Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Mendocino County

This is a gem! Close to downtown, yet quiet and secluded location. It was easy to get to and had everything you need for a short stay. We would love to stay here again if we are in the area. Thank you Raul and Amy.

The River View House was wonderful! Very quiet and peaceful - great for the 7 guests we brought. The river was fun for a quick dip once in a while. The home was clean and spacious. Plenty of linens, towels, and kitchen dishes for us. Nancy was super responsive and helpful. We are planning to come back to the same rental again! We didn’t add on the studio, but likely will next time if we have more guests or more than 2 couples.

Denise is a fantastic host. Not only is the place gorgeous and accessible, but the amenities are top notch. She's very responsive and accommodating to any of our requests. We celebrated our one year anniversary here after having a great time last year and this could very well be an annual thing, it's very special to us. Hands down, must stay. Thanks for everything Denise!

Man, where to start! David's place was a dream. We've been visiting the Fort Bragg/Mendocino area for years and we never dreamed we'd find a place like David's. It isn't in the downtown area and that's a positive. You're free of the traffic and the noise. The land is peaceful, secluded, and FENCED IN!!! Our family dog, who always travels with us, was able to run and play freely without concern. There's a massive rosemary and basil bush outside and the whole front yard is a garden. :) The house is a perfect open floor plan and we were able to cook in the kitchen and have conversations with family in the living room. With a kiddo and a dog with us, having a washer and dryer was a life saver. The house gets warm quick and with the windows having screens, it gets cool quick too. The loudest noise we heard were the sounds of nature and they were welcomed. We will definitely be returning to the Northern California Coast and when we do, we'll be staying at David's place! Thank you, David! :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mara's Air Bnb. The home was spotlessly clean, spacious, and peaceful. Beautiful plants and flowers inside and outside. When Mara learned that we planned to visit the Mendocino Botanical Gardens, she generously offered us some free tickets that she had. The gardens were so close by and very lovely. We needed to wash some clothes, so we really appreciated that the home had a washer and dryer (plus complimentary laundry soap). We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful Mendocino home! The location was close to the Cabrillo Point Lighthouse and the Skunk Train, making it easy to explore the area's highlights. The house was clean, cozy, and well-stocked, with plenty of space for our group. The peaceful views of the ocean, hot tub, and fire pit made it a memorable getaway. Highly recommend!

Our family had an amazing vacation at this house. The host was great and very responsive! The house clean and had everything that we needed. Our kids had the best time here, we would definitely come back and stay here again.

This coastal home was truly magical—perched right by the ocean with stunning views of the sunset and night sky. The house itself is beautifully designed, with so much love and care evident in every detail. It felt warm, peaceful, and thoughtfully put together. Ted was a fantastic host—very responsive and proactive, even informing us about a PG&E power outage that we didn’t even feel thanks to the battery backup. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a serene and unforgettable stay.

Stayed here during a 3-week externship with my border collie. We both loved the detached studio and property! Studio was larger than expected, with an extended back portion with a bathroom and gym. The mini-kitchen was great for cooking for myself. Was able to fit an XXL dog crate in the living room and still felt like we had more than enough space. Back door leads to the backyard where I enjoyed many nights eating dinner on the deck with spectacular views of the surrounding hills & lake in the distance. Watching the sunset out here is mesmerizing!! Using the pool & outdoor tub was so special it made me feel like I was truly on a work-cation :) Lucy, the ranch dog is a sweetheart and was friendly towards my dog. Jennifer was an attentive host who went above & beyond to ensure I had everything I needed!! Me & my dog are accustomed to the outdoors and as such, were vigilant about foxtails (which are abundant in this area) and did not mind the bugs that found their way into the studio.

Perfect! We adored the place. My only suggestion is to have simple coasters on the coffee table so my coffeecup doesn’t damage beautiful coffee table!!

We loved our stay at the Verona house. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful while still being close enough to convenient places like a grocery store, Costco, a local art museum, and a delicious Thai restaurant. The pool was clean and so fun for our kids, and the kitchen had plenty of pans, pots, coffee and tea gadgets for cooking at home. My favorite part was eating dinner outdoors on the deck—beautiful views and we were able to watch the sunset each night. Wonderful stay for large families or groups of friends!

We had an amazing stay! The backyard was a private oasis with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, comfy seating, and fun games like cornhole and a Trampoline. Evenings were perfect around the firepit, and the outdoor TV made it easy to relax without missing a game. The jacuzzi was clean, hot, and the ultimate way to unwind. The Slide and pool were a huge hit with kids and adults. This vacation home offers one of the best outdoor living experiences we’ve had. Every detail — from comfort to entertainment — was clearly designed with guests in mind. We can’t wait to return!

Place was great and staff was pleasant! Tawny was super responsive and understanding. The pool there is awesome! The only thing is that the lake is not very good for swimming and there is no close access to it. I should have read more about Clearlake.

road was tricky but Sandy made it as convenient as possible to get us to our Air Bnb! Sandy made the entire experience very easy and enjoyable! Air Bnb was very peaceful and sky is absolutely beautiful at night! side note: the heated beds absolutely genius idea thank you so much Sandy for all the efforts you have made to make the Air BnB comfortable and enjoyable!

We had a wonderful week. We all agreed that our favorite things were the large and open kitchen, living room and dining room because we were able to all be together for the whole week. We also loved the pool and sitting in the chairs overlooking the lake. It felt just like we were on a boat looking out. The kitchen is large and great for large families cooking together. Steve is a great communicator and gets back to you so quickly. My whole family loved everything about this house.

This was a great place. I loved the environment, it was peaceful and serene. I liked the house and all the little accommodations. I highly recommend this rental.

Great location in the woods. Was kept clean and had solid amenities/clean facilities.

Jon’s cottage was very nice to stay at. It was clean and well put together. Very cute and cozy but still had enough space for me, my wife, and two kids under 2 years old. Our toddler loved the patio and we kept the door open for him to go play out there. The view from the patio was nice and it was cool to see hummingbirds come to the feeders frequently. Unfortunately there isn’t much to do in Clear Lake for young families and the town is not in the best shape for tourists at least. The people in town were very nice though. Swimming in the lake isn’t advisable due to the algal blooms. Seems that bass fishing is the main attraction but we don’t fish so we ended up driving 2 hrs to Mendocino. It was definitely nice to be able to come back to the cottage. Made us want a cottage just like it in Tahoe which is our usual getaway spot.

Oh my gosh, how to say how much we loved this cottage! What a dream. It's the homey, delightful place that's full of charming items and decor that are authentic, not kitsch. And it comes with Brutus the tiny pooch, who makes his nightly rounds making sure all meets with his approval! The setting is breathtaking, with a forest right outside the door, massive trees, fallen logs, a pretty field beyond. Kay is right across the yard; if you need anything she's right there. If not, she leaves you be to have your own space and time. This is close to everything but it really is a separate world. We had just a few precious days, and chose to spend almost all of them just enjoying books and naps. Just fabulous. Grab it if you can - I can see why the opportunity is rare!

We absolutely loved our stay. The Airbnb was so clean and peaceful, it was exactly what we needed on our roadtrip. Deborah has made the place truly feel like a home, the towels were soft and fully, the robs were a great surprise and we were so happy to find whole been coffee with a grinder. All the little touches made us feel calm and comfortable.

Lovely cabin, a little out of town, next to a wonderful area of trails. Had a great time. The pellet stove was a little intimidating at first but then I realized how simple it was. It’ll be cold in the cabin in the morning, but that just makes the big comfy bed feel that much cozier. We couldn’t have been happier there.

As other reviewers mentioned, Lil’s place was one of the most organized and clean Airbnbs. The garden was lovely, and gave the place a secluded and enchanting feeling. It was very quiet. We weren’t there when it’s hot, but really nice that they have AC, I’m sure we would have used it in the summertime.

A stunning ocean setting with amazing views! Definitely a place to relax and unwind and we certainly hope to be back. We loved cooking in the small but well organized kitchen and having our meals by the sunset and the sounds of the ocean. The hot tub was a relaxing treat and our two doodles loved the yard . We very much liked Navarro beach and the Mendocino Headlands for walks and recommend visiting Point Cabrio Lighthouse. Gen and Sarah were great hosts and we thank them for their hospitality! This place is wonderful. It is complete, the views are stunning and it located generally close to good restaurants (10 minute drive). This place has a high rating and the pictures and description do not lie! Thank you Cindy- the place was perfect for our occasion!
