Family-friendly vacation rentals in Oroville

My family and I spend a weekend at Julie’s cute Chico house while in town visiting family and running the annual Almond Bowl. This was the perfect spot for our trip as it was so close to everything we did, and it was nice to have the backyard space for the kids. We had everything we needed and were so comfortable that we kept joking we now want to move to Chico. Julie was a wonderful host and was always responsive to our questions. We will definitely stay here again next year if we can!

What a paradise this place is! So peaceful and idyllic. The sauna and hot tub area was the highlight of the stay. And we loved getting body treatments from Shari and Mia!

Catherine stands out as a host who feels a special connection to the home she shares on Airbnb. She clearly loves the place and is invested in the best possible outcome for everyone. It's more than just a business to her. We did some cooking and baking in the kitchen and felt wowed by how well stocked the kitchen is. It had everything we needed and then some. The home maintains the charm of its history, which we loved. Downtown Grass Valley is so, so nice, and it's just a short walk from A Victorian Rose. I especially appreciated Catherine's recommendation of Caroline's Cafe. That's our kind of cafe, top to bottom. We visited at least four times! Grass Valley itself is such a lovely destination. Five stars all around!

Gil's Grass Valley home is PERFECTION. Truly a character home with magic in every corner: a creek in the backyard, badminton, ping pong, hot tub, huge projector for TV, lot's of comfortable bedrooms, and a rope swing in the kitchen! We had a great month staying at this home and enjoyed the quick walk into Grass Valley, and amazing proximity to Nevada City. It comfortably accommodates guests and feels spacious. Thank you so much Gil and Family for a great month :) We can't wait to visit again!

This is a lovely home in a sweet neighborhood. It has been recently renovated & has a nice open feel. We loved being close to downtown. It is close to a mile to the heart of downtown & we found the walk peaceful & relaxing. It is also close to Bidwell Park. We rode our bikes to the park & it was easy to navigate, even for elementary age kids. The kitchen is well equipped & has lots of counter space. We have a baby & 3 year old in our family, so we appreciated the door separating the bedrooms from the living & dining room. We played games after the kids went to bed & littles stayed asleep. We would definitely love to return.

Sheryl is a really nice person and a great host. My family really enjoyed their time at her beautiful house.

My time with Susan was exactly what I needed. After leaving a stressful job that took a toll on my mental health, I needed to get away from the city. Being at the farm with my dog in tow was exactly what my soul needed. Thank you to Susan for the wonderful hospitality!

This was our 3rd stay at this property. It works very well for our family to get together, cook, eat, play bocce, and walk. Mardie's team was responsive, flexible, and helpful. The house offers many amenities, and the property is beautiful.

Cute place that fit our needs well! Easy walking distance to downtown. Kitchen fully equipped, lots of towels, etc. Will definitely stay again when we visit friends in the area!

This sweet midscentury with a deck overlooking a valley and mountains in the distance was a restful, quiet space. We saw and heard bears, bats, bobcats, foxes, circling raptors, quail, squirrel, hummingbird, bluejay, raven, crow, and other songbirds. The mated pair of woodpeckers in the tree just off the deck was a delight to listen to throughout the day with their gentle calls to each other. The bed was super comfy and the quiet was deep at night. The living room was cozy, and the deck a great place to hang in the early mornings or early evenings during the cooler parts of the summer days. The sunsets were amazing every single night. Firey golds, reds, purples, pinks. It was one of our favorite things about this sanctuary. I already miss the cat Oslo, who was a delight to take care of, along with the 4 chickens. Fresh eggs are so much better than storebought! Lauren was incredibly kind and generous with making sure we felt at home. Thank you, Lauren.

Charming, cozy and clean place to rest your head. Clean and super soft bedding and I slept beautifully on one of the most comfortable airbnb beds I’ve had. Cute decor - I absolutely love the above bed wall decor piece. Room stayed cool, nice perfect size patio with plenty of sitting room. Felt safe and very private. Showers are important to me and theirs was CLEAN and the water pressure, divine. Nicely stocked with coffee (decaf too!), and teas. The cleanliness did it for me. Thank you Sarah and Kirk.

Awesome property for enjoying the Valley. Fun little oasis. Host was great and helped us with everything we needed. Lots of places for people to sleep.

This was one of the most coziest of places we’ve ever stayed at. Felt right at home and it included everything we needed. Our dog was also very happy here. I felt like the host, Helen, made small touches to it that made us feel so welcomed such as a welcome note on the door and provided water. Great location for visiting the river too.

Stayed here with a group of friends - lots of beds so we each got our own, which is rare. The house was well stocked - kitchen, towels, etc. We enjoyed using the indoor/grotto hot tub. Cute shops & restaurants in the area (15-20ish mins). Thanks for a great stay!

This was probably one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had! The place was PERFECT for a group, and it had everything you could possibly need (extra towels, tons of space for hanging, lots of games/activities). I really appreciated Sara Rose's prompt, helpful responses to my questions. The vintage charm was such a treat. I can't recommend this home enough!

I rented Don and Kathy’s home to throw a baby shower. Keep in mind there is an event fee if you’ll have guests joining for the day, but it was very reasonable, especially for everything this house and our hosts gave us in return. There was so much open green space, greenhouse was more spacious and beautiful than what it looked like in the photos, and you can tell they put a lot of love and care into this family home. It was very clean and guest ready, but you can tell people actually live here and IMO it felt made it feel warmer compared to company owned Airbnbs that feel sterile. When they say their kitchen is fully stocked, they mean FULLY stocked. Don and Kathy are excellent hosts as well - they were so responsive and responded personally to all our messages and very quickly. When you get close the roads are not lit, so for some it might be a little scary to navigate in the dark. Just drive slow and once you get to where GPS drops you off it’s easy to see the house from the road!

Nikole and Eric are excellent Airbnb hosts. They have earned their well deserved Super Host status. From placing our reservation to the final check out, Nikole and Eric provided great communication and timely responses to our questions. We are active Airbnb participants and have a list of things we hope for when selecting a space and experience. Nikole and Eric’s place not only provided, but surpassed what we were looking for. Their property layout, decor style, quality materials and cleanliness of the house made this an easy 5 star experience. We highly recommend this place. We hope we will have an opportunity to stay here again.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Stephanie’s house. She was incredibly friendly and proactive ensuring that our stay was smooth. The house was comfortable and setup so well including a clean pool, equipped kitchen, beach towels and the list goes on.

This was a peak experience staying at this beautiful historic home and expansive property. Kathleen couldn’t have been more helpful and warm before and during our magical stay. There is so much to do on the property that you won’t want to leave. The heated pool was awesome even in Feb and we played with all the games in the garage on the courts too. We picked fresh citrus from the orchard and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were 15 guests who stayed overnight and everyone had a bed, but there is much more room for additional guests beyond what we had. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the beds so comfortable. She and her team have really thought of everything! We will not hesitate to go back for another family gathering soon!

Kay and Gary were very pleasant and accommodating. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again!!

The space was beautiful and very clean and Jeanne was very responsive. There’s also a nice walking path nearby if you have dogs. Highly recommend.
