Vacation rentals with a kayak in Payne Springs

This was a great place for a weekend with friends and family to hang out by the water. There was a decent amount of cleaning we had to do at check out that was required despite the cleaning fee. Other than that, the place was beautiful and Evan was very responsive and accommodating which we really appreciated. I would absolutely stay again!

I have to say, it was absolutely beautiful! The place was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a blast fishing right off the dock, and the peaceful surroundings were perfect for relaxing and unwinding. If you're looking for a serene getaway with great fishing opportunities, I highly recommend this lake house! Can't wait to go back!

This is the perfect place to stay if you have little ones. Chrissy has it set up to keep them entertained for hours. We spent most of our time in the backyard swinging, playing ball, eating smores at the fire pit. The kayaks and paddle board were great fun and there’s plenty of life preservers to keep them safe. We listened to the birds each morning, watched the cardinals play, saw a cormorant dive for his dinner and even saw a fox and her kits. An enclosed yard with locked gate ensures safety and peace of mind. The foosball table and closet full of toys and books keeps the fun going inside as well. Plenty to do nearby, bluebonnet season is a great time to go! Chrissy was very friendly, responsive and great to rent from. We’ll be back!

Had such a great weekend! It was a bit rainy and chilly over the weekend but even then we had an amazing time in the jacuzzi! I definitely recommend this location, great space, amazing area and I can only imagine it during the summer! Thanks again for such a great stay!

Pictures do not do justice on how nice the home was! Tons of room for a large group, large kitchen, comfortable beds, and weather permitting a beautiful sunset from the dock. This home has definitely been added to our favorites list and we will for sure be returning!!

Wonderful home, welcoming host! We really enjoyed our stay at Kathryn’s lake house. We arrived Wednesday and left Sunday- we wish we would’ve stayed one more day. The house was incredibly clean. Brand new pots and pans. Clean bedding, floors- the place was spotless. The bathrooms are clean and modern- great water pressure. Kathryn called us prior to our arrival to answer any questions. She was welcoming and kind. I also texted her while we were there, and she responded immediately. The house has a beautiful dock- it was a nice place to fish. The backyard is huge- we brought our dog. We had tons of room to play. We all slept good. The beds are comfy. We enjoyed the screened in porch when it got windy. My son also loved the foosball table. The only negative was the neighbor had a crew working on his dock. We didn’t love the noise from their music/construction, but it was still a great trip. We would definitely stay here again. It was at the top end of our budget but 100% worth it!

5-Star Stay at the Perfect Fishing Getaway! We had an amazing stay at this cozy two-room cottage on Lake Athens! It was the perfect spot for a fishing getaway. The dock was ideal for tying up our boat, making it easy to head out early in the morning or relax on the water in the afternoon. The sunsets over the lake were absolutely stunning—something we looked forward to every night as we sat on the porch and reminisced. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking up fresh meals, and the outdoor smoker was a fantastic bonus for preparing some delicious meals. The friendly neighbors even shared a few great fishing spots with us, which made our trip even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a peaceful lakeside retreat with great fishing, beautiful views, and all the comforts of home, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!

This place was WONDERFUL! My boyfriend and I came for the weekend and we just loved everything about the stay. We fished, watched the sunset, we did our intimate gender reveal by the lake and also just walked around and enjoyed the nature. We are most definitely going to come back asap. We had a fantastic stay! The home was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The covered porch was perfect for relaxing, and the window and lake views were absolutely stunning. We especially loved the amenities provided, particularly the kayaks, which added so much fun to our trip. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were spacious and inviting. This was our second time staying at Courtney's place and we absolutely loved our stay. The home is spotless, well-appointed, and the beds are beyond comfy! We've stayed at many short-term rentals and this one is so peaceful and relaxing. The sunroom with wall-to-wall windows offers a beautiful place to feel like you're outside in nature, but without the Texas bugs. :) And the sunset views from the top floor of the dock are stunning! Courtney is a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful. We look forward to staying here again!

This was a very nice place, very clean and had anything you could want or need. The host was very nice and I would definitly come back to this place and stay again. It was very quiet at night and felt very safe. The decor was excellent, very cute.

We had a wonderful stay at the bluegill lake cabins! The location was perfect, with easy access to the lakes. The property was impeccably clean, and the host, Kevin, was incredibly helpful and responsive. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the spacious balcony where we could relax and enjoy the views. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property to other travelers!"

We had a great stay, the lake house was clean and the host even bought some toys to keep my kids entertained while we were there. Everything was well kept.

Went to Cici’s cabin for some fishing and was not disappointed. Ended up catching a 6.7 pound bass right off the dock and numerous large bluegills. I also enjoyed canoeing around the main pond and catching some smaller bass. The cabin was clean and inviting with everything I needed and Kevin made me feel right at home. I would definitely recommend Cici’ cabin and hope to return one day.
