A 17th century house, the Altxua house (Aulnaie in Basque) was renovated in 2006 and offers an independent upstairs apartment with its private terrace (with barbecue). It is a short walk from the village of Ascain and all shops (800 m), 10 minutes from the sea and its beaches, golf courses and is the starting point for many hiking trails including the one leading to the Rhune. In summary: a quiet, relaxing place but close to all the points of interest of the Basque Country.

It's the perfect place to get to know the valley's most touristy sites, savor its famous gastronomic dishes, and explore the small corners scattered around the area. It also has a privileged location, because it is located a few kilometers from the Señorío de Bertiz Natural Park. The accommodation has two bedrooms, a bathroom, living/dining room and kitchen. We are close to the Bertiz Natural Park and you can access the Aizkolegi Palace from the house. Autumns are spectacular for their variety of shades and especially for picking chestnuts. Outside we have a barbecue with a grill. The village is very quiet and you can see its famous funerary stelae in the church garden
