Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place, house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed for a month stay. Private and beautiful surroundings, responsive and friendly host, and a great location to explore Maine and the upper east coast. Memories to last a lifetime! Would recommend anyone wanting to enjoy to coast of Maine to stay here and have a great time, so much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

Rented this spot as a way to have everyone stay together for a graduation- the house was perfect! Plenty of space for people to spread out, all the amenities we needed, and peaceful surroundings. Thank you Casey!

Great place for the large family group we had. Kid friendly as well as great for adults. I was worried how my mom would make out as she uses a walker. But the full bath on the Main floor worked out great for her. We used the fire pit . It was nice that wood and starters were included as well as sticks for making s’mores. I can tell that the owners have equipped this to be used by families. Very great place! Would like to go again someday maybe when the weather is a little warmer. Thank you!

I have stayed at dozens of air BnBs and I think this may be the best one yet. The house is nestled in the woods in a quiet remote setting. Not only is the house new and very nice on the inside but it has a lake view from both sides! The lake is terrific for swimming and Jud offers a good selection of kayaks and boards. At night the elevated deck is perfect for listening to the sounds of nature. What made the experience even more wonderful was the hosts - I had requested an extended checkout and since they were unable to accommodate that they offered us to come a night early at no charge. In addition, I was left stranded by Uber when Uber did not follow through on a ride that I needed. Jud went way above and beyond and helped me out. I would have been lost without him. Oh, and not to mention they also delivered us some fresh homemade cookies during our stay which were fantastic! I cannot speak highly enough about this lake house or the hosts. I only hope I am lucky enough to return!

The place is beautiful, relaxing and peaceful. We were able to bring our Gracey Girl who had an amazing time with all of the smells in the secluded location. We were able to explore areas in town and Bar Harbor. Yes, it was a 45 minute ride to Bar Harbor but it didn't feel like it and to be able to come back to the beautiful home in the peace and quite was amazing. I was paranoid about the electricity, being off the grid, but there were no issues even though we had a couple of cloudy days. The wifi worked well too, both streaming TV and for the little bit of work I did while there.

We had a fantastic time staying at Lazy Lake Cottage. The home was beautiful and the area was so peaceful. It was also easy to get to Acadia National Park. We were also very grateful for the warm welcome our Golden Retriever received. I definitely recommend staying here.

This is one of the best AirBnB’s I’ve ever stayed in. The cottage was perfectly cozy and thoughtfully appointed. Christy was proactive in reaching out and also very responsive and helpful. If you are comparing this location to something else in Bangor or the surrounding area stop your search and book this place. You will not regret it. 10/10.

We loved our stay at Lakeside Landing! The A-frame on the lake was well appointed and comfortable. It has beautiful views of the lake. We’d never experienced Common Loons (bird) before and loved sitting by the fire and hearing their calls in the evening. We also enjoyed kayaking on the lake thanks to the rental that Jennifer shared with us. We can’t wait to come back to Otis, Maine!

Everything was clean and just what I expected from the listing. It was a great location in relation to Acadia National Park. We enjoyed staying in more secluded spot, but we could easily drive into the busier Bar Harbor area. I highly recommend staying at Hannah’s place!

We had a great time here. The beds were comfortable. The location was exactly what we wanted. The kids loved being able to kayak and play in the water so close to the house. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and the dining room was perfect. We enjoyed the use of the pellet stove on chilly mornings. The variety of birds was a fun bonus. We all enjoyed spotting the eagles and watching them and the other birds.

Laura's place was newly renovated, clean, and peaceful. You can hear the river from inside the house when the windows are open. Even though it's on a main road, you can't see or hear traffic since it's set back from the road in a wooded area. Mattresses were very comfortable as well. There is a large mini split in the living room and fans in the bedrooms. The mini split cooled the whole house and in general the house stayed pretty cool even on hot days since it's in a wooded area. I highly recommend!

Simply magical! Cozy and fun space. We enjoyed watching eagles and ospreys fish, seals pop their heads up, and even an adorable family of foxes from the comfort of the living room! Kitchen had all necessities for cooking most meals at home. A nice trail for walking down the road and an awesome beach where the kids threw stones and searched for seaglass each afternoon. We were all sad to leave!

Mark was a great host! He offered to let us check in early, as our flight came in before check in time. The house was quiet and peaceful, perfect vacation house! Our kids loved the easy access to the lake, and the house provided numerous outdoor knick knacks for them to play with. We also enjoyed the relaxing mornings on the hammock. The house is close enough to all necessity’s, but still away enough to not feel crowded with people. We would recommend the place to anyone, and will be returning in the future! Great stay! Located on Flanders pond (5 min walk; boat launch / public beach to fish / kayak / SUP). Caught over 10 fish in one boating trip. We’ve been to Acadia before so while we did visit the park, it was awesome to have the option to hang out at the ponds/ lakes / public land nearby and go hiking / swimming / fishing. Schoodic Mountain hike (Donnell’s Pond - 10 min drive) with a 1000ft ascent has stunning 360 views and rivals (if not surpasses) main Acadia hikes. We also went to the quiet Schoodic Peninsula side of Acadia, stopped at the beaches and then hiked Schoodic Head (500 ft ascent) / Buck Cove Mountain Trail (25 minutes away). The new modern cabins have great kitchen set ups with high-end appliances, deep set sink and cuisanart pans which made cooking easy. Super comfortable beds and every amenity needed for teenagers (Multiple TVs, WiFi) etc. Fire pit, grill and screen porch also made for a comfortable stay. Owned by a super nice local family. We will be back!

Super easy house and nice newer cabin compared to many of the Maine cabins that are old family non updated for similar costs. Katie's place seems to be on ample property but is located beside the road so there is some traffic in case you were looking for absolute quiet.

We had a wonderful stay. Melissa and Andrew’s place is fantastic! It was very cozy, clean, and a convenient base for Bar Harbor adventures.

We had a great time at Boyd Lake. Beautiful spot for swimming, kayaking, fishing, etc. The house was awesome, with modern kitchen and everything you need to relax. Very cool to see the loons swimming by.
