This was a perfect spot for me, going through a series of meetings in the area. The home was well maintained and spotless. Everything a traveler might need was provided, and all appliances operated perfectly. The bed was super comfortable, the towels were big and plentiful, plenty of hot water, and small heaters to fend off the morning's chill. The kitchen, while not a full kitchen, did have several different ways to cook meals, and a complete supply of cooking. and eating utensils and dishes, including a drawer full of a wide collection of spices. I've done a fair amount of Airbnb traveling, and Emma had done a great job in providing everything needed for a relaxing and pleasant stay, all of high quality. The neighborhood is mountain pleasant, lots of proud homeowners, all surrounded by snowy peaks and Colorado's unique beauty.

We made very last minute reservations and we couldn’t have lucked into a better place to celebrate the holidays! Renae communicated with me and went above and beyond. We were pleasantly surprised to find the space decorated for the holidays with a Christmas tree and stockings hung by the fire. We spent our time learning to snowboard at Monarch Mountain and ate each night in Salida. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend!

Cute little place, close to adventure. A little closer to the highway than we thought so have to keep the dogs on the leash but it was clean, cozy, and the river access was wonderful. Overall great stay!

We enjoyed our weekend here on a girls trip to mt Princeton. Only a 25 min drive from the hot springs, and really close to restaurants and downtown Salida. Hosts were quick to respond when we had a question, and the place was beautiful. Comfortable beds and more amenities than expected. They even had tampons and pads in the bathrooms! They truly thought of it all. This house is great.
