Cottage vacation rentals in Haywood County

We are familiar with the area so we knew exactly where the cabin was, and it was perfect. Close to town and WCU, yet right on the Tuck and peaceful. Outdoor space is excellent! Great river access right on property. Had all the basics, bathroom is tight, but the outdoor space makes it all worth it.

We loved staying at this cabin in Maggie Valley! We were in the area to enjoy a birthday weekend and some hiking, and the cabin was the perfect base camp! The hot tub was spotless and a great way to wind down after climbing a nearby mountain. The view and stars were unbeatable, the cabin’s kitchen was perfect for making breakfasts and a nice steak dinner, and the fire pit was a cozy way to spend time under the stars together. We prefer to stay in private locations and this cabin had plenty of privacy; it felt like we had a whole mountain to ourselves. Tara and Phillip were easy to communicate with, and though we didn’t have questions because the instructions were easy and clear, I’m sure we would have answers quickly if we needed them. We loved our time here and absolutely would love to book again if we find ourselves craving another trip to the smokies! If you’re looking to find somewhere for a private mountain getaway, you can stop looking; you’ve found the best around.

Had a great stay, home was inviting and clean with an abundant supply of towels. And the hot tub was great, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate well enough for daily use. As one other reviewer mentioned, the beds are very soft, especially the queen. And while it can technically sleep 6 people it would be extremely tight. In my opinion 3 is good,4 is kind of maxing out the space. Checkout was probably one of the easiest I’ve seen. Would definitely stay there again.

Awesome view and peaceful cabin just right for our family get away. Easy short drive up to the ski area and just as easy to get down the mountain to Maggie valley. Highly recommend and would visit again.

The Dogwood Cottage was such a charming cottage. It was even better than the description on Airbnb. From the beautiful outdoor deck to the clean and organized interior~ we were very pleased with our selection! I stayed on the Ms. Pac-Man arcade game till midnight.... My husband and I enjoyed our stay there, and we plan on returning one day.

We had a great weekend overall staying at Overlook Nook! The house looked just like the pictures and was well cleaned. The hot tub was nice as well (after it took a little while to heat up). You can’t tell in the photos, but the house is located very close to other houses and is on a crowded street. So, it isn’t a private, secluded rental. But, it was very conveniently located so it was close to many things! The only cleanliness issue was a few stains on the king sized comforter in the primary bedroom. Also, as some other guests mentioned, you have to take your trash with you to avoid paying $50 for trash removal. Although it was an inconvenience, we thankfully didn’t have much trash. Overall, our stay was great and the house was located within an hour to a lot of popular places which was great!

We had a wonderful stay, enjoying the hot tub, fire pit, and sharing meals around the indoor and outdoor tables. The home was clean and welcoming, with an ideal layout. It's an easy drive to lots of great spots in Maggie Valley. And how refreshing to find a cabin with all the amenities, without a terrifying drive to get there!

We had a great time at this beautiful location. The view is truly amazing and along with the privacy, created a restful and pleasant stay! Michelle was extremely responsive and helpful. We would defiantly stay there again.

Beautiful comfortable home. We enjoyed our stay and the forest privacy. The owner was always available for any questions we had. The creeks nearby were fun to visit and listen to. Just remember the main highway entrance and exits are all u-turns for safety. If your gps does not show a u-turn it is wrong and keep going to be safe.

We absolutely loved the place! The house was great and comfortable. It was just as described. The stream on the property was so relaxing and peaceful. The small fenced off dog area gave us reassurance for our pets safety at night and the dog door was a thoughtful bonus. Most of the windows were without screens so that was a slight disappointment because the weather was perfect for having the windows open. We enjoyed sitting out by the fire pit. Nothing better than a fire, the sound of a stream, and private beautiful wooded surroundings. The road getting to the property was rough. There is a mention of the gravel drive with a suggestion of having a high clearance vehicle. I would change that to state that a high clearance vehicle or a 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary rather than just suggested. The host and accommodations were excellent. We definitely look forward to another visit.

We loved spending the weekend here! It's absolutely beautiful and the most peaceful cottage ever. Spend time on the deck in the mountain air and you'll never want to leave. Claira is a fantastic host, too. She made the whole process super easy and friendly. We would definitely stay again!

I can’t say enough about how much we loved staying at this house. The house is a beautifully done and well-maintained cottage. It is right at the end of downtown and walkable to so many shops and restaurants. Looking forward to staying in Waynesville again and staying in this cottage.

nice quiet home with Creek sounds to relaxing your self

This mountain house was an absolute gem! One of the first things we appreciated was the paved road leading up to the property—it made access so much easier, especially in the mountains. Once we arrived, we were blown away by the incredible view, which really sets this place apart. The house itself was fantastic, with a private downstairs living area that provided a quiet, cozy retreat. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a bit of separation, whether for extra privacy or additional guests. The water pressure was excellent, which is always a nice surprise in mountain homes. Everything from showers to washing up was seamless and enjoyable. Suzy, the host, was simply amazing. She was incredibly attentive throughout our stay, even going the extra mile by sending a weather update for the day it was expected to snow, which was really thoughtful. It was such a pleasure working with her, and her communication made everything smooth and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better exp!!!!

Great host. Perfect location, close to interstate and restaurants/stores, central to several tourist areas without busy city traffic/noise. Visit Maggie Valley and Cherokee one day and Asheville and Biltmore the next without spending your whole day driving. This is a beautifully decorated home with just the right blend of original and upgraded finishes, fixtures, and floors for a luxury stay wrapped in the warmth of visiting Grandma's house. Will definitely stay here again!

Nice location, tasteful property

What a gem! The views were beautiful. The cottage was situated perfectly to catch the breeze and had multiple porches. We kept the windows open and enjoyed the fresh air the whole time. Spacious kitchen and beautiful landscaping. We enjoyed visits from Charlie, the owners dog and got to know the owners as well. It offered privacy but was only 15 minutes from town. My only complaint is the beautiful 4 poster bed. It was so tall, getting into it was a challenge for anyone short in stature or with old joints. We definitely plan to stay again.

Susan has appointed Wren Cottage to feel just like home. Games, books, a fully stocked kitchen (useful as I cooked a Thanksgiving dinner there!) and her original artwork for sale were all really personal touches that we loved. Her guidebook to the cottage and surrounding was really helpful. We loved being near the creek and near the cute little town of Waynesville, with great restaurants and shopping. Really clean and spotless! Love, love, love.

David is a great host. Very clean & cozy cottage with a beautiful mountain view. Also very quiet & peaceful. We absolutely enjoyed our stay & experience and look forward to visiting again in the future.
