Vacation rentals in Lower Machen

Absolutely beautiful place in such a beautiful setting. My hubby and I felt very at home here. Our two little dogs loved it. The beach barn was spotless. The photos of the place are true to what it's like, however, if you're organised like us and think of bringing along coffee pods as you've seen photos of the machine so to not use all of the host's pods. Be aware it is not a Dolce Gusto machine, they now have a Tassimo. Don't fall into buying the wrong pods like we did by looking at the photos🤦‍♀️😂 A very short walk to The Captain's Wife pub and 1988 Indian, the food at both of these places is lovely and definitely worth trying! Lots of things to do and places to see whilst here. We drove to the Barrages walking over to Cardiff Bay, definitely worth a visit and also try Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, lovely walk around there and the medieval village. Barry Island beach is also perfect, it's lovely, clean, and perfect for dogs! We'd love to return the beach barn again in the future.

Beautiful spacious apartment with the balcony being an extra little bonus. Well located and was only a 10 minute walk to the town centre. The apartment had everything that you needed and was well equipped! The rooms were so spacious and there was plenty of room for the 6 of us! Checking in was so easy and I would definitely recommend staying here. Can’t wait to go back 🤩

Absolutely lovely cottage in a lovely location! It was exceptionally clean when we arrived. Kim gave us very clear instructions on how to find the cottage, along with lots of recommendations of things to do! The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you might need for cooking, the only thing we would change would be having salt and pepper shakers rather than sachets. We really enjoyed the different flavoured coffees! We really enjoyed the local area- the local pub is a 3 minute walk away, and we also visited the local shop. We walked along the canal from the village to Crickhowell, which was a very easy and beautiful route! If we had stayed longer we would have made use of the bike hire in the village. The only thing we would have added would have been some board games/card games for when the weather isn’t on side! We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely come again. Thank you, Kim.

Could not recommend this place enough. Loved the views of the mountains. We all loved the outside bath. Cabin immaculately clean and tidy. No WiFi, just brilliant! Wanted to get away from it all. Local pubs and walks fantastic. Was looking at local Ley lines in the area. Twin valley ley lines and pilgrimage. Local medieval churches stunning. Laura an excellent host. Cider and Apple juice on site with shop. Lovely to to have a welcome note for kids and me. Kids loved the outside bath and also the bunk bed. And very accommodating with same day/late booking. Beautiful little cottage , so cosy with everything you needed . Our hosts were fantastic, they replied straight away when we messaged . And nothing was too much trouble.The area around the cottage has amazing views and walks for our dog. We got to sit out on the lovely rooftop balcony in the sun . It is so peaceful just what we needed. A great find and we will definitely come back .

We had a great stay. The location was perfect as it was easy walking distance to the centre of Cardiff. Despite being so central the street was extremely quiet. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay again next time we come to Cardiff. Exceptional value.

This was a family stay with elderly mum so the ground floor and general access was excellent. parking right outside. super clean. Sean was very accommodating to our needs and delivered everything we asked. loved that we had tea, coffee, milk,biscuits, sugar, ect also soap, towels shower gel, washing up liquid cleaning products. this all makes a lovely touch. Quiet ,so sleeping not an issue. would highly recommend.
