A cosy self-contained stone cottage in a peaceful green valley below Cefn Llwydallt. We're 1000 feet up and the views are brilliant! There's a remote, "get away from it all" feeling, but we're just 3 miles from the main A470 road, and a short drive from Hay-on-Wye, Brecon, Builth Wells, and the Brecon Beacons. Perfect for a self-catering stay, downstairs is open plan, with spacious kitchen, dining and lounge areas, and a toilet; upstairs has two bedrooms, and a bathroom with shower and toilet.

Lower Green has been a working cattle farm for three generations. Glyn was born here, the youngest of seven siblings. We opened Orchard View 14th century cottage to guests because we wanted people to experience what we experience every day, the peace, the dark skies, the particular stillness .The spring water still runs cold and clean. The cottage is located just out of the centre of Hay opposite the beautiful St Mary's Church. It is slightly quieter here than in the heart of the town but is still only a 5 minute walk into the centre. It is very easy to access the river walks, simply taking the path to the right of the church. The cottage is full of character with wooden beams, a wood-burning stove, the original fireplace in the bedroom, wooden flooring throughout the downstairs, and a beautiful south-facing garden.
