Family-friendly vacation rentals in Montrose

A very cosy, comfortable cottage with well considered, stylish touches that made it a thoroughly delightful place to stay. The beds were very comfortable, with thick toppers, plentiful pillows and luxurious bedding. There was plenty of hot water, and a good shower. Susan was welcoming and proactively helpful - both in providing additional cookware for a particular recipe I wanted to make, and in sourcing a new firestick for the TV so we could access Netflix. All in all, a lovely and peaceful haven for our mini-break in Scotland.

Really lovely place to spend some time with the family - ground floor access was perfect for the less mobile members of our party and the underfloor heating was great! So quiet and away from it all and great for the dogs as well - plenty of enclosed space for them to run about and not far from some lovely country walks. A few minor niggles with the property but nothing to detract from the scale of the place. We were a party of 7 and it could easily sleep 10.

The property was even better than the pictures! We loved our stay and the amenities were great especially enjoyed the chipping range and the fire pit ! We had a great time and would recommend. The only issue was slow response rates leaving us a bit confused and worried but apart from that an amazing experience.

This Airbnb exceeded our expectations—the pictures don’t do it justice. The property is stunning, with breathtaking views in every direction. Rhona was exceptional, providing thoughtful touches and attention to detail that truly made our stay feel five-star. Communication was prompt and the directions provided made finding the property effortless. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Dougal was always responsive whenever we had a question. He was extremely flexible in whatever we asked of him. One tiny tidbit is that the coffee maker is tiny, especially in a house of that size. I would suggest he buy a normal size coffee maker. But overall the kitchen was well equipped, the property was clean and comfortable and just a 20-minute drive into St. Andrews. Would definitely recommend it.

Great place to stay, everything was clean and comfy. Lots of room, nice hot tub with a great view over the town. Lots of horses on site which adds a cool element to your stay. Good size kitchen and living room. Highly recommended.

Very nice stay, we walked the coast path to Crail and had a nice lunch at the Beehive followed by evening meal at the Wee Chippy

We had a lovely weekend here. Gordon was so friendly and helpful, directions to get there, and recommending local walks. We felt so at home, comfy beds and the most amazing views. Really nice touches like bread, milk and cheese. There was even wine in the fridge, pringles and fresh fruit. A real home from home and we will definitely be back.

I can’t say enough good things about Maggie and Micheal and our stay at Ashtrees Cottage. It was absolutely magical. The cottage was the perfect home away from home with everything we needed to make nice meals, do a little laundry and relax at the end of a day of sightseeing. It’s a great location being just under an hour from both Edinburgh and Stirling and even closer to some really cute small towns like Falkland. Maggie gave us some excellent recommendations and we even ended up adjusting our itinerary a bit to squeeze her suggestions in and I’m so glad we did! The cottage over looks a beautiful Loch with a castle in the middle (Mary Queen of Scots was a prisoner in the castle for a time) and the view is unreal. It truly is magical. I will recommend this cottage to everyone and even hope to come back myself one day! Book it! Thanks Maggie and Micheal!! Cheers!

Such a wonderful place to relax and recharge. Beautiful views and a fantastic garden. The cottage is cosy and has everything you could want for. Pittenweem and surrounding towns were perfect to explore with loads of walks and great local shops. Dawn was great, really responsive and very helpful.

What an amazing place. We absolutely loved all the photos and stories describing the history of the place and how it had been in Cat's family for generations. It really added to the personality of the place. We loved the oldie-worldie furniture but yet had everything we needed to be comfortable. Lovely wood burning stove. Great for wildlife. Moonzie cottage was absolutely beautiful! It was our last stay after flying out of Scotland, and it was nice to unwind and feel at home. Between the fresh eggs and bread, and the great location, I would definitely recommend!

This is a lovely, spacious house perfect for a quiet stay in the countryside. Spotless and quiet with comfortable beds and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for relaxing and eating. Sam was a very helpful, responsive and friendly host.

We had an enjoyable weekend break in the Lookout at Pitmilly. Excellent standard of accommodation and facilities and a wonderful setting, convenient for exploring the Fife coast. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous stay at The Broch. The accommodation is immaculate and has everything you need. David was on hand to answer any queries and got back to us immediately when questions asked. The swimming pool was amazing also and our little boy absolutely loved it - fab that you get slots to yourself. The only thing we would suggest was possibly blinds in the living/bedroom area. Because the building is all glass, it’s was uncomfortably warm inside and it was quite difficult to sleep! Minor thing for such a wonderful stay and will definitely be returning with the rest of our family. Highly recommend and well worth the money.

We had a brilliant weekend in this lovely accommodation with great facilities. As a family group, including 3 teenagers and a disabled grandad, the accommodation was ideal with a lovely large open planned kitchen/dining/living area, four big ensuite bedrooms (one on the ground floor) and a separate bathroom. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and the large fridge freezer would easily have coped with supplies for a longer stay. The upstairs bedrooms had a luxurious feeling to them. The beds were all very comfortable and the ensuites were well fitted out with good walk in shower cubicles. The downstairs bedroom was smaller but still a good size. The shower had a high threshold for anyone with mobility problems but non- slip bath mats and suction handrails were supplied as soon as we mentioned disability. A shower stool would have been a welcome addition. There was plenty to occupy us without leaving the complex. We enjoyed making use of the sports facilities and the walks.

We had a lovely two night stay - easy to find, clean cottage, wonderful grounds to explore, lots of great tips from Andrew in terms of things to look out for in the grounds, loved finding the wishing well! The cocker spaniel puppy was a lovely surprise bonus!
