Cozy, 12 x12’ sleeping cabin on three acre property in the Ohia forest in Mountain View. Situated four miles off Hwy 11 between Hilo and Volcano National Park, come try off-grid living in a private setting. Fully equipped with solar lighting, propane on-demand hot water and great wireless internet. The 1400’ elevation makes for cool evenings and comfortable sleeping. The shared kitchen and full bath are located just steps away in a separate building. Kitchen has a gas stove and full sized refrigerator. Laundry facilities are located here as well and free to use. Rural location provides privacy and quiet. Volcano National Park is 20 minutes away, Hilo 25. Keau’u is less than 10 miles and offers gas, groceries, post office, urgent care and limited fast food.

Surrounded by orchids and other tropical flowers, the cottage is located on two lovely landscaped acres - 30 minutes from Hilo or Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The property is solar powered, an off-grid sustainable system with 4G phone service and fiber optic wifi. The last two miles are on unpaved gravel road in variable condition depending upon how much rain we've had lately. Four wheel drive isn't necessary but an SUV or similar vehicle with higher clearance is recommended.

If you don't find the sound of coqui frogs at night obtrusive to your sleep, then this space would be suitable. While you will have privacy, my dad stays in the main house in case you need assistance in person. We are located at about 100 foot of elevation which provides for relatively cooler nights.
