City of Wehlen Markthaus - Vacation rental - Apartment

The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.

Due to our proximity to the easternmost point of Germany, the Einsiedel Cultural Island and the Neisse, we are the ideal place to stay for families, cyclists, etc. Even if the property is not quite finished from the outside, we have put a lot of effort into the interior design. Nearby are the following excursions and attractions: Nature trail Guttauer Teiche, Olbasee, Dinosaur Park Kleinwelka Bärwalder See/Seenland, Quitzdorf + Bautzen dams, Berzdorfer See, historic old town Bautzen Many popular bike paths, such as the Seeadlerrundweg. Bicycles are available in different sizes.
