Cottage vacation rentals in Lake Junaluska

We are familiar with the area so we knew exactly where the cabin was, and it was perfect. Close to town and WCU, yet right on the Tuck and peaceful. Outdoor space is excellent! Great river access right on property. Had all the basics, bathroom is tight, but the outdoor space makes it all worth it.

Lovely accommodations and gorgeous location with ample privacy. Looking out to the mountains across from the home reminded me of the Amalfi Coast with all the houses lit up at night. Magical!

Very charming home. Convenient to everything, yet in a lovely rural setting.

Cute little cabin! The yard is not fully fenced in if your dog is like mine--she jumped up on the wood/log retaining wall that serves as part of the fence to get out of the yard. The location was great, very close to the Maggie Valley shops and also not a far drive to Lake Junaluska or Waynesville. It is a peaceful place to be, we enjoyed it a lot.

Loved our stay! It was wonderful to just unplug a bit, enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods and play some board games with our kids. It was quick access to the Cataloochee Ski Resort once down to main road which was our main purpose for the trip. The Only thing I wish I had known prior to our arrival was the last of grocery options, had I known I would have made sure to stop and stock up prior to our arrival.

if you’re looking for a place to truly wind down and relax, this is the right place for you. My girlfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful time, and we’d love to come back sometime. Would definitely recommend!

The views from the wrap around porch are breathtaking. Just wish we had been able to enjoy them longer. The inside is spacious and well appointed and very clean.

This lovely modern 3 bdrm home was beautifully maintained and stocked with ample towels, pantry items, flat screen TV with cable/satellite, all necessary appliances including a Keurig coffee maker and w/d. The country setting was quiet and peaceful yet close to Asheville. Jon was very easy to work with and quickly responded to any questions. Access to the home was easy.

Great stay! The place is well set up, well kept and comfortable. Tom was very helpful-he even helped immediately return an item left behind by a guest. Would definitely stay again

We had such a wonderful stay at this cozy mountain cabin! The home was absolutely beautiful—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The 5 acres of land and the running creek made for such a peaceful and private getaway. Our Australian Shepherd loved having so much space to roam and especially appreciated the fenced area where she could play safely. It was the perfect spot for both relaxation and adventure. Lindsey was friendly, responsive, and made sure everything went smoothly. We’d definitely recommend staying here and hope to return ourselves soon!

The Mayor's Cottage is incredibly cozy and charming, both inside and out. The gardens and tasteful time period decor are even more beautiful in person. The house was clean & comfortable and the thoughtful extras provided by the hosts made us feel right at home. We very much enjoyed the history of the cottage and surrounding houses, and appreciated all of the recommendations for local dining and activities. The location is perfect being both private and quiet but walkable to dining and shopping. Our hosts were very warm, welcoming and thoughtful - Hospitality at its finest.

Wonderful stay! This was my second time at Sam’s place & it was just as great as I remembered from our first stay a few years ago. Clean & comfortable, it was a wonderful home base for traveling around the Asheville area for work. Such a peaceful spot to come back to after long days on the road, bouncing from one client visit to the next. Seriously couldn’t ask for a more friendly & responsive host or anything more from our stay. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the area!

Wonderful place and location. We had walked by the house several times during our previous trips and had always wanted to stay there. It met all our expectations, which were high since my wife has loved the place since for years. It perfectly mixes updated services without sacrificing the mountain style in which the cottage was built. Easily walkable to downtown shopping and restaurants but also having a peaceful backyard that is perfect for some quiet time and contemplation. We would love to stay there again.

A very nice stay. We had a group of seven and needed five bedrooms. This house was perfect for us. It was very much like a home with puzzles and books and TV and anything else we might want. Once we found it the first time it was easy. We kept forgetting to turn on a light before we left for the day so we came back to a lot of darkness. That was completely our fault. I would recommend this property to anyone who needed six bedrooms and three baths. They were very responsive when we had a question too.

This cottage was clean, comfy, cozy, and very calming! The back porch looks out towards the creek, and you can open the windows to hear the gentle creek sounds. I highly recommend this place and plan to return if I'm this way again.

This is absolutely the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. I love to fish and the pond didn’t disappoint, caught bass, catfish and bluegill, it was a blast. It was so quiet and we really enjoyed the space by the pond. The home was immaculate!! We are already planning another trip to go back.

This was a perfect location for a wedding we were attending nearby. The 2 bedroom/2 bath cottage fit our needs wonderfully! It is actually why I chose it from the many options. The setting is beautiful. It reminded me of Chautauqua Lake, a similar religious retreat near my home, so I decided to research Lake Junaluska. Amazingly they were created by the same minister! Thank you, Heather for sharing this wonderful spot.

We were so happy to have rented this house. We fly standby and weren't sure if or when we'd be in town, so booked last minute, and they were super responsive and helpful especially given that it was last minute. As far as the house, they really thought of everything. From a tea kettle for my morning tea and kitchen drawers full of anything you'd need, to great touches like huge fluffy pillows on the beds and multiple luggage racks in the closets, to plenty of games for the kids and a binder with lots of info on the local area. I especially loved being able to listen my Spotify account through the TV and chairs and benches around the property to enjoy the views. The kids loved romping around the hills on the property. The space was very clean, decorated simply but very nicely, and had a great open layout. Lastly, they kept in touch with us through out the visit to update us on local wildfires that had a potential to be an issue, though thankfully they never did. Awesome stay!

Nancy's place was a great place to stay and visit our son AT WCU. It is conveniently located. The house is very comfortable and has plenty of space to relax and enjoy a weekend away. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and items that I could bake for our tailgate. So, that was a plus. This is definitely on our list of places to stay in the future.

Catherine's place was so cute! It felt like being in a treehouse, and the mountain view was amazing. We loved the vintage look of the appliances, and the kiddos loved the loft! Catherine was very knowledgeable about local trails, and her restaurant recommendations were amazing. We loved Zambra! We also had a bit of car trouble the final day, and she helped us by letting us stay an extra night for a reasonable, additional fee. 10/10!

Our family had a lovely and peaceful time at the cottage. Everything was spotless, the kitchen was loaded with all the necessities you can possibly need. The creekside barbecue was certainly a hit! Very cozy place, and loved the book collection.

Very peaceful and about 30-40 minutes to Asheville.
