Beachfront vacation rentals in Mendocino County

Nancy and Sam were amazing hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at their place. Great views, great amenities and overall a wonderful place. Would love to come here again!!

My family and I had an incredible stay at Gower’s Airbnb. Honestly, it was even nicer than I expected. This property offers a true California experience that’s incredibly hard to find. I’ve driven along Highway 1 many times, always thinking how amazing it would be to spend time on that beautiful coastal land you see from the road, and this property delivers exactly that. We had lunch and dinner overlooking sweeping views of untouched coastline and the beach below. There’s an easy path down to what felt like a private beach (we didn’t see another soul the entire time), and we spent hours exploring the black sand, walking the shore, and checking out the tide pools at low tide. The whole time, I kept thinking how rare and unspoiled this experience is. Gower has created an incredible home, thoughtfully designed with all the comforts you could want right in the middle of some of the most beautiful land in the world. We’re already talking about when we can come back.

I plan on staying here again in the future. I needed a much needed local getaway to reset from the hustle and bustle of every day life. This delivered and more. Every day was a struggle to want to leave the house because the views were absolutely breath-taking. Since food options are limited in the surrounding areas, I recommend getting groceries before hand because you'd want to cook and share meals at this house. I'm itching to go back as soon as I can!

Brenda and Butch were very welcoming and helpful with directions. The property is beautiful and better than imagined. Spent lots of time relaxing, floating and swimming at the river. (Chevy Silverado 4x4 made the river access very easy.) We also loved fishing for bass in Brenda’s pond! The cabin had all the essentials. We were able to make wonderful meals on the bbq with a breathtaking view. A bald eagle frequented the valley and we held hope to see a bear, but only saw tracks. We really enjoyed our stay at Carley Ranch and we’ll be back! Thanks Brenda and Butch!

Our overall stay was absolutely amazing — we couldn’t have asked for a better place. We brought our little ones with us, and ever since the trip, they’ve been begging to go back. The kitchen was perfect for cooking, the views were breathtaking, and we will definitely be returning!

Loved our stay and the house was fantastic, the couches and chairs in the common areas were very uncomfortable and I wish there was an outdoor relaxing/ eating space. The views and beach access were amazing.

Wendy’s place is absolutely spectacular. It was a well needed private & quiet time with a private lake among vineyards! We have started planning when to come back here again as soon as we stepped in. Wendy is also such an amazing host. She went above and beyond to help plan for my wife’s birthday. I can’t recommend this property enough! You must experience it!

Wonderful spot right on the lake. Next door to a free boat ramp. 4 minute drive to a bunch of restaurants and parks. Also the inside was all newly remodeled, very modern kitchen and bathroom. Will likely be coming back.

We were lucky to find the perfect time for staying at this beautiful spot. It was a great location, with parking off the street, access to nearby headland trails- while still being walkable to the rest of town. Our host, Mary was the very picture of hospitality- reaching out to us to coordinate our arrival after a delay driving through the Bay Area; then again intermittently checking in with us to make sure there were no problems. Prior to our stay, she was also very helpful and listed recommendations on places to eat. We had a wonderful stay and intend to return to enjoy the lovely views and relaxing environment we find ourselves wishing we could live in full time.

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful ocean scenery. The home is comfortable and enjoyable. The kitchen was amazing, it had all the amenities we needed. We walked to Maritime Cafe, visitor center and Artist's collective. The Elk Store is just across the street. There is a short walk to parking lot to walk down to the beach.

This was a beautiful spot. I wish we could have explored the town for longer! Our hosts were wonderful, helpful, and responsive. The property was everything we could have wished for and more. Will definitely have to come again soon:)

From my mother who stayed here with my family for my wedding at Switzer Farm: “Westport is a lovely little town and Westport landing did not disappoint. It is a wonderful home that you can tell is loved by its owners. We loved waking up listening to the ocean and the views were breathtaking. There is everything you need in this home. Fully equipped kitchen, toys , puzzles and activities for kids. There is even a piano for those of you that play. We didn’t spend a lot of time exploring the outdoors because we were there for a wedding but I’m sure that would be fabulous. We did enjoy watching the cute family of foxes living behind the home that visited us on a daily basis. Our 4 year old granddaughter commented on the way out how much she would miss them. Magical home and magical wedding. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.”

The view. It's maily the view that no picture can really describe. But than again, the house itself is so nice, with great feeling of privecy but still near fine restaurants, wineries, short or long hiking trails, sea and forests. Perfect location

this was the perfect peaceful weekend getaway! not only was the house equipped with everything for any kind of home made meal, it was very clean and modern in a beautiful location! you cannot beat the view. bruce was extremely helpful and kind! highly recommend booking this hidden gem!!

What a magnificent home with the most beautiful ocean views we’ve ever had along the coast. The house was a perfect size for 6 adults. The kitchen is well-accessorized. It was a wonderful place to relax and spend time with family. The stunning views left us speechless!

All I can say is wow, what a perfect stay we had at The Guest Nest! Kerry's place is beautiful, inside and out - spotlessly clean, well thought out, cozy and spacious. Lots of light during the day, and the fireplace kept us warm at night. The views from the windows, porches & garden are amazing, from the garden, to the grounds with the deer grazing, to the ocean. Absolutely fantastic neighborhood as well...Caspar Headlands and Caspar Beach are an easy walk, and they're both gorgeous. Last but certainly not least, Kerry was an amazing host - extremely helpful, kind and communicative. If I ever find myself in the Mendocino area again (which I hope to!), I would absolutely love to stay in The Guest Nest again, just an amazing place/host!

From the moment you enter this cottage, you are transported to a place of unbelievable tranquility and calm. The view of the ocean greets you like a soothing hug, and you immediately know you’ve entered a very special place. The house was beautifully appointed with everything you could need or want. It was super clean and tidy, uncluttered but cozy. Whether you sat on the deck or cuddled up in a warm blanket in the window nook, the ocean views kept calling to us to take another look. We even cancelled dinner reservations and decided to cook at the house so that we could drink in more of this wondrous coastline. There was a well-stocked market not too far where we could get provisions. There is also a private beach access for those who like to wander in the sand. If you are looking for one of the best seaside experiences of your life, do not scroll by this beautiful cottage. It went way beyond any of our expectations, and I’m sure it won’t disappoint you either.

This place was beautiful, homey, relaxing, and all around an exceptional stay. Lisa, the host, was very responsive and kind. The place is in the heart of Mendocino Village yet very quiet and private feeling. We will stay again!

Great place, is bigger than the photos. Kitchen was pretty clean but we needed to get some things like aluminum foil, parchment paper etc. Baking trays were available. The view is unbeatable and the spacious living room, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms made it feel like a luxury. We could see the ocean from two bedrooms, living room, even the kitchen stove had a large mirror to be able to see the ocean! We could see the ocean from the hot tub, it was great! The home does not have a fire pit (in case anyone else gets confused like us) :D

Beautiful location right on the coast. Wonderful views from the deck and hot tub. You didn’t need to leave the property feel like you were on vacation.

Mike & Eula’s loft is a perfect getaway. The views a location are spectacular. We stayed there with our daughter for Spring Break to rest and relax. The loft has all the conveniences you would ever want. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We recommend bringing your own shampoo and soap, since only one set of small hotel soaps were provided. Being right on Main Street made it easy to explore and shop. The balcony was a great place to eat our home cooked meals Al Fresca . We will definitely be back to enjoy Mendocino and the loft.

We are in love with this neighborhood, the kids loved having their own upstairs space, the neighbors are so welcoming and knowledgeable, the yard was perfect for our dogs, the scenery with ocean views and wildlife frolicking about it unreal, and we absolutely love Ft Bragg including the botanical gardens and bakery within a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive. We hope to be back another time!
