Apartment vacation rentals in Lake Merritt

Noah’s place met our needs. Importantly the beds in the bedrooms were comfortable for a week long stay. Apartment was on main floor, did not have to lug suitcases up the stairs. Proximity to a grocery store down the hill for b’fast items & fruits was nice. Easy connect to and from Berkeley as we were there for our daughter’s graduation. Walking distance to restaurants in Peidmont & downtown Oakland. Quick drive to BART station. Parking was a challenge but always found a spot a lane or two over.

This was my second time staying at Karen's place and it was an absolute dream. Karen's place has all you need to live like a local in Oakland. The location was super convenient, and everything I could need was on hand. I can't recommend Karen's place enough, it's a wonderful home base.

Great clean and modern place. Excellent location and communication, entry, etc. There is quite a bit of street noise so ear plugs are a must, but it might not bother most people. I'm very sensitive.

I had a truly lovely and seamless stay at this Airbnb. My family and I stayed here for 8 nights while celebrating my graduation from UC Berkeley, and it was the perfect home base. The check-in process was smooth and convenient, everything was handled through an app that also gave us access to the building’s many amenities. The apartment itself was spotless and had clearly been cleaned right before our arrival. I barely had to contact the host because everything was so well-prepared, but when I did, she was responsive, kind, and understanding. The location is ideal, right in the heart of downtown Oakland. It's just a short walk to the BART station, making it easy to get anywhere in the Bay Area, and the AC Transit bus stop is only two streets away. Being in the city center also made us feel safe and connected to everything we needed. If you're looking for a convenient, clean, and comfortable place to stay in Oakland, I highly recommend this Airbnb!

We had a lovely stay at Jamie’s place! Very clean, comfortable, well decorated and hosts reached out to make sure we had everything we needed.

everything about what an airbnb should be. personal touches everywhere - this place did not feel like a shell of a house purchased solely to rent out. it felt like someone was actually hosting me in their home with care. and it was amazing that our pup was welcome. if in bay area to visit family again, i'd love to come back.

I slept incredibly well at Cheyenne’s place because it was so quiet, cosy and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom had everything I needed, and the sitting area outside was a lovely place to enjoy a meal and the view. I’d happily stay here again. One note to other guests: take the comments about the steepness of the street and the description of the stairs down to the accommodation seriously. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the place for you. If not, though, it’s a short walk to the beautiful Morcom Rose Garden, good restaurants (such as Jong Ga House, if you like Thai food), and fun shops (such as the Oaktown Spice Shop on Grand Ave).

We had such an amazing time at this place. It’s a little small (so ask how tall the ceilings are) and there are lots of little steps so know that. Those two things were okay with us! The place is so beautifully set up! We felt right at home. And the garden is magical. It’s also very close to most anything in Oakland so great location. Also the host is so kind and so responsive. This is a great place to stay!

Lori was a great host - super communicative, and thoughtful. The location of this place was perfect for us and Lori provided helpful recommendations (we loved the Ultimate Coffee et al. coffee shop in the neighbourhood). The apartment was cozy, clean, and stocked with extra supplies. The chocolate and coffee pods were a nice touch to our stay. Highly recommend this host and location.

Last week we stayed at Bruce and Chris' beautifully appointed home for the third time. The same comfortable, immaculate and cheerful accommodations awaited us. Fantastic spot- central on the island but felt like a you were still off on your own.

The flat is spacious, and very welcoming, exactly as pictured. The living area is comfortable and the highlight for me is the bathtub. Neighborhood had everything I needed so a car was definitely not missed. I look forward to coming back.

Great place in a beautiful neighborhood. Just what we wanted. Among other things, the kitchen was great and well-supplied, including coffee, fruit, bottled water, and a bottle of wine! We felt very welcome and will certainly try to rent it again when we're back in Oakland.

Great overall stay. I stayed for a month and really appreciated the amount of space, having a full kitchen, the ability to do laundry and responsiveness of Ann and Yousef, and the lovely terrace. It was easy to get to Lake Merritt for a jog or restaurants nearby and the freeway was easily accessible to go to Berkeley and San Francisco.

The convenience and price made it worth it and the host is very responsive.

We loved our stay at Jan’s place in Berkeley. The space was great for our trip. We absolutely loved the deck and hot-tub. We spent most evenings sitting out there for hours! You also can’t beat the views of the bay! Overall, such a wonderful stay, we would for sure go back and recommend to all our friends and family.

The location and space was perfect for our needs! Clean, and larger than we expected from the photos. We especially enjoyed the hot tub/gazebo and the balcony.

I loved Albina's place. It was so perfect for what we were looking for. It was cute, easy to find, easy parking and just so lovely. The highlight was the view. The bedroom window looked out to the city and the ocean. We never even turned the TV on since the view from the bed was just spectacular. We literally just watched the ocean and boats going by as the sunset before our eyes. The moon then came out and we went to bed just staring out at the sky. I hope to be able to stay here again. It was such a magical retreat.

This property and experience is a gem! The location is gorgeous and central, the space is homey yet elegant and spacious and the hosts are lovely and responsive. A very well appointed and relaxing stay in the heart of the city. I very much look forward to returning.

We absolutely loved everything about Eurydice's space. So elegant in its simplicity, and clearly prioritizing coziness and livability. She's thought of so many touches that made it all the more welcoming: extra throws and blankets, a fan and heater in the closet in case you need a temperature adjustment, a night light in the bathroom, super comfy seating and bed. All this set in a gorgeous garden that's very convenient to public transportation and very walkable to boot. On top of all that, Eurydice was a great host: very responsive, warm, and welcoming, even though I never ran into her while we were there. This place really felt like home away from home, and the most difficult part was getting myself to leave! :)

This was a gem of an airbnb! The space is beautifully put together, very clean and comfortable - I almost didn't want to leave it! The location can't be beat - just steps away from Castro and a short walk over to Dolores Park/mission. Cory was extremely pleasant to communicate with, super helpful and eager to be a resource, and very proactive in addressing a next door neighbor's construction mess. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to any future guests!
