Waterfront vacation rentals in North Island

This place is something special from the fantastic host to the wonderful relaxing environment they have created. Lots of special little touches that show how much they care for their guest and their comfort. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and look forward to returning. Sue & Steve

This is an absolutely charming apartment to stay in and we enjoyed it immensely. Lynne is the perfect host - warm and welcoming but also attentive to our needs. There was a selection of goodies when we arrived and she baked the most amazing fresh muffins for us the following morning. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated with an inspiring collection of furniture and framed photographs. There is also a bookcase with a discerning and eclectic collection of books if you’re interested in reading- which I was. The real highlight of the apartment is the view. There is wide, expansive view of Auckland’s harbour and you are not overlooked by any of the neighbouring houses. Sitting there on the super comfy couch, with a cup of tea while looking out on the water is simply bliss. Overall, this a marvellous place to stay and simply on a higher level to many other similar apartments. We highly recommend it and will certainly come back.

A lovely place! I had been experiencing some stress recently, so this was a great place to come to unwind. I thrashed it out on the nearby Mt Manaia- handy being in the area! Recommended. Plus shops etc not to far away by car. Comfy bed, clean, and just generally awesome. I should have read the place name properly/ used my common sense....couldn't go kayaking because of the tide (was low in the late afternoon and morning)- my fault for not figuring that out!! Just have to come back then 😉 Thanks guys, awesome place.

Absolutely loved our stay, fabulous view and the apartment had everything we needed. One tiny suggestion would be a couple of reading lights by the bed. We had a great time exploring the area over our 3 day stay. Thank you George and family

We absolutely loved our stay in the Pacifica room! The suite was beautifully kept, peaceful and surrounded by nature. We had everything we needed and more including the gorgeous spa overlooking the ocean. Dave was super helpful and responsive. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

What a relaxing and peaceful few days break at this beautiful accomodation. Waking up to the sounds of the waves, sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view we couldn’t have had a more enjoyable stay. You won’t find many places like this in the world and we look forward to coming back sometime soon.

Lynne was very easy to communicate with, nothing was a bother even when we changed the dates of our booking, clear instructions, property just like the pictures, would recommend.

That view! Amazing. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the view and go over to Tiritiri Matangi for the day. What an amazing place. Loads of space, everything we needed, and so many windows to enjoy the incredible view. Couldn't fault it. Mark was amazing. Highly recommend!

We had a great weekend at this house, the views were incredible and we loved sitting out on the deck. Lots of gorgeous spots nearby to visit. The house was reasonably well stocked and Alan was responsive to messages and sorting out any problems. Thanks for a great stay.

Absolutely loved our stay. Plenty of room, lovely home backed right on the beach. Didnt even mind that one day was horrible weather, was cosy to stay in and play with the board games. Cant wait to book again.

A few photographers stayed for a few nights. We had an amazing time enjoying this quiet and beautiful beach location. Highly recommended for a break from the big smoke. Thank you

Great place great location. The only thing is the entrance is a bit difficult to spot what makes it worse is that it’s at around the cornering where car going quite fast and at night it’s very dark! Overall we had a great time staying at the place! Kids enjoyed the ping pong 🏓 that’s the bonus

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful Airbnb right on the water’s edge. The location was absolutely stunning – peaceful, scenic, and so close to nature. Our host was super friendly and full of helpful local tips. We especially loved the walk to the nearby surf beach and grabbing a morning coffee at the local campground. A perfect spot to relax and explore!

Absolutely magical location and views! We loved everything about our stay. The location is incredible - just up a few steps from the beach but still incredibly private; stunning views all day long; gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces which were spotlessly clean and well organised and had everything we needed; the bed was super-comfortable; the spa was perfect; the indoor/outdoor shower was ingenious; the communication was prompt and friendly; and check-in and out couldn’t have been more simple. All in all, our experience was exceptional!

Amazing spot, overlooking the bay. Very private, tucked away from the road and other neighbours. The window seat was a hit, we sat and read as the tide comes and goes. Nice to have the warmth of a wood fire in the evenings also. Just a few minutes drive from Russell and the car ferry. fresh oysters at just at the bottom of the road was also a nice surprise.

We love the place, it was what it looks like on the photos. Just looking at the view outside the house is amazing and the house is spectacular in all aspects. Perfect for this time of Easter where we dont do anything and just bond with the family and be at peace with nature. Terri was very responsive to my text. Our communication was seamless. Would highly recommend this place to my friend and family.

The most serene beautiful location. Felt like a million miles from anywhere but best brekkie and coffee just steps from the door and a general store a couple of minutes away with everything you could need. Bed to die for, luxury linens and towels. Possibly the cleanest place EVER. thank you gavin, a perfect stay in a beautiful location.

The accommodation is 11/10 with a 6 star rating for everything one needs for an escape. Modern, minimalist really private in a bustling area. We loved our stay and will return again. Thanks to Denise. Excellent comms and a few personal touches.

We had an amazing four night stay here. The apartment was excellently furnished, the location effectively on the lakefront was fantastic and the outlook across the lake to Mount Tarawera was beautiful. We could not have wished for more. Thank you Murray for being such a great host

This apartment was amazing & met my expectations & more The views were incredible Easy beautiful walk along the waterfront to restaurants & bars but if you choose to Uber then it was only $9 Easy self check in with lockbox We managed to get a free Carpark outside the apartment block so no problems there . Thank you Craig , hopefully we will be back soon

We really enjoyed our stay at Irene’s. It was great to be so close to the beach and there were lots of shops and cafes within walking distance. It’s a scenic 20 minute drive to Snow Planet is that is part of your holiday plans. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay a pleasure. Irene was so friendly, helpful and caring. We would definitely stay again.

Pia’s place is incredible! Had a wonderful 10 days there. We really enjoyed the location on the beach, all the amenities in the hime and the beautiful sunrise views from the wall of windows. One of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed. Pia was amazing to work with - very responsive and attentive. Could not have asked for a better stay in New Zealand!

We had an amazing time at Jo’s place. We received very clear instructions, the place was so beautiful with an amazing view. Perfect time to relax. We will definitely be back.
