Absolutely amazing place for a getaway. The cottage was spotless, smelt beautifully, nicely equipped kitchen and the hot tub was a great addition too! Martyn is very friendly and responsive when messaged. In short, if you’re looking for a quiet place away from everyone,surrounded by stunning scenery and a warm/cosy cottage, then don’t look further and get this booked! 100% recommend!

We walked in the property in awe..!! What an amazing place “house on the hill” is. My wife and I couldn’t stop looking out at the view even at night time when it was dark. Under floor heating and a log fire certainly keeps you cozy throughout your stay. We had a bath on both nights together and we could sit side by side it’s that big and take in the view of the stars and planets. That was a first for both of us..!!! The bed is that comfy my wife had decided we need one exactly like it and the same size, which I’ve agreed too. We took in a day in Elie, Pitwimmen, St Monans & Anstruther. We had breakfast at the Pavillion and meal at Ship Inn. Both places were lovely and great food. We haven’t had the luxury like this before so we are going to book again for next year. We were looking for a total peaceful break, clear instructions on how to use amenities, hot tub was really clean and really warm so enjoyed hours relaxing in it! Thank you Ainslie ❤️

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

Our stay at Laura's house was incredible. She provided everything we needed and more. We had our 1yr and 3yr with us and she had a toy for them, provided a high chair and bath seat along with the cot we requested. The house was so clean and beautiful, everything was perfect! Loved being surrounded by farm land, you can see Wallace Monument from the back of the house. The back patio is fenced in so our boys could play safely. We loved the hot tub! What a bonus! Laura responded to every message immediately, she had a welcome basket of food and champagne for us, she was so helpful and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very well designed cottage making the best possible use of quite a small space - with both a shower room and bathroom , utility room as well as kitchen/living space and the patio with hot tub. Although near to the High Street with a range of takeaways and a superb butcher (Hunters) the cottage is in a very quiet street. The nearby Curate Wynd free car park was very handy and we could unload from there. Although Dawn and Darren were away Dawn was on hand to answer any queries. We had a great three day break - spending the days at the RSPB Nature Reserve in stunning weather. We ate out one night at the Balgedie Toll Tavern - highly recommended for great food and very good service.

From the decoration to the location , Katrina's cottage is beautiful. it was so clean which was fantastic too. The hot tub was so relaxing with the view adding to the experience.. the privacy screens were very thoughtful too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return

Wonderful stay. The location is absolutely superb. What amazing views and so peaceful and remote. Sitting in the hot tub looking out over the hills was pure bliss!! And the stars you could see on a clear night, wow. Despite being so remote it’s close enough to Edinburgh that you can drive in and do all the attractions. So just perfect. Kylie was a fab host too, leaving Easter eggs for the kids and letting the kids feed her kunekune pig one day! The animals are great, especially Karen then hen, although she will come inside if allowed haha! All in all, we had a fantastic stay. Thank you Kylie

We rented Ladywell Lodge with the Doocot for a large family holiday. Though the cottage is up in the hills, it was very quick to get to major routes. The lodge was perfect for the two couples who stayed there. It is tucked away in its own large outdoor space with woods and hill walks just moments away. It was comfortable and clean with everything as described. The kitchen was well laid out and the sitting room really cosy. The hosts were great too - Sandra is really responsive and we found the flexible check in really good. It was perfect for our family and being able to pair renting this with the Doocot meant we had a brilliant space for lots of people to stay. My husband and I would love to go back and would happily rent the lodge again as it was so comfortable in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

A lovely little flat, ideal for 2 people, but we managed with a child and... a dog! Whilst the space is rather limited, Anne ensured that it is functional and well thought through. She's also provided coffee (which was delicious with our breakfasts), milk and snacks, which was a lovely bonus. The flat is newly refurbished and modern and it was very, very clean when we arrived! The bed is on a small end of things, so I opted to sleep on the sofa with the child, which was extremely comfortable. Location is a good compromise for visitors who want to be close enough to Edinburgh, but also have quick access to the north. Thanks Anne, you are a great host!

From initial contact, through arrival, stay and departure, everything was ideal. Libby's warm welcome, the cleanliness, comfort, facilities and general atmosphere were all quiteoutstanding.

This is a lovely cottage , very well equipped and lovely furniture Two bathrooms iwere reat and the log fire was perfect Good beds good storage space nice linen The crockeru is lovely and there were bits n bobs in the cupboard for cookin and also dishwasher tablets and fairy liquid The situation is also lovely with good walks to St Monans in ne direction and Elie to the other Chris also successfully ordered the sunshine so we could sit in the garden and wee sun house this cottage is a great find, we loved it

We had a fantastic stay here! The cottage is lovely and immaculate! Rhona was really proactive with communication and gave us great recommendations for nearby restaurants and cafes. The location is beautiful! Just a few steps to a lovely and peaceful beach and 10 minutes walk into town. We hope to be back!

The cottage was excellent Linda was very friendly the village doesn’t have anything in it bar a hotel and shop but it’s really good for dog walking which was what we were after. Highly recommend if you want it quiet

Lovely old cottage in a beautiful village. Easy drive to St Andrews and Fife coast. Hilary responded very promptly to any queries.

Highly enjoyable stay - very easy checkin, great location, very nice cottage. Really easy to get around (with car), Bostock bakery just 5 mins down the road Highly recommended for a nice trip away - Edinburgh was a 40min drive too

Beautifully quaint bolthole! The Cupboard is a utterly lovely place in Elie, literal stonesthrow from the beach, where our dog and us had a magical time. Tiny but expertly laid out, and efficiently uses the space so you feel super at home. We love it and will defo be back

Lovely cottage and surroundings. Homemade bread on arrival was a nice touch. Read in earlier reviews about deer on the lawn. It's true! Would highly recommend.

We loved Fairy Cottage's location, very peaceful, but there is lots to do in the surrounding area and it's very close to Lochside where we were attending a wedding reception. Hugh was so helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need for a stay in this area. We only wished that we could have stayed longer - we were there for just 1 night. Angela had left us some little cakes which were much appreciated by us with a cup of tea after our 5 hour jorney from Lancashire after delays on the M6. Nothing short of amazing! A nature lover’s paradise (even with the Scottish weather). Got dry weather for an hour one morning haha so had a lovely breakfast in the garden. Met two tiny (literally newborn) lambs in the field next to us! All wobbly on their feet. So cute!! Friendly hosts, very clean and well decorated.
