Cottage vacation rentals in Ocean Beach

This was the perfect oasis for my family during an extended work trip. In the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, it was a quiet place to recharge. Due to the space being clutter free, we were able to quickly toddler proof the whole house, making it safe for her to run around to her hearts content. Jess was also extremely accommodating with both early and late checkouts to meet our families needs on this trip. It was a lovely experience!

From the moment we walked in, we knew we would have a great stay. The cottage is beautiful! If you love midcentury, you will be obsessed. So well done and such a wonderful layout. The jacuzzi was the perfect way to wrap up a long drive day. I wish we could have stayed longer because it was the most cozy. Also the recommendations for grocery stores were the most helpful.

Mara is very friendly and considerate. She provided everything my dog and I need during the full month of stay. The house rules are clear and fair, which elevates the whole experience and simplifies communication needs. The view is fantastic in the garden. You can enjoy a very nice sauna in the early morning while overlooking the valley and listening to birds chirping. The whole experience is a good combination of natural connection, self reflection, easy access to school and city, plus safe and friendly living environment provided by Mara. Will definitely want to be here longer.

We loved staying at the Dipsea Cottage. It’s a beautiful, calming, and comfortable space. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, restaurants, playground, and shops. We look forward to coming back here again!

I really enjoyed Claudia's space - private, quiet and sweet neighborhood. Large room - and bathroom, comfy bed! Easy check in, and parking not too far away - worth it to be in such a good, walkable place. :) Would definitely stay again!

Host was nice and communicated quickly and graciously. The house was very nice and all that we needed. It was hard to find at night - we did not realize it was tucked behind another house. Parking instructions said pull down the driveway and park on the right; we thought that meant the right side of the driveway but it actually meant the right spot on the left of the driveway. We cleared this up and it wasn't a problem. There was a broken soap dispenser but I'm guessing host will fix it. Bathroom fan was noisy and overall the neighborhood had some rough surroundings such as trash and tent camps on streets. We were very pleased overall with the host and the place.

We loved our stay at the Bluebird Cottage. The cottage is beautifully maintained and very clean. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful art and collected pieces in each room. Every window had a different view of the trees and foliage surrounding us, creating a serene and private setting. Minie was an amazing host. We received clear instructions, local guides, and amenities that made us feel right at home. Tips for future travelers: -The tandem driveway has a steep rise in the middle, with the potential to scrape the bottom of the car when parking. We parked just below the bump and that was fine. -For cold weather, we found the wall unit by the front door didn’t heat the room much. The wall heaters worked great. For the bedroom wall heater to work the light switch closest to the bedroom closet needs to be turned on.

Another lovely stay at Sabine’s unit. I love the kitchen and being able to resume my routines in that space. Likewise, for sleeping. I sleep well there. It is very quiet at night. The air is fresh. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. It is a family neighborhood with children everywhere! Very safe! I sleep with windows open every night. It is very restful and very quiet. There is no trouble and the community is friendly.

Great central location with lots of places to walk to. I grew up in Castro Valley but haven’t been back in many years. We stayed with our twin 5 year olds and there is a play place that is nearby. Katherine was very communicative and flexible with check in. There was a housekeeping issue and Katherine addressed this issue immediately. We couldn’t get the shower head in the master bath to work correctly but the guest bath shower worked just fine with good pressure. We were disappointed it rained while we were there because we didn’t get to use the backyard. It looked very inviting with the BBQ and fire pit. The dining table was great as we had my senior parents over for dinner and everyone fit comfortably. The home is beautifully decorated

Absolutely charming! Steps from our favorite beach with a secluded cottage feel. From morning coffee on the porch swing, to the hot, outdoor, post-surf shower, to the vintage records and wood-burning stove, we wouldn’t change a thing!

My in-laws stayed in this efficient Airbnb, not too far from our home in Oakland. It is walking distance to Safeway and a few shops and restaurants. It is without frills, but a great price for the neighborhood!

Being very close to the beach and walking distance to the town center makes this spot so wonderful. We love it here and plan to be back soon! Thanks 🪻

We loved staying at Sean and Jen’s cottage! It was located in a parklike setting with beautiful tress surrounding the property which made it very peaceful. We really appreciated the recommendations for local restaurants which were found in a notebook upon entry of the cottage. We would definitely stay here again! This is a great place to stay in the bay! This reminds me of how are bnb was before it became really corporate. Her space was really charming and there were a lot of extras like food and blankets.

It's absolutely magical space for a peaceful personal retreat. Just amazing surroundings with beautiful views from the house and the yard, park with century-old trees just a few minutes walk away and beautiful walking paths. Something that I really needed for a recovery after a long business trip.

En provided very helpful instructions to unlock and lock the gate. The cottage was private and a good size for two people. Having parking available in the driveway was appreciated!

It felt like Marcy and I spent time together, but we did not see each other during the length of the stay. Her correspondence via text was prompt and engaging. I was having challenges with the access on my phone and she rolled with things smoothly.

Very cute cottage in Atherton. Worked well for me and my colleague. We were able to park our car onsite. The area is very safe and quiet. You are within a few minutes from Stanford, downtown Palo Alto and Sandhill Road. David was very communicative, texting with specific directions and responding to questions throughout our stay. There were several bugs in the cottage (a few, random ants and a handful of spiders).
