Lake lodge Retreat- studio, log burner and lake

The lodge was was quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed the wildlife taking time to appreciate the the various birds that visited, we did take some wild bird food with us to top the bird feeds up. Some of the birds are a lot more at home around the lodge and would have come in if given the chance, which we did find entertaining. I had missed that there was no internet but that was not a problem, just limited some of the TV listings. I would say to be careful with the step, which is inside the lodge, at the main door if your eyesight is not that good. We would like to see the area in summer as we stayed there in March, so are looking to return at some point.

I really loved staying at Sean's place. It was squeaky clean, really homely and they had thought of everything you could possibly need. There was a fridge and a microwave and breakfast was on offer too which I don't think I knew about beforehand! If I'm in the area again, this will be the first place I try to book!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Amazing location, perfect for the quay side, city centre and st James park. Room was really modern, bed super comfy. They even had underfloor heating in the bathroom which was lovely. It was a really quiet stay, no noise and the staff were friendly. Plus they had free croissants for all guests in the morning. Definitely would stay again, 100% recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Lijie’s place. Beautifully decorated, spacious & very comfortable; centrally located. Lijie was very warm & welcoming, as was her spouse Kostas. And at their restaurant Albion, right next door, we enjoyed some absolutely delicious food. We highly recommend this wonderful place, a home away from home, & we would choose it again next time we are in Sunderland!

Nice place to stay for a few nights. Beds were comfortable, able to to have coffee and tea in the room. Cafe next door that is cheap and nice for breakfast. Easy to find and parking was very useful!! Would stay again.

Single Room shared bathroom

This was a fantastic find! Hotel upgraded me to a room with an en suite with shower which was fantastic (had originally booked a room with a shared shower). It is right next to the drop zone where I had a skydiving competition for the weekend, so great location for me and the man in reception on the Friday night was kind enough to stay as they usually close at 11pm but I was driving up from Southampton after work so wasn’t able to arrive until closer to midnight. He gave me my key and showed me to my room which was great, especially after such a long drive. The weather was terrible on the Saturday but we found a massive brand new gym down the road where you can pay £7 for a day pass, and there’s a big cinema a short drive away so lots to do on a rainy day. Parking free and in a hotel car park, perfectly safe. Great value for money and location for skydivers.
