Ryokan vacation rentals in Nakagyo Ward

We really enjoyed our stay here! It is conveniently located near a bus station (2mins) and a subway station (15mins). The house was clean and had all the necessary amenities. Instructions were very clear and everything in the house was labeled to prevent any confusion. Something to consider if travelling with older people is the steep steps that are required to go from the sleeping area to the bathroom. The host Minnie was very friendly and quick to respond! We appreciated the recommendations and added amenities that made the stay even more comfortable. Minnie was accommodating and allowed us to store our luggage past checkout. Would love to stay here again!

Wonderful arcade setting with great shops & restaurants, and easy canal-side walking to Gion and Kiyomizudera. Great public transport at top end of arcade to other parts of the city. Highly recommended!

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Location gives fantastic access to the city through the Green Line (Karasuma). Easy to access from Kyoto Station shinkansen. Less than ten minute walk to the Aeon Mall. All facilities in working order. The washing machine is very useful in extending the usefulness of your carried clothing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

Reminded me of the first house I lived in in Japan: tatami floors, wooden fixtures, sliding doors... I felt like I was visiting a friend's grandmother's house! Must have been the smell of the wood. Spacious enough for a travel group to have private space as well as communal space. It's a bit of a hike from the train station but still walkable. Quaint, quiet residential neighborhood. Incredible value. Would definitely stay again.

We loved Mayumi's home, it was such a lovely traditional space that was comfortable even for our large family of 8. It had all the amenities we needed, including a restaurant 2 doors down. We especially loved the beautiful dining room table that we all sat around in the evenings to talk about our adventures. The outside garden was tiny but lovely to look at. The location was incredibly convenient to the train station and bus stops as we did quite a bit of travelling to various parts of the city, as well as to Nara. Mayumi was so easy to communicate with, friendly and accommodating. My oldest daughter arrived first, and Grace was there to meet her/us and gave us a brief tour and her contact info if we should need anything. All the instructions and directions were easy to follow. Would stay here again and highly recommend!!

Katsuya's home is absolutely gorgeous. Every detail is so well considered. He has left a biography of the artists whose work is in the house, and a brief history of the renovation as well, which I found fascinating. Nothing is overlooked. A wonderful experience.

Amazing place to stay

This house is located in a fantastic location, only a 6 min walk from the nearest station. Shiho, the host, was very accommodating. She greeted us as we arrived and gave a house tour. She also asked how we were going and made sure everyone was okay, something that is rarely done for Airbnb hosts. Everything in the house was clean and organised, the beds and futons were comfortable, and overall we had a great time staying at this place.

We had a fantastic stay at this place! We were a family of 4, and it accommodated us perfectly. The beds were comfortable and cozy. The location was ideal for us—close to many things, but in a peaceful part of it. The place is tastefully decorated. Having access to a washing machine with dryer was so helpful! And most of all, our host was so kind, helpful, and friendly! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

We loved our stay in Kyoto! The house is very well-situated and is quite spacious for 2 people (way better than staying in a tiny hotel room!). There are convenience stores, coffee shops, and restaurants all within walking distance, and there is a subway station about a block away. Koji and Kokichi are excellent hosts—they were very quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!

The courtyard is really beautiful!Although the soundproofing is not very good, the guests staying in the homestay are very civilized, and you can't hear any noise at night!If you haven't tried staying in a traditional Japanese house, Riyu is a great place

the house is beautiful, especially the family room is very worthwhile. the bathroom is common but this never gave problems. the breakfast was really exquisite, the staff one by one very sympathetic. ok would very much like to go back.

The first time I came to Japan with friends, this accommodation experience was very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy, satisfying our imagination of a Japanese homestay. There were also convenience stores and public bus stops nearby. Life and transportation were very convenient. The host was also very friendly. There was also a delicious breakfast every morning. If I come to Kyoto next time, I will definitely choose this place again without hesitation.

The courtyard was especially beautiful, with a lovely Showa-era atmosphere. There were also two bicycles available for rent, which made exploring Kyoto even more enjoyable. Together with her mother Kauri-san and beautiful WabiSuke, they made us feel at home and gave us a little experience of living within a Japanese Community which is what we were seeking. From inviting us to a local Sushi restaurant to allowing us to share her Tea Ceremony class, Chieri has made our short stay truly memorable.
