We are a Portuguese family that knows all the islands of the Azores, and completed in August 2018 this retreat, to get away from our busy lives in London. Until the day comes that we can enjoy it full time, we have decided to share the amazing space we have created with others that love the nature, mountain and sea that is always surrounding us. The house is within Prainha, the most beautiful parish of Pico Island, and within close proximity to the beach, restaurants, grocery store and bakery.

Janela do Porto - the Atlantic Ocean inside the house

A window facing the sea and back on the slopes of the north coast of Pico Island. Sitting in the armchair, I set my gaze on São Jorge lying in the distance. At the foot of the house, the sea ripples like a purring cat. I close my eyes and smile, I found paradise... Old fishing cellar completely rebuilt in the first row facing the sea. The view is incredible, starting with the morning sunrise. It accommodates up to 6 people (4 people in beds and 2 on a sofa bed). Space with 4 environments.

Grandfather Francisco's House

Once a traditional wine cellar, built by Francisco Paulo in 1980, this villa served for many years as a production site and warehouse for the Paulo family's wine. The wine cellar has been remodeled and expanded, but it maintains the traditional elevations and the decoration and details of the times when it was used as a wine cellar. The "Casa Guardiao" is situated at the Porto Calhau. The big appartement with 2 bedrooms is situated on the first floor of the "Fisherman's Retreat Pico." This is the best spot to watch the sunset and start your walks. It's only a 10 minutes drive from Madalena and about 20 miutes drive from the airport.
