Cowry Acres: 11 Acre Enchanted Retreat, Hot Tub

LauraRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This place is lovely! The host is responsive and helpful. The hot tub is a real plus - with the outdoor heater on, we enjoyed using it even though it was sleeting outside (too stormy to try the beautiful fire pit). The house and location are beautiful and spotless. The furnishings are luxe and comfortable. Awkward eating space options - no dining table or large kitchen table. It was unexpected that some of the listed beds are sofas and sofa beds in common rooms, including some of the only beds available when you have booked it for fewer guests. (The larger of two bedrooms and second bathroom are a second locked space that I was glad to access.) It may fit as many people as they listed if everyone shares beds, but not all privately or in actual bedrooms. If I'd had all eight single adult guests, like I paid for, the sleeping and dinner arrangements would have been more problematic. As it happened, overall a great, cozy experience despite unexpected bad weather.

My family of 12 get together every year for the Christmas holiday usually in Delaware. This year we needed to do it in the Philadelphia area in Flourtown. I found this location on Airbnb and it was perfect! It was large enough, it provided something different, had the historical touch and provided a very calm environment enjoyed by all
The exterior of a spacious estate is shown, featuring tall windows that dominate the façade. Surrounding greenery includes trees and shrubs, with large rocks and a paved pathway leading towards a hot tub. A wooden deck is visible in the background.

Villa on a hill with indoor heated salt water pool

This place was sooo fun for my kids! The animal care taker Erin was amazing!!! She really made the trip special for my kids. Would not have been the same experience with out her. She took so much time with us and was so wonderful with the animals and letting our kids be around them.

6 Master Suites Historic Mansion. Lovely Huge Yard

FreyaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My family loved our stay at Darin’s mansion. We were 3 generations, with 13 adults and 3 children, and it was a perfect place for us to get together. The star of the show was the house itself — a beautiful Victorian mansion with a lot of what looked like original woodwork and stained glass, decorated with period furniture and ornaments, roomy enough for us all and modernized to make it more comfortable (kitchen, baths). We like to cook together , so we enjoyed preparing a big dinner in the sparkling new kitchen, which was amazingly well equipped. Six bedrooms each with a private bath gave us comfortable nights and a bit of privacy. The billiard room was a big hit! Many of us grew up in Mt Airy so it was a memorable trip to an area already full of memories — now we have one more!
