A cool Tripper's Inn Room #5

The neighborhood will certainly make you feel like you are on vacation, nonetheless it will also make you feel like a local. The beach, considered the best in the area, is just steps away. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and up the street, Loiza street, is booming with new local bars and restaurants, all very good. The bus stop that will take you straight to old San Juan is 10 steps from the property. This same bus will take you up and down the tourists areas.

Have fun with the whole family at this stylish place. The outlets are near which can be fun for the whole family with restaurants, go karts, arcade and some fun shopping. You can go to the beach but what’s very close are the mountains with waterfalls and more. The house does have stairs be aware, the stove is Childs proof. It is a pretty central area, Carolina and Luquillo are not far away which means the beach is close as well.

The hosts were very communicative and went above and beyond to prepare for our arrival. We were arriving after desk staff hours, so we were given very clear instructions for entering the building. We caught the general manager as he was leaving and he was very friendly. The building and room is very clean with simple contemporary furnishings. The walls are thin and you can hear people talking in the hall or downstairs, but complimentary ear plugs were set in the room for us. Be mindful of the step up into the bathroom! We were only there to put our things down, eat dinner, sleep, and head out to an early flight, but it seems like a nice place for a quick stay with friendly and warm communication from staff. Thank you for a nice experience, Looking Glass!

Hotel El Convento was incredible- the front desk was incredibly responsive. Our room was spacious and very clean- we utilized a lot of the outdoor patio space on the third floor which was so lovely for your morning coffee or evening wine. The staff was always friendly and attentive and provided great recommendations! The location is clutch as you can walk to nearly everything. There are so many excellent restaurants within even a few feet of the hotel. The hotel itself is gorgeous and felt private. 10/10 would recommend and would return to stay here!

I was nervous about not seeing a review in 2 years, but this was awesome! First time staying in a hostel. The stay was great, 10 minute walk to La Placita which was super cool. It was really well decorated and has a cool rooftop. Lots of great restaurants close by, and easy side street parking. However, both locations given through air bnb weren’t accurate at all. I couldn’t get a hold of the host through the app. We ultimately looked up the name of the hostel on Apple Maps and found the location, then needed to ask a local working at Vegand where exactly it was. That’s when we discovered the secret door with a phone number written down to call lol. From there the communication was great through text so may have just been a one off. Overall I’d recommend this place to someone else!

Our stay in San Juan was fantastic! The room was immaculate and felt very secure, thanks to the front door code and traditional metal key (which we preferred over a keycard). The air conditioning worked perfectly, and having free parking just across the street was a huge bonus. We also appreciated the reliably hot water in the shower. One highlight was the upstairs balcony, which offered gorgeous views. The complimentary welcome basket—filled with local snacks and drinks—was a thoughtful touch that made us feel right at home. Please note that while this space essentially operates like a hotel room, it isn’t serviced as one. If you’re staying more than a couple of days, plan to bring extra towels, sheets, and any additional essentials you might need. Overall, we highly recommend this property for anyone visiting San Juan. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would gladly return!

Beautiful ocean view right outside the balcony for a minimal couple staying here for a week. restaurant and bar with helpful and nice staff. Super relaxing vacation as a first time visit to San Juan/PR. Great peaceful and private/gated neighborhood. Beach was never crowded on weekends or weekdays. Would recommend for minimalist personalities.
