water view property "The Little House"

MadisonRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Great stay at “the little house”. Perfect size for my wife, our dog and I. House was set up to be very pet friendly but also very clean which I appreciated. Fire pit and grill set up was great for hanging out and cooking plus it was all ready to go for us. Cute welcome gift on the counter when we arrived. Wendy was very quick to respond with the few questions we had and left us alone the rest of the time to enjoy our stay. We enjoyed throwing it back with the DVDs & sitting on the porch just enjoying the view, day or night. Pretty quiet for being in between bridges. Area was beautiful and mostly private. I will note the house across the street did let their dogs out off leash, they bark a bit and tend to come in the yard to pee.. so if your dog is anxious or reactive, be aware of that. Overall we had no problems and our dog was more than comfortable as soon as we arrived. We visit maine when we can and love the surrounding areas of Kittery, York, Ogunquit etc. Would likely stay again.

Salty Mermaid Cottage/Boat House

My family and I loved Skye's place. It was very private with a great view of the river and a nice sunset. Lots of different sea birds including a family of geese that had just hatched. Skye's place was very well equipped with all the little conveniences we would normally supply ourselves from coffee and creamer to ice in the freezer. The location was perfect for us, because the focus of our trip was shopping. Less than ten minutes from the outlet stores We would definitely stay there again when in the area.

Coastal Maine & 10 Min to Portsmouth+ Hot Tub Too!

ChristineRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Really nice converted basement to studio. Large bedroom/living room combo. Through a door was a modern bathroom with stand up shower and a kitchenette. Well decorated and stocked. She is a terrific host. I never saw her but she pre answered any questions I may have had. Climate control was very efficient and hot tub was spotless and easy to access. I will add it is not a private atmosphere for the hot tub as it is open with no privacy screens. My only flex with this rental is that the bathroom and kitchenette area does not feel private due the lack of a wall and instead the use of a privacy screen, to block off the rest of the basement and being able to see her basement stairs (I don’t think she uses them while hosting) but for me the fact that someone could walk down from the main house and be there is uncomfortable. This part is not to complain but inform. It is costly to rent and I always like to know exactly what I’m walking into.

New Luxury Home w/HOT TUB & Fire Pit

NicoleRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Our family enjoyed our stay at Gregory's home. Home and amenities were as pictured and described. Space was tidy, smartly appointed, and clean. Home was close to Old Orchard Beach and we were able to walk there multiple times during our stay. The hot tub was much appreciated and we were able to relax after days filled with sight seeing and shopping. Gregory was communicative and had a response rate of approximately 12 hours. I would recommend bringing reusable bags for any shopping as it seems Maine has discontinued complimentary bags at stores.

Hoyts Ahoy

JulietteRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had an amazing stay in Ogunquit at this property. The location really was the highlight of it. A very short walk to town/beach and the surroundings are beautiful. The only recommendation (personal preference) is the bedding could be updated, it looks a little dated in the rooms and the pillows could do with upgrading. The fire alarms in the rooms are very sensitive and kept being set off, however the host was is incredibly responsive and helped us resolve the issue and is working to get them fixed.

Boho Farmhouse by the Fields

StephaneRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We have just spent 5 days in the Boho farm house and we wish we could already go back. The house is very clean and nicely decorated, it is very cosy. The three bedrooms are great. The house is well equipped from the kitchen to the bathroom amenities. The location is great: it feels very isolated and private, but in reality you're 15mins away from the biggest Costal Maine attractions. 10/10 would recommend and come again!

Newly Renovated | Farm Stay | Near Portsmouth!

RebeccaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We loved staying at the Brown House at Emery Farm. Everything was amazing and I will definitely be back! We loved the decor, the beds were comfortable and so much space to spread out and enjoy our time there. We sat in the front yard in the sun, it was so peaceful. We went to dinner in Portsmouth one night and then grilled a delicious dinner and stayed in the second night. We loved walking down for coffee in the morning and also walked over to the waterfront in the afternoon. Highly recommended this home for anyone staying on the area😁

Your guide to Ogunquit

Welcome to Ogunquit

Ogunquit began as a fishing town in the 1680s, evolved into an artists’ colony in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and has since secured its role as a summer destination for travelers, especially the artistically inclined and the LGBTQ+ community. Ogunquit revolves around two poles: the beach and the art world, the latter of which includes a noted art museum and many galleries. As such, the town offers a near-perfect balance between the natural and the cultural, the kind of place where you fear that there’s not much to do when you first arrive, then realize that you didn’t leave enough time when you near departure. Days are easy to schedule on the fly — head to the beach or set off on a long walk when the weather calls; explore the museum and many boutiques and restaurants when the weather takes an unfortunate turn.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Ogunquit

In Maine, “summer” is a verb, and in Ogunquit it’s clear why. July and August offer perfect weather to wander the village with an ice cream cone in hand. It’s also the time of year for the occasional festival, concert, or special event, which can result in crowds and congestion. September is a good option for those looking for warmish weather without the crowds. Spring is always iffy — some days are lovely, and others are damp and raked with chilly winds. Winter can be bitingly cold and wind-blasted, but it’s also when the town celebrates Christmas by the Sea, a weekend of choir concerts, hayrides, tree lightings, and a holiday parade.

Top things to do in Ogunquit

Ogunquit Museum of Art

The Ogunquit Museum offers big city sophistication in a small-town setting. Founded by artist Harry Strater in 1953, it builds upon the village’s history as an esteemed art colony dating from the late 19th century. The museum has some 3,000 works in its permanent collection, and its seasonal shows often feature artists linked to Maine.

Marginal Way & Perkins Cove

The Marginal Way is a footpath that follows a dramatic stretch of coast for about a mile. If you start at the north and don’t dawdle, you’ll arrive at gem-like Perkins Cove in about 20 minutes. The route passes rocky tide pools and pocket beaches, and rises atop low, craggy bluffs. Perkins Cove is a photo-worthy cluster of small buildings huddled around a protected inlet, with art galleries and T-shirt shops having long ago replaced the fishing shacks.

Footbridge Beach

Footbridge Beach is about a mile north of town at the end of Ocean Street, connected via a plank bridge over the Ogunquit River. The beach has restrooms and a lifeguard but little else, and tends to be a quieter alternative than the adjacent seven-mile-long Wells Beach.
