Vacation rentals with a kayak in Orange County

10/10, best rental! The house felt like a hotel - it was immaculately clean with beautiful decor and in an ideal location. They put a lot of thought into it, there were so many little things we weren't expecting from an Airbnb that made this one top notch. We appreciated the fluffy clean towels and toiletries they provided. They had a whole section of baby items stored neatly in the garage and we used the baby monitor to keep an eye on the kiddos during the night. We really enjoyed the kayaks with life jackets in adult and kid sizes. They even thought to provide things like waterproof cell phone cases to take on the kayaks! They also had a small cooler, tons of beach chairs and lawn games. The location of the house is great, there's a little beach around the corner and 1 min drive into a part of town with some nice restaurants. We took a recommendation from the house's Insta-page and went on an easy hike on the boardwalk section of the Appalachian trail! It was a great time!

We spent our family Christmas at Nancy's house and enjoyed a bit of Manhattan too. It was perfect. The house is in a quiet location with a wonderful view. I highly recommend it.

WOW!! We cannot say enough amazing things about our stay. We stayed for the holidays and the snow surrounding the lake was the most beautiful surrounding imaginable. It was so peaceful and we watched both sunrises and sunsets there. Plus there were tons of beautiful swans to appreciate! The house was extremely pristine, decorated beautifully for the holidays, and felt like home. This was such a special stay and our host was so accommodating! We will absolutely be back.

Everything was perfect ! My family and I had a great time. Looking forward to staying here again in the summer.

From booking through check out, Maureen was pleasant, communicated promptly and clearly, and had the house perfectly dialed in to accommodate our family. The house is situated on a large, beautiful lakefront lot with spectacular views, and outfitted for families and friends to have an amazingly fun experience, regardless of weather or time of year. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, or a lively time with friends, this place will not disappoint!

We had the perfect stay for our Thanksgiving. Lots of toys for the kiddo, backyard for the dogs to run around, and a well-stocked kitchen for all our cooking needs (utensils, platters, etc). Sadly we didn’t get to use the play set or the fire pit due to the weather, but we hope to come back when weather is slightly warmer!

Our stay was lovely and the cottage on the lake was everything we needed to get out of the city and relax. We stayed during a bit of a snowstorm and our host Kevin was overly helpful making sure we could get in and out safely. He salted and shoveled the walkway and our parking spot for us. Kevin was one of the most attentive and kind hosts we've had and we would gladly stay again!

Beautiful space! Private and tranquil neighborhood with wonderful lake views. The house was extremely clean and cozy with comfortable beds, an extremely stocked kitchen, and toiletries in the shower. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our relaxing stay at this warm and cozy lake house. Mike provided a few non-essentials that showed how hospitable he is and that he wanted us to really feel at home. Definitely loved having a few Duraflame logs to use in the fireplace on those cold nights. We asked about a few items we needed and boom! They were on the front porch. He's a great host, and I hope we have reason to come back and use his place in the summer time. That hammock by the lake was calling my name.

We had a great stay at this cabin! The location was on a dead end street which made it very quiet, serene, and private. The lake was visible from the back porch of the house & a very close walk away. The house comes with access to a semi-private beach/dock area which is the perfect place to spend the day in the summer. The house was decorated beautifully while being extremely comfortable at the same time. Our host, Kamil, was very responsive. If I had a question or concern he was extremely helpful within a short period of time. All around, really enjoyed this stay & would definitely return when in this area again!

We enjoyed our long weekend at the lake house. Great views of the lake and the home is well equipped with lots of board games, TVs, a projector, great sound system, dart board, foosball and more. We were in the dead of the winter and can imagine how its even more fun in the summer when you can grab the boats and head out onto the lake.

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how clean, modern, and well-equipped it was. The hot tub was the perfect addition, providing a relaxing and private retreat. Steven was the most gracious and thoughtful host we could have asked for. He truly went above and beyond to make our Valentine’s Day weekend special, greeting us with chocolate-covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. His personal touch made the experience unforgettable. We can’t wait to return, and we’re already looking forward to experiencing it in the summer!

Anna was very responsive throughout our stay with any and all questions. The grounds are stunning - fully surrounded by trees and only a few steps right down to the lake. Our kids loved the row boat and all the games and movies available.

This place needs a 6-star rating. The location is serene and absolutely stunning; the cabin faces a small island. It’s well-heated, had everything we need, and is perfect for a 4-person cabin retreat. Cynthia and Warren greeted us on our arrival, and they were super kind and hospitable. Thank you Cindy, we created some magical memories at your place.

From the minute we booked our stay, Kate and Brad were responsive, gracious hosts. We work a ton in Brooklyn and don’t get out as often as we’d like, so the combination of this beautiful, serene property and Kate’s welcoming touches exceeded our expectations. We were at ease in the home, which was very well-laid out and extremely cozy, and took the time to enjoy the property and indulge in some sauna and hot tub time after hiking. Everything was pristine and easy to use-any questions we had were answered promptly and with so much friendliness that it never felt like we were bothering them. The care that was taken to ensure we enjoyed ourselves was certainly more than anything we’ve experienced at another rental, and we feel so well cared for and so rejuvenated that we’re already talking about booking another stay. Indian lake is holy ground. I’m a level 5 empath and energy worker. Ancient wisdom energy beings thrive wi th tallman state park behind the house and the fauna and healthy ecosystem speak for itself. In these three day visit we saw 1) 2 Pilated woodpecker’s 2) a family of 6 bears replete with a cub hugging a tree 3) a great grey heron with 7 foot wing span 4) a gaggle of giant crows and 5) a lone HUGE black bear > 600 lbs. if nature is your cup of tea Lionel’s your man. Thanks again we will be back!

We had an amazing stay at this lakefront log cabin on Greenwood Lake. The house is huge yet is still extremely warm and cozy with that classic wooden cabin charm. The heating and cooling system are superb and the house includes heated floors in all bathrooms! The views of the lake are absolutely beautiful, rain or shine, of which we experienced both during our stay. It is the perfect spot to unwind and just enjoy the quiet. The house is furnished for indoor all day and outdoor in and out days! The log cabin was truly spotless and had everything we needed, from kitchen amenities to comfy beds. Rameez and Sadaf were incredibly kind and easy to communicate with, which made the whole experience even better. A peaceful, charming, much needed getaway only an hour and a half out from the business of NYC. We will be coming back!
