Vacation rentals in McDowell County

Thank you so much for a lovely treetop getaway in the mountains. I was literally overjoyed by the warm welcome from all the sweet farm friends! Their hospitality brought another level of joy to our stay! Peggy Jean even let me take selfies with her! The expansive mountain views from the hot tub were so appreciated and something I always crave on vacation. We also enjoyed walking to the waterfall on the property. We felt like it was the perfect amount of privacy for an anniversary getaway while enjoying the warm hospitality of the farm friends!

Very nostalgic and classic feel to the home, amenities were as described. Host was responsive and friendly, where we felt right at home.

The cabin was clean and in a great location. Just as described. We enjoyed the spacious balcony. Everything we needed was provided as listed. We have already talked about returning!

We had an amazing experience! Spectacular picturesque views of Lake James with mountain backdrops. The host was also very quick to respond with any questions. I would highly recommend this lakehouse paradise. :)

Stayed here with 6 adults, 3 dogs, and 1 infant and had plenty of room and more! The house was truly beautiful and had all great things to do inside like board games and ping pong for when we had poor weather, and outside like nearby hiking trails and a hot tob for nice weather days. We especially loved relaxing on the spacious deck. Thank you for a great stay! One thing to note if visiting is the amount of road work going on the area leading up to the house due to the hurricane damage. Plan to leave early if trying to get there at a certain time because you will be delayed in road work.

Do not think twice about this cabin rental. The home is absolutely perfect! The kitchen has everything you need (spices, oil, tools, space, keurig, drip, all the things you hope it will have when you show up) The couch is incredibly comfortable. The beds too are amazing. Main bathroom has a very modern shower and toilet. But most of all the deck and the view are worth every penny. We spent most of our time reading and drinking coffee from the chairs on the deck. And it was so peaceful and relaxing. We had a brief issue with a power outage but a) they have a generator that automatically turned on and b) the owner was proactively communicative to let us know and kept tabs that we were okay and when the power went back on. Wish we could have stayed longer. Rent it for a day or two longer because you won’t want to leave. Thank you to Susie and the team who hosted us, we had exactly the trip we needed

This is a well appointed house on a fantastic lake-front lot. It was just my family of 5, but this house could comfortably accommodate 12 or more. We found everything we needed at the house, including games, corn hole, an outdoor firepit, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The view of the lake is beautiful and the whole house seems to be oriented to highlight the sunset. Really nice.

Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay! The cabin was very clean and looked like new. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.
