Now in its 7th season the Yurt is very popular. Last year (2023) we have upgraded the flooring from carpet to wood with lovely rugs. This year (2024)We have also changed the curtains throws, cushions and bedding and added a few extras for our guests comfort. The Yurt has a kingsize bed, a kitchenette and a sofa. The fire is ready for our guests to light on arrival as this is the only form of heating and you can request more logs each day free, The Yurt has an ensuite bathroom with shower etc

We all had high expectations as this property was described so beautifully both in words and pictures. And we were not disappointed. Wow, was all we could say! What a fabulously comfortable, welcoming home. All the fixtures and decorations were high end and we appreciated all the fine details. The high tech oven did give us pause, but we figured it out. We were a family of 6, and even the 20+ year old “kids” were comfortable in the bunks. Thank you for the thought that has been put into this property.

Had a wonderful stay. Peaceful environment, ideally located for walkers, an abundance of great walks on the doorstep. Loved the space. Having a separate bathroom from other campers was wonderful. Definitely recommend

There was great communication with the hosts, Margaret and Ian and a personal welcome with easy parking and access to the cabin. The cabin was immaculate and cosy for the two of us and two small dogs. In the evening, solar lights added to the ambiance under the sheltered decking. Despite the cool weather, there were plenty of heaters which warmed up the space quickly and efficiently. There is direct access into Fort Augustus on foot and dog walks along the canal. A short drive away are walks in local woods.

Al built this fabulous lodge himself, it is simply stunning inside with glorious views of the countryside from the terrace, it is a tranquil and beautiful location. So quiet and peaceful, truly relaxing, very comfortable bed and stylish interior, spotlessly clean. Al was very helpful with his knowledge of the area and made us feel very welcome indeed, nothing was too much trouble. Spotting the deer and red kites along with a hare and lots of birds was great fun. Highly recommend, this is a very special place.
