City of Wehlen Markthaus - Vacation rental - Apartment

The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.

Our house with 2 apartments is in a quiet location at the foot of the Rauenstein, directly on the Malerweg. In about 600 m you can reach the Elbe Cycle Path, the ferry landing, the water park and restaurants. Good starting point for hikes, bike rides, as well as visits to castles and castles as well as sights. The S-Bahn station "Stadt Wehlen" is about 500 m away.

There is no through traffic but plenty of nature. Hikes can be started well from here, and there are also good options by bike or train. For art and culture lovers, Dresden is not too far away. The local tour operator also offers the possibility of a day trip to Prague.
