Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Old Town, San Diego

This was our second stay at Aaron’s Airbnb, and once again, it was perfect for our family — myself, my parents, and my two young kids. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The kitchen was fully stocked, which made cooking meals easy, and the beds were super comfortable. Heating and cooling worked great, and everything was spotless when we arrived. We especially loved the private patio — such a great space to relax. The location is incredible: close to shops and restaurants, yet tucked away in a quiet area, and just one block from the beach. There were so many thoughtful extras, too, like beach chairs, toys, and board games that made the stay even more enjoyable. Aaron is a fantastic host — friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this Airbnb and can’t wait to come back!

I stayed at this Airbnb with my mom and our 3 dogs. It was very cozy and at such a great location. The front porch/grassy area was our (and the dogs) favorite spot to relax. A very quick walk to dog beach and some yummy breakfast spots (highly recommend Benedict’s). Overall very relaxing stay and we would return. Only downside was the neighbors fire alarm kept going off early in the morning but that’s out of everyone’s control; the bed is also very tall, may need a step stool if you’re short lol.

5/5 stars. Enjoyed my stay here! It was easy to check in, the location was clean and quiet, and I enjoyed the jacuzzi. Also had a garage for you to park your vehicle. It is just a few blocks away from downtown ocean beach. This makes it walking distance from many restaurants and bars. In conclusion, good price, good deal, and I would recommend to anyone who is interested in having a nice time.

We had a lovely stay at Chris’ Airbnb. It’s a lovely, very clean and well furnished home. It is small but worked perfectly for the 2 of us. It’s located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Chris is a very responsive host and has thought of almost all the amenities a guest might need. We will certainly stay here again

We came for a short trip. Here are our pros: great parking space for your car which is gated and can fit up to two, there is a lot of space and 5+ people can sleep in here comfortably. If you need a safe and private place to stay with family then this is a great affordable options. Our cons: the electrical outlets did not seem to work on the bottom floor in the bedroom, we had an issue with the shower not functioning which was not helpful when everyone needed to shower, the upstairs gets very hot even with the fans we had to sleep with the windows open because of the heat. These are things that are fixable, overall it is a good place to stay at.

We had a fantastic stay here. The location was excellent—so close to the beach, coffee shops, and restaurants in both mission beach and pacific beach. We had 6 adults staying and didn’t feel cramped. We especially enjoyed sitting on the patio. We had no problem parking a Honda civic and Kia sportage side by side. The host was very responsive. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great weekend stay at Edwin's place! The cottage is simple but has everything you need. It's a close walk to several cafes, restaurants, and the beach, and not more than a 15 minute walk from the main drag of OB. We didn't have a car while we were in town, and had no issues getting around. The space was very clean, probably the cleanest Airbnb I've stayed in - really appreciated that. Would love to stay here again!

My family and I had a delightful time at Brian and Carla’s home. All amenities available with a spectacular pool and hot tub in the back combined with beautiful palm trees and birds of paradise which gives the feel of being in your own private oasis. Centrally located and in a nice neighborhood. Good communication at all times. Highly recommended. Brian and Carla, thank you for a memorable time.

Wonderful location, 12-14 minutes or less to everything we wanted to do. Expansive patio and pool area. Bedroom layout worked okay for our group of five - three adults and two kids. Property managers were very responsive when we contacted them. The house was spotless. We were there for two weeks and never ran out of things to do in San Diego and environs. We’ll be back.

House was clean and comfortable. Check in and check out went smoothly. Communication was great with the owner. Perfectly accommodated our family and location was great. We loved that Better Buzz was within walking distance for a coffee! Grocery store and restaurants also close by. Would highly recommend this rental!

What a lovely home! We spent 5 days here with our family of 5 and it was absolutely wonderful. The home is spacious and open, very clean, and beautifully decorated. We loved the pool and watching airplanes take off and land in the distance. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. Would stay here again!

Our family had the best stay at Bruce’s place. It’s a beautifully maintained property and so relaxing yet many activities to do! The kids loved the pool and ping pong tables, the fire pit for s’mores, pool, but especially the “outdoor living room” with a tv to watch movies or listen to music. We can’t wait to return! It’s a great property that is perfect for large groups- from families, bachelors or bachelorette parties, girls get away, etc.

Exactly as advertised and in a great location not far from the beach and boardwalk. The bikes were great for getting around as well. The bed was also very comfortable. Easily accessed and had no issues at all!

I love that the kitchen was very well stocked! If you like to cook it’s great! The backyard was beautiful my kids loved the resort feel. We visited for a graduation for my nephew from the Marines boot camp. The location was about 20-25 minutes from base which was so easy because you’re close to the freeway! The house was perfect for our stay! The box truck in the front yard was a throw off when we arrived but once inside you didn’t notice it was there. The house is very cute and full of everything you need to have a great stay! Thank you Brian for being a great host!

We really enjoyed our stay!! The place is super walkable to great restaurants and shops in Ocean Beach as well as to the beach itself! We had our dog with us and loved how dog friendly and clean everything was! You can tell a lot of care goes into the place, including the matching full sets kitchenware, condiments/seasonings, full bag of coffee, clean dog couch covers, etc. It makes you feel appreciated and cared for as a guest.

I stayed in Gabe's Airbnb with 5 of my cousins for a week! The location was great - Trader Joe's and a cute bagel/coffee shop was literally a 5 minute walk from the house. We made multiple trips throughout the week. Gabe was super helpful and responsive when anything happened. We did get locked out somehow one time, and he was able to get us in and resolve the issue within 10 minutes through his Ring camera. The fridge and kitchen were stocked well and we were able to use the stove without problems. The one thing I will mention is the living room area is a bit smaller than I expected. It was difficult for all 6 of us to sit at the same time to watch a movie or play games, but we all had more than enough space for sleeping, and to store our belongings. The hot tub was definitely a huge highlight of the place! It is shared with the neighbors but they were never using it while we were there!

Here's a possible Airbnb review: This hidden villa was a fantastic find! The location was perfect – close to all the best that San Diego has to offer. We were able to easily explore the city's attractions and restaurants. The enclosed yard was private and relaxing. And the swing? It was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of adventures. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in SD!"

We have stayed with Lisa multiple times in the past year. It’s like a home away from home. Very easy to get to and convenient to visiting friends and family. Very quiet neighborhood and cozy place inside.

This was a great place to stay. The backyard was a great hang out spot and the location is prime. Also the bedding and pillows felt really nice and expensive!

We had an amazing little staycation over the weekend at the Violet Oasis. Extremely clean, the bed was so comfy we never wanted to leave, both parking locations easy to find and Elizabeth and Paola were super responsive. Rather than feel like we were staying at an Airbnb it felt like staying over at a friend’s place. Their passion responding to their guests, making them feel at home and providing information on what to do in the area really shows in this listing. We will be back!
