Perfect location! Close to waterfalls and easy access to freeway to explore the area. Penny’s is down the street and open 24 hours. Yaks was a must for the best burger around. It was perfect for my teenage son and I to have our own space during our travels. We enjoyed the sleepy mountain town of Dunsmuir and will be back! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Absolutely my favorite place to stay in Mt Shasta! One can't beat the location, price, or beautiful lodgings. Being situated away from the train and next to little road traffic, made for a lovely and quiet stay. There may be a few issues: 1. Water-conserving shower head is minimal, but there is plenty of hot water and tall people may have to stoop a bit 2. Sofa back has a bar that is uncomfortable, but one can use a pillow 3. Bedroom door knobs are a bit loose, but who cares? The positive attributes far outweigh these issues. The unit itself is light, airy and well-appointed. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the sheets are beautifully soft. Split heating units in each room, so guests can adjust the temperature to their comfort level. The price was incredibly reasonable! Kitchen has everything. Angela, the co-host was fantastic. I appreciated the kind and professional delivery of all the clear and justifiable rules. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay to celebrate New Year’s with our family. The house is very spacious, with large, bright rooms and a huge living room perfect for gathering together. It’s equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the location is super convenient — the neighborhood felt safe and peaceful. Despite being near the train tracks, we barely noticed it, hearing only a couple of faint whistles over three days. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to return!

Great stay!! House is beautiful and kitchen well stocked. We don’t need for anything. The beds were super comfy and we all slept great. Jordan was very quick to respond to one question we had. The house is close to lots of fun outdoor hiking and sightseeing, including many beautiful waterfalls. It is however one road removed from the freeway (which is not noticeable from the photos), so if you sit outside or leave the windows open you will have traffic noise. Otherwise 5 stars all around!

Tina's cottage was quaint and very comfortable. It was nice to come back to after a long day in class at the local college. Felt just like home. The washer, dryer, and dishwasher were great amenities, made our long stay very hospitable. 10/10 would stay here again!

Howard and Mary’s place was absolutely perfect. It was the second time we stayed there and we decided we will book this stay next time we go to Shasta. We love how clean and organized the house is. The kitchen is roomy and equipped with everything you need. The house is spacious and very comfortable.

An outdoor patio area features a round table surrounded by several cushioned chairs. A large umbrella provides shade, while a wall mural depicting elemental symbols adds artistic interest. Lush greenery surrounds the space, complemented by a few decorative plants and a subtle outdoor heater.

Kania's place was a beautiful and relaxing escape and I had a great experience for my first time in McCloud. We used the woodstove every night and had coffee on the deck watching the birds in the mornings. The house was more than we needed and I cant wait to get back for a return visit! Checkin was easy and we had no problems!

This is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Mount Shasta and surrounding areas. It’s right near the river and is nice and quiet at night. She does state there are stairs to get in, just be aware that if you have physical limitations, it’s tricky to get bags and such in. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. There are beautiful places to walk, and this location is not far from other spots I wanted to go. Beds are comfy, kitchen is stocked, The host is wonderful! Very proactive, responsive, and kind. Overall, great space for one to four guests or 6 if 2 sleep on the couch.

This is one of the most beautiful Airbnb's we have ever stayed at. It feels more like a custom built home than an airbnb. It's within a few hundred yards of a beautiful hiking trail and Mt Shasta City Park where you will find the headwaters of the Sacramento River and about 1 mile from town. Michelle and Paul - the hosts - are just great people who are eager to share their love of the place.

At Janet’s place, you don’t just stay—you truly feel like you belong. There’s a deep sense of connection, of being part of something bigger. Black Butte stands in its perfect triangular shape outside the kitchen window, and Mt. Shasta sits in full view from the living room, like a quiet guardian blessing the space. Light flows through the house, bringing warmth and a peaceful presence. With open views of Mt. Shasta, it feels like nature is gently holding and guiding you. You can witness sunrises, sunsets, moonrises, and moonsets—all from one spot. That alone is such a gift. The location is ideal—calm and quiet, yet close to town and everything you need. Janet’s local tips were helpful and added to the experience. She communicates with kindness and clarity. The space is clean, peaceful, and energetically aligned. You can feel it’s held with care and intention. The presence of St. Germain’s energy is subtle but strong. Highly recommend—and we’d love to come back.

Leilani and Nick’s little house in Mount Shasta was cozy and perfect for a spiritual retreat for me and my husband, David. From the moment we arrived, everything was easy to use—the laundry was accessible right away, and we connected to the internet smoothly, which allowed us to continue our work without any issues. They were very flexible and responsive, making us feel well taken care of. The house was clearly labeled, so we didn’t even need to check a guidebook to understand how to use anything. It was peaceful, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. We would definitely love to stay again on our next visit to Mount Shasta. Highly recommended!

Toad Hollow was great for our group of 7 adults and children. We loved playing in the snow, sitting on the front porch, building puzzles on the big dining room table, cooking meals in the well stocked kitchen, taking baths in the clawfoot tub, watching dvd’s, and walking to restaurants in town. Toad Hollow is close to Mt Shasta ski park. The large mud room was great for offloading snow gear. It was nice having a washer and dryer to dry wet snow gear! Jill was very responsive when we accidentally deadbolt locked the keypad door and went out the back (the back door has a door knob lock that can be pulled closed and locked). She came by and unlocked the house while we were at the ski park so we didn’t have to deal with not being able to get in when we came back. We would recommend Toad Hollow for its cozy, like home, atmosphere.

Super easy house for a couple, families, or many people. Beds are comfortable, well (very well) equipped kitchen with items for cooking, baking, lots of plates . . . , and a very comfortable living room. Great location with an amazing mountain view a just a short walk down the alley, and peak a boo views from the house. Easy walk to groceries and food. No shoes inside, so you might want to bring slippers/house shoes. They do have some slippers to borrow too. Happy we stayed here.

Everything was great, Lauren was extremely easy to reach, and checked in with us many times to make sure everything worked out well. You can tell she really cares about her renters having a great experience. We traveled far with 3 kids under 13 so she was way more on the communication and the app than we were. It was a very pleasant experience. I had been under the impression due to the listing saying it was the entire place. That was the only confusing thing. This place was the upstairs more portion of a divided place, but I should have read the description more and not just the listing. So despite the listing saying entire home, it's split, and the details page describes this. This particular portion of the place is up a giant set of stairs versus the part I thought we were renting being the main part of the house. But there was a baby gate provided, so it was perfect. Luckily there was no other renters in the other part of the house at this time so it really made not much difference
